Ten years ago I was an avid fan of Wicked Pictures, I enjoyed storyline flicks Brad Armstrong produced, and whoever asked me for porn recommendation, I would recommend something from Wicked... But they are not even close to what they were...
Let's go back twenty years back, when Flashpoint, Satyr, Jenna's Revenge, Dreamquest were out... They were awsome... Ten years later, Armstrong made some great films, Fallen, Coming Home, Girls in 6 C... And look the stuff he is doing now... The stuff Wicked is producing... The quality of those films are just low... Sure, films like Aftermath or Underworld have big budgets, and you can feel Armstrong's touch, but it's just not IT anymore...

The internet cut the legs from out of the industry, features were already on their last legs and this pretty much guaranteed their death.

I have never given any time to plots or acting.
I just wanna cut to the chase.

Why I passed on joining Wicked.com website.
I'm a Brazzers member, and, periodically, they offer great one-time charge specials that allow you to add one of their family of websites for as long as you maintain your primary membership.
This week, they have been offering Wicked.com, as a one-time charge add-on, for $59.97.
Brazzers has changed their downloads policy for many of their websites over the past year.
Specifically, in many cases, paying for a membership no longer includes downloads as part of the package!
So, I figured I'd do some research before joining -- as a paid membership without downloads is a waste of my time and money.
First, I carefully scrutinized the Wicked site to see if they offered any details as to what a membership to the site includes.
Zip... Nada... Zilch... Nothing.
Nowhere on the site is there any information regarding what a membership includes.
(I'm assuming that, once you join the site, you will be able to see "something" -- but not as a visitor trying to find anything out before joining.)
They do offer the clever lying-by-telling-the-truth claim of "Unlimited Access" (at least in the advertised offer I need to click-through when I visit my other Brazzers' (i.e. Mindgeek) sites, BUT, as we all should know: "Unlimited Access" is not "Unlimited Downloads."
So, I found a review at Rabbits Reviews, that was updated on May 20, 2016, that indicates "members must upgrade to download videos."
Just as I suspected.
A reader comment clarifies what exactly this means:
So, for only an extra $119.40/per year, in addition to your $109.88/yearly membership, you can actually download a video
That's $229.28 total/per year suck-a-roos.
The $9.95/per month "downloads upgrade" is entirely consistent with the "upgrade" offers I often have to click-through when I log into most of my Brazzers/Mindgeek sites.
So far, Brazzers has honored all of my download rights, on all of my websites where I purchased the "one-time charge for as long as you maintain your primary membership" sites.
My add-on sites include: Babes, DigitalPlayground, MOFOs, RealityKings and Twistys.
This is due to the fact that (a) I had purchased/joined all these sites prior to the many membership changes Brazzers/Mindgeek made to memberships over the past year, and (b) I have kept my primary Brazzers membership in continuous effect.
As a side note -- and in full realization of the importance of my maintaining my primary Brazzers membership in order to keep my grand-fathered download rights -- I recently renewed my Brazzers membership for three years, at the total cost of only $199.94.
That's only $66.65/per year (for me) for full memberships -- including download rights -- to six sites (Brazzers, Babes, DigitalPlayground, MOFOs, RealityKings and Twistys)!
In any event, my circumstances don't apply to the rest of you reading this
Bottomline: Even though I could purchase a "lifetime" access to Wicked for a one-time charge of $59.97, I am passing on it (and I really wanted to add Wicked to my portfolio) because I am just not going to pay an additional $9.95/per month ($119.40/per year) on top of it in order to download content.
That, and I am just outraged when porn pay-sites do not fully disclose the details to consumers before they join a site, encounter the "no refunds" policies when the site doesn't offer what you were expecting and all you can ascertain upfront is the weaselly "Unlimited Access" language used to intentionally deceive you.

its probably because the porn producers and directors are older now than 20 years ago and they dont get that wet flow(yes dics get wet) like they used to so the porns not up to par anymore if thats the case. Their 16 hr 4 disc anal or lesbian 2013-2016 comps that i have do have alot of hot scenes though, well worth the purchase.

Wicked is all condoms for penetration, but goes bareback for things like blowjobs and cumshots.

I'm saddened to see the decline in quality, also. But it's what Blacksix said. If your revenue goes way down, and hotels aren't buying your product as much as they used to, then you can't produce the same high quality movies.

^I agree with you but aren't there enough people like me who are willing to join a site that will offer porn feature movies with an actual plot, decent acting and good sex scenes like Wicked and other studios used to put out? Of course I may be fooling myself and those days are long gone and won't come back.

I can only speak for myself and say yes. If a good feature comes out, I will happily pay for it. When I realized how nicely integrated Moms Bang Teens and Girslway episodes are, I signed up. Now, MBT seems less integrated and looks cheaper. This may be my imagination.
But will enough other people pay for quality features? I don't think so. I have had dozens of frustrating conversations with people who either laugh at the idea of paying for porn (even while they're griping that there's no good porn out there or frowning over exploitation) or simply don't know how to access porn they can pay for. I'm serious. I mentioned hotmovies.com the other day, and people who watch a good deal of porn had never heard of it nor that type of platform (a la carte, streaming rental). Google the name of a porn movie and it's a real struggle to find a pay site at all, even the site that created the movie--tube sites fill the first two pages. No wonder people who would like to pay can't figure out how to do so easily and therefore just click one of the tube sites.

Are there enough pat362s out there willing to pay for feature porn with condom usage?
The condom usage hurts this company. However, one way to reduce the condom usage was to incorporate more blow job activity into their features. Not sure if they ever heeded that advice.
Like Black6 and many others have stated---too little too late.

I buy lots of porn but won't buy it if its condom porn. If every studio goes all condoms I will just look for older content thats condom free. I'm pretty sure there are lots of consumers like me.

I really don't care if condoms are used. I understand why people might have a preference, and I even understand why someone would elect to avoid condom-only porn, but there is also this grim outlier attitude that finds unsafe sex and potential for health problems to be hot. That grosses me out.

Actually the data has never substantiated that theory because Wicked may not be the powerhouse that it once was but it's decline has nothing to do with condoms because they have always been condom mandatory for the penetration part of their scenes. It's no secret that I am a strong proponent for the use of condoms in all penetration scenes because there is a health aspect that I can't overlook. I don't have any issue with them adding more BJ scenes in their movies but seeing as they shoot feature films than there has to be an actual reason for the BJ part which gonzo porn doesn't need a reason. That's why in many gonzo videos you will have the guy stopped fucking the girl so that she can give him a BJ and then continue fucking her.
The decline of Wicked is the same for every other studio...Porn theft in the form of Tube and Torrent sites. It's difficult to make money when your product is available for free on multiple free sites.

umm, MANDATORY condom use in porn is a big issue. just ask Brittany Andrews, who refuses to work without a condom. is it getting her less work? probably.
also ever heard of Prop 60?
There is a reason why people like us wear condoms in real life(most do not enjoy wearing them including me), but to watch pornstars, who get tested for STDs regularly wear them in porn, where we watch porn for the fantasy aspect get reminded of the dreadful feeling of wearing condoms.
In conclusion, condoms are not 100% perfect either and they are not the solution to the porn industry problems. also another point I almost forgot to mention, condoms costs money as well, so the porn sets will probably require a higher budget as well.

^Condom use in porn should be a huge issue but sadly except for whenever there is an election of some kind or there is another outbreak than it's a subject that mostly gets talked and argued about on forums like this one. The sad truth is that performers aren't given the choice because the ones that do require a condom probably don't get too many offers. that is unless you work for a pro-condom company.
Yes I heard about prop 60 and I also know that most vocal performers were against it. I personally think it would have been good for them but it's a moot point now that it's dead.
Condoms can never be 100% effective because there is always the human element to consider and we aren't perfect so whatever we touch by default can't be 100% effective. As for the extra cost. I think it would be super easy for the industry to get free condoms for the simple reason that if it can work in the industry than the condom manufacturers will have the best possible proof that their product is as good as they claim. They might even be willing to pay for some studies which would mean some outside money coming into the industry. Condoms are performers is a win-win situation except for vocal fans who complain that it takes away from the fantasy.

DVDs? people still use dvd players and blu-ray players?
with smart TVs and all sorts of android streamers and don't forget plain old HDMI cable from computer to the TV. using any sort of disc are not only outdated, it is not even environmentally friendly.
sorry typed too fast. LOL

Yes I do. I actively buy from companies like Vinegar Syndrome who is putting out some amazing releases and other companies like Wicked and Adam & Eve that still produce features worth watching.

Vinegar Syndrome is amazing at restoring classic adult cinema, their transfers to Blu-ray are incredible they put a lot of care into their releases. I really hope they're able to re-release some of the all-time classics like Deep Throat, Debbie Does Dallas and Devil in Miss Jones on Blu-ray. I know they'll do an amazing job with those.
I agree Wicked and Adam & Eve do still make solid features. Just last year Adam & Eve did Safe Landings with August Ames, and Wicked is at its core a feature studio.

still, if everyone here could download dvd or blu-ray equivalent on individual sites, people will download a file, rather obtain a physical disc.
also one other thing people forget is that dvd and blu-ray discs do not last as long as people think.
