Back in the day, Seymore was the man. I remember, in the late '90s, going to my local video store to the 'adult' VHS section--you know, the one they hid behind the curtain--and seeking out all the Seymore titles I could find. I couldn't believe the stuff this guy was shooting--close ups of Alisha Klass and Samantha Stylle's sphincters, squirting, pissing, ass-to-mouth, interracial; Butts was blazing trails for guys like Jay Sin & Mike Adriano. Haven't seen a lot of Seymore's work, but the two I do remember was with a latina by the name of Mari Possa. She was fricking hot. Almost thought she was his girlfriend. Those early Seymore movies were some of my "gateway to gonzo" favorites. He really did pick up the lessons of Buttman and further pioneer that "up close and personal" POV style that guys like Adriano use now. I'm not sure I really needed my porn to be THAT up close and personal, he could drag out a BJ scene into 40 mins of increasingly abstract and noisy slurping, but his classic stuff had a real vibe. Mari Possa is hot but by the time he was doing the cable show, his stuff just seemed cranked out. That was all Max's schtick. He's the Speculum Savant of Gonzo. I usually fast forward through those moments. Every scene is like 87 minutes long, so I usually just find a stretch I like and go with that. I'm also not a fan of super-duper asshole close-ups, since at that point it could be ANY asshole out there, so you might as well be watching gay porn. Darkko can get pretty fractal as well, but he somehow remembers that there's an actual girl attached to the orifice. I think Adriano gets so lost in the glory of it all, it becomes a private funworld that excludes the viewer's interest in putting a face to the felch funnel. ANYWAY... Seymore Butts... was he a victim of overexposure due to the Showtime show? I never saw the show but I can imagine he burned the candle at both ends while doing that show. I loved Seymore Butts when he was shooting Alisha Klass and Taylor Hayes. I think that Mari Possa was his secretary, she ask to be in a movie on his reality show "Family Business". One the Loose was the 1st modern porno I had. Because like most of us the 1st porn we get our hands on belongs to someone else.
