I looked her up on Wikipedia and it said she left he industry for good. Where is she and what is she doing nowadays? Is she working in the sex industry still? Topic Moved by - Steph on Apr 9 2008
Yep.After she failed to cross over into mainstream film back in the late 1990s she took some time off and then tried to make a comeback. Despite a lot of rumors to the contrary, she really didn't want to but she made that one film which she was paid an obscene amount of money for "Jenna loves Kobe" and then retired from on-screen performances. There were rumors she appeared at adult events but never confirmed. If she ever did attend such events, she made sure she was NOT recognizable and not in any feature presentation position and not signing.Nope. Her son should still be very young at this point. So more than likely she is at home raising him. Not everyone wants to be Mimi Miyagi in this biz.
chill out, Dean Wormer. i'm just wondering what she's up to. One of the biggest stars in the 90s is gone without a trace and i'm just curious about her whereabouts.

The dean is right. If she wanted people like you to know these things you would know them. It's pretty obvious that she isn't trying to attract her porn fans anymore. Get over it and be happy you ever saw her at all.
I like when people think they're entitled to know the intimate, private details of a retired (or even active) pornstar's life. "I just want to know WHERE she is and WHAT she's doing?" Okay but why? Just what are you going to do with this information once you get it? I understand natural curiosity but fans should also understand that most people who were performers in the adult business don't want their fans to know their whereabouts or what exactly they're up to unless they make it plain that they do. Knowing that, you'd think a little bit of common sense would prevent a fan from even asking "Where is ____ and what is she doing?" in the first place. Just because YOU don't know where your favorite star is doesn't mean they've disappeared "without a trace"; they've just successfully disappeared from the people they intended to leave behind: YOU. C'mon. This question is asked a lot, but for some reason this guy is singled out to be some asshole for doing so. Gee I wonder if he had a few thousand more posts and was part of some clique or one of the "vets" would he get the same treatment?
So you think fans should have the information about former stars that they want? Location, occupation, family status? Why? All I was saying is that if Kobe were to make that information public it would be easy to find, the info is not public. Connect the dots. EDIT: the OP already has all the info he needs:
She left the industry for good. Is she still in the sex industry? Hmmm I wonder... No forwarding info anywhere for a fan club, no other information about her current life seems available. I bet she is just thrilled when her old fans try to track her down... It doesn't make fans seem like stalkers at all when they won't drop personal issues like this, not at all.

I wasn't getting a vibe from the guy he wanted specifics like her actual location, where she worked and such. Just general info. How she's doing, is she doing anything adult biz related at all or 100% done with it. When these type of question come up you usually get several people coming forward with info on why the person quit the business, what' they're up to, if they got married etc... Yeah the first answer was sufficient for most I suppose and the OP's follow up question was maybe uncalled for, but still, it didn't come off as stalkerish/obsessive. I just felt he got a lil raw deal as to how he was treated and wondered if it was someone higher up on the fourm food chain if he would've gotten the same treatment. Oh well...

I disagree because I searched about her, wanting to help. I found the exact info the OP says he found. To me that was plenty. Pretty much "she is not having sex for cash any longer and also does not want to associate herself with that part of her life". Even from the wikipedia entry isn't that sentiment obvious? You are more then welcome to search my name in starcrossed and see how often I tell folks that the information they have is plenty and they should be glad for it. I didn't treat this poster differently then any other person who posts about about anyone. The information they have is enough. They are entering stalker status if they aren't satisfied with "she quit and moved on". If one can't accept that a porn star one likes has quit and wants to stop being a object of interest to her former fans (and all of her available biography and information reflects that), one is entering the zone of stalking. EDIT spelling. And sense.

I'm a new poster here, but that guy definitely comes across as a stalker demanding "Where she is and what she's doing!" It one thing to know whatever happened to someone, quite another to demand where she is!

I recently looked up Bo Jackson to see what he was up to post-football. One site just said he had moved on with his life and didn't do football-related stuff anymore. But I continued to look into exactly what he was doing and where he was doing it. Now I realize I am a stalker.
That depends... do you wanna fuck Bo Jackson? Ever derived masturbatory pleasure from watching him play sports? [Link]

During what percentage of Bo's football career did he keep his real name a secret? Edited by - conquistador on 4/12/2008 1:14:27 AM

Being curious about someone and demanding where someone is and what they are doing is two different things. Besides, I don't think Bo lives on the fringes of society and is worried about getting assualted.
Something I'm curious about, though it's not specific to Kobe Tai, is: when stars get included in compilations, sometimes even ones the titles of which bear their name, do the stars continue to get paid for that? "Jenna loves Kobe" seems to be the last original work Kobe Tai did, but she continues to appear in new releases. I'm guessing they do not get paid for that, but I think they probably should. As far as WEHT questions, up to a point I don't think they're unreasonable. Is "(title)" her last title, does she maintain a website or fanclub or wishlist, has anybody heard what she's doing now, is she happy, is she still trying to break into the mainstream, stuff like that.
I understand why starlets want to leave it all behind when they finally reach that point. But it still baffles me because girls like Kobe looked like they were having a blast. She always looked like she was loving the sex. TO just want to bury it all seems like such a drastic turnaround.
I'm always interested in the business side of porn, so I have a few comments. Royalties is one of the areas that (financially) working in porn is very different from working in advertising or mainstream entertainment like television. Although I believe Jenna Jameson (and maybe Tera Patrick) had a deal that included getting paid when product was re-released in different media (or compilations), most performers don't. The companies can/do continue to make money many times over for a single scene. In Kobe Tai's case she worked for Vivid--and for a while, a few years ago, all Vivid seemed to be releasing was compilations of old scenes. "And the Winner is..." or "The Royals..." or "The Best of..." And because the performers had already been paid for the scene, Vivid was making money off of product that cost them very little to release. Same thing with internet product. You get paid for doing the scene, no matter how many times it's played/downloaded--or later released on dvd. IMO, not the best deal for the performers. This is why so many performers attempt to start/produce their own product, or websites. It's currently the only way they have to get some payment everytime a scene is re-released. Because they own it.
Kobe was one of my first porn crushes, so hot and cute both at the same time. Yes, she did always look like she was truely loving the sex. To me, she was ahead of her time and it was obvious that she was into the sex. She was one of the early major stars to routinely take open mouth facials; that was almost unheard of at the time especially at Vivid, but her and Heather Hunter, another early fav and great performer in her own right, were great at that. I wish she hadn't gotten the bolt ons, but that's another story. I just simply feel lucky that Kobe gave us what she did and leave it at that. Yeah, I wonder sometimes what happend to some of my favs, but there is simply such a stigma about porn in society that even the "stars" probably just want to leave it all behind at some point and have as normal a life as possible, especially being a mother like Kobe. Like I said, I'm just thankful that they shared a special part of their lives and wish them well in having a "normal" life and exploring other interest. For the love of god has nobody ever sat down and watched the VH1 pop up edition of WHERE ARE THEY NOW? I'm sure his question is no more an issue than each of us watching that show. People are curious whatever happened to a lot of people, not just their favorite porn stars or 80s rock band but also old friends from high school, their first ex and so on. It's human nature. In answer to your question OP ..... Kobe Tai is no longer active in the industry however rumors from those friendly with her in the industry are that she is re-married, and stays at home raising her kids and seems to very much enjoy being a mom. She recently contracted out the running of her official website to a company that handles a lot of porn star websites such as Tory Lane, Tawny Roberts, etc. So even if she no longer wants to be in front of the camera, she clearly has no problem keeping her name out there. And good for her. She should be banking off of her name. She deserves it!! Kobe Tai hasn't really made a movie in years but she still remains in the top porn stars (see current list at FameRegistry.com). Despite her absence from the business fans to this day still search her out because they love her today as much as 10 years ago. She even out ranks in popularity current stars like Penny Flame, Daisy Marie and Sunny Lane. The company running her official website for her list her official fan club address as ..... Kobe Tai 12400 Ventura Blvd #156 Studio City, CA 91604

So the rumors are that she has an "official" website and that means she is still connected to the biz. That must mean that shaunagrant.com is actively involving Shauna?
^ I think you missed this sentence from Kelli's post: "She recently contracted out the running of her official website..." I'm pretty sure Shauna Grant hasn't contracted anything out lately.

^ I assumed that in the paragraph before when he mentioned rumors that it also meant the website. Also I got the impression that he was of the belief that just because a website has someone's name on it's url it means that they are involved with it. Thus my linkage to shaunagrant.com. Anyway that's not really the crux of the original poster's message or any of the debate that followed. It was just theses two sentences that made the word "stalker" come to mind. "that doesn't answer the question of where is she and what is she doing nowadays. SHe disappeared, i'd like to know what she's up to these days".
Okay, the paranoia has returned. I prefer to think Kelli's insight is more on the mark. Human nature, that stuff. It's a People Magazine, Showbiz Tonight world. Human nature. It's like Heather Hunter is very visible in the public eye. I actually became a fan after her Vivid days were over, but adult film is where I discovered her. She's done some mainstream acting, most recently in American Gangster. She's tried her hand at being an author, recording artist, and is a painter, and I think her artwork is really good. This is not an exact quote, but I do remember her saying in an interview that she wanted to show she could do more than ride a dick! Another favorite, Jordan McKnight, I took a shot at contacting Janet Jacme on her website, asked about Jordan, and got a pleasant reply. I guess Jordan is doing okay. Keep it Shinin' On People

This is what seems to get me. Someone explained she is probably home raising her child. Explained she tried to make a comeback and was paid alot of cash to do the movie with Jenna and then called it quits. That should say what she is doing, no? Unless people want her the "fall from grace" story on how someone was making big bucks in the industry and now is working at a local video store for minimum wage? Not sure knowing what she is doing specifically matters. I mean I wish Sydnee Steele was still in the biz but she bowed out. Never got to meet her as i started attending the AEE in 2006. No biggie to me. Still a fan and still like her work.
Kobe was in American Gangster? Dang. If true good for her. Who'd she play? She was clearly the best thing in Very Bad Things (granted the bar was low LOL) but she definitely has the look and talent to pop up in some mainstream acting if opportunities were afforded her. Anyways, glad she's happy and doing the parent thing. Always glad to see the stories that have the happy endings.
Kobe was my absolute FAVORITE in the early 2000s and I was lucky enough last week to come across a 12 scene Vivid Best of Kobe Tai dvd. Several no condom scenes and scenes where she took loads on the belly. One scene with Peter North was 🔥. She seemed to genuinely enjoy the sex and this dvd will be treasured by me for a long ass time. Mainly because this is all I will ever have. And yeah some of these ladies just vanish. Belladonna did the same and very obviously doesn't want to be found.
