I see more and more websites quitting showing trailers of their movies, or clips. For Instance both Bangbros and Evil Angel used to show trailers, but now don't do it anymore. yes they do only if you subscribe to them.
Does anybody know why so many websites are quitting free trailers?
Not sure exactly why they do it. Would someone be more tempted to join just to be able to watch the trailers? I doubt that.
Btw, you can still watch the trailers on evilangel by searching for scene, director or performer instead of clicking directly on the thumbnail on the homepage.
^ I suspect you're right. I don't know if costs may be a factor, but with a lot of people watching a lot of trailers, that could be a lot of bandwidth.
I've wondered this myself, always thought it was to reduce piracy, but a few sites I'm subscribed to have trailers available on the non-login site but not on the members' site. Jules Jordan redesigned and forgot to include trailers; it's weird.
i pretty much solely join websites based on trailers. certainly will only purchase manyvids content if i can see 30 or so seconds of what i am purchasing beforehand. i can only speak for myself but i am a prolific subscriber. if i cant preview the content\ get tempted by it \know what i am getting i am not joining. obviously, this applies to new websites only. if i was a previous member of a site and they took a way trailers i would still most likely join because i would know what to expect.
the decline is sad though as i also considered porn trailers great pop art in a way.
Sites are certainly not going to recover by doing the least/offering less but only stave off death for a little while. Much like with creator-owned content, if there is no trailer, I assume either there is low confidence in the content or about a trailer's worth of sex content is all you get from the full video.
I think this is a symptom of the whole industry as a whole getting squeezed. There are so many sites and so much content available and so little money to go around. I think a lot of companies aren't making the type of income we would expect them to be making. I know myself personally get to the point where I have to ask myself, "How much money am I going to spend?" Part of the reason why I like sites like Adult Time, New Sensations, and Evil Angel is because they just offer a variety of content.
I have a niche content interest, so I have evolved to where I would spend quite a lot for a quality site, but alas, I am about to take a more off-and-on approach with the one ongoing site I subscribe to. They just can't deliver quality more than once every sixth or seventh week. Time to alter my behavior. As far as sites not making as much as we think, we know just because so many sites have folded. Producer-wise, listen to some Mike Quasar interviews. They are not making as much as they were used to before Pornhub, and I'd bet the amount they make per shoot they produce is still declining. Heaven forbid you are not a trusted and well-connected director/video guy, it probably sucks hard compared to the revenues possible before.
Hey photo sets too. Brazzers said to fuck with them, Realitykings, PornPlus, Evilangel sites never did them, Xempire sites have low quality sets still, and Dogfart doesn't seem to do them anymore either. The only ones still coming through with good ones are JJ, Nubiles sites and VMG
