And then, as a followup question for someone like Jules, why not sell versions of your movies with and without the fisting and allow distributors to make the choice about which one to carry? Do distributors not like that? Is it a problem for them to carry the watered down version knowing that a more extreme version is available, even if they don't want to take the legal risk of carrying the more extreme version? Or, why not sell directly to consumers and skip distributors altogether?

It seems to me that fisting is something that people want to see and someone could make an awful lot of money if they could come up with a business model that gets that type of product out to the consumer.

The rift fisting causes is amusing...

I've seen movies where a chick takes a foot to the ankle and this fails to stir up any drama. Hell, where are these sensitive bastards when Rod Fontana is taking almost an entire foot in his ass? Footing isn't the same as fisting? Not that I'm complaining, cause I enjoy the freaky shit.

As for depicting religion... this doesn't exactly sound like Linda Blair jamming a crucifix into herself in "The Exorcist" and yelling "Fuck Jesus!"

I agree with Jules that it would be unfair to sell a movie like Corruption to distributors and retailers without making them aware that it's got the kind of extreme content it has. SexZ always intended to release a "standard XXX" version of the movie with no fisting, and with a few other content cuts, and it becomes available December 4th.

From what I'm being told, there was some confusion among retailers and distributors as to which version they wanted. Others -- such as AdultDVDEmpire -- at first wanted to wait, and then decided to take the "XXXX" cut (which is how we refer to the existing release), and then place re-orders for the XXX version when it became available. They've now sold out of the XXXX version, but will be selling the XXX version when it ships at the beginning of December.

One thing should be made very clear, however: to date, not a single copy has been returned. It's true that some retailers asked if they could return the XXXX and exchange it for the XXX, but to date, none of them have, largely because they have already sold out. Most of the retailers who currently have the movie in stock have it because they have placed re-orders (The second pressing of the XXXX release has practically sold out).

It's because of this confusion, and because of our belief, backed by Paul Cambria, that the movie absolutely fails the SLAPS test under Miller, that Bo is offering to pay for legal fees should a case arise, which you guys already know all about. Personally, I'm curious to see what that promise, coupled with our nominations and the mostly positive reviews will do for re-orders of the XXXX release.

As for VOD, the XXXX cut is available for download from sexzvod.com.

And regarding the dual-disc release model, I don't want to speak for Jules (he's apparently still pissed at me for a crack I made about his JJ medallion almost two years ago on KSEX), but for most producers, a regular release sells so few DVDs these days that it would hardly be worth it to have a separate run with separate printing and authoring costs.

Now, in Jules' case, he (along with his old alma mater) is one of the only guys who routinely moves enough pieces that it would be cost effective, but then the question becomes "why?" The retailers who would purchase a harder version (and, understand, gonzo is much more susceptible to prosecution that a feature) probably aren't going to buy more pieces than they are now since they order based on what they can move.

The model that Kylie & I are discussing for her SlutWerkz venture will be a straight XXX version for the DVD release, and a much harder version available exclusively via VOD.

As for talking Bo into releasing the fisting version, it was never a question. He asked if I thought we had a strong third-prong Miller defense, I said "absolutely, but check with Cambria." Cambria said we were fine and the rest is history.

Lastly, regarding awards, I'm on record all over the place that I don't think we'll win. I ran AVN for five years and I'm pretty good at reading the field, and handicapping the voters (just ask Kylie who has sat with me now for years as I predicted 90-95% of the winners for each and every award). My prediction is that we will lose to Fashionistas in every category we're competing against it in. Naturally, I would love to be wrong, but, y'know, you can do a lot worse than lose out to John, so I'm okay with that.

As long as we don't get whupped by freakin' Tailgunners ...

Oh, and "ROI" is Return on Investment, Returns refer to retailers and distributors returning unsold or defective copies, which they'll do for any reason at all given half the chance.

If you do decide upon a censored DVD release ‘model’, is there any chance of the uncensored option being routinely available on DVD for the European market?

Regarding your adopted nomenclature, as an alternative to the ‘XXXX’ & ‘XXX' distinction, how about ‘uncensored’ and ‘censored’, instead? Hmmm, more commercial considerations, I guess.

The directors cut is listed on jadedvideo.com, but I thought the "Directors Cut" is not supposed to be released until sometime in Jan 2007?

So there will be 4 versions of the movie?
1. XXXX Original Release, UPC=?
2. XXX Edited Release, UPC=?
3. Directors Cut XXXXX-Jan 2007?, UPC=?
4. High Definition - Jan 2007? WMV/HD-DVD/Blue-Ray?, UPC=?

Did Eli Cross and the people running SexZ Pictures realize there was a greater than good possibility that the original planned Director's Cut version of Corruption will not be releleased? If so why didn't they seemly include the extra fisting footage and extended scene footage in the XXXX version?

I do already have the Directors Cut, but almost did not buy it in anticipation of the extended directors cut with kylie fisting your ass scene intact. For me, this scene alone is what I wanted most. Maybe I am a greedy consumer who makes decisions on where to allocate scarce resources.

Please release this scene in one form or another in full dvd/hd resolution (480p+). Maybe it could be a web download?

We live in a sexually repressed, supressed and and anything but expressed society. Many of the great fisting scenes from the past are gone unless you own the original VHS or live outside the US. Think about it - would you buy the Tampa Tushy-Fest starring Alisha Klass and Chloe as it exists today, all chopped up with none of the fisting? How about if the original were put back on the market with Chloe being double fisted (one in each) and Alisha taking two fists in her ass? If you are reading this post, the answer is probably yes.

Remember, fisting is not illegal. It is one of those things where the industry polices itself. Given the losses on many of the production companies, why not take a chance?

This is an interesting film and Hillary, you were remarkable!!! But, come on people!!! 'Hints dropped that more explicit footage would be available with additional versions' simply reeks of marketing. I know there is no counter for how well adult movies sell, but I can guarantee you that whoever was behind this as SexZ got a HUG Christmas bonus in their employee fruit basket!
