Last thread I could find was from 2010 so...
First, I 'm not a noob. Benn lurking here for years, I don't really post much, and I got a new phone and can't remember my e-mail passwords so I had to re-register.
Anyways, like most of us I already knew this...
The "what I love in porn" and the "what I hate in porn" threads are almost IDENTICAL. The posters are the same, just on different sides.
So, I won't be Captain Obvious, I will be Universal Galactic Empire Sith Lord Darth Obvious and state that...(drum roll please)
EVERYONE LIKES SOMTHING and EVERYONE HATES SOMETHING in porn.
Obvious, but I guess seeing it written in threads brings on the whole reality of the topic.
(Don't mind my post too much. I have been drinking Pina Coladas and inhaling my legal medical medicine and watching Shae Summers eat pussy all morning and felt like a doing a drunken post. Just waiting for NHL hockey to start. )
Is there anything YOU have learned from this site. Sarcastic posts are encouraged.

I learned that a lot of porn fans are not actually satisfied by a lot of the porn produced. As you say part of this is because what one person likes another hates but I learned that commerical pornography is not some perfect reflection of the vieewers tastes or desires, a lot of us will put up with stuff we don't like if we like the performer.
Also, this forum on the non-Porn Pool subforums has a lot more intelligent talk and women posters than I think most would expect on a porn forum. And I don't mean people pretending to be women. In fact, ADT had the highest percentage of women posters than any other forum I've ever frequented on any subject.

Yes. I agree. However, I feel too many people here spend waaaaaay too much time focused and complaining about what they hate. With all the porn being produced and already out there and the ease to view it, I'll never understand why so many choose to spend so much time watching and criticizing stuff they claim to not like. And if there isn't anything out there they actually do like...porn isn't the problem...

^I tend to be one of those people who often complains about porn but I never hate it. I just dislike it. I don't believe that it's possible to hate the porn you watch. Now as to the reason why I complain well the simple answer is that I hope producers read my criticism and the criticism of others. After all we are their customers and while you might argue that we are in the minority when compared to all the satisfied customers. We happen to be a very vocal one and the old expression "The wheel that squeal gets the grease" seems very a propos because producers may read our negative comments and try to address them in future productions.

^ So which fans should the producers listen to? The ones who think there should always be anal in every scene or the ones that don't like anal? The ones who love rimming scenes or the ones that hate it? The ones like who like seeing the girls always naked or the ones who like them in sexy outfits? The ones who like seeing their favorite girls or the ones who want to always see new talent? the ones who like natural girls or the ones who like the enhanced pornstar look? The ones who hate tattoos or the ones who like tats? The ones that like a bit of a story set up or the ones that want to get right to the sex? The ones who like stereotypical IR or the ones that don't want any race play? The ones that prefers young girls or the ones into MILFs? The ones who want more rough sex or the ones that want more passion and chemistry? Etc., etc., etc.....
The makers of porn should make the porn that they feel they do best and makes them the most money. They should try new things from time to time and gage the reaction but it's a mostly a waste of time to try and please most fans because everyone wants something different. They should consider requests of which girls to try and book but not on the type of porn they should shoot. Particularly from a forum with fans who mostly have such narrow tastes. Most fans in this forum hated Parodies when they were big yet they were the biggest sellers out there at one point. Most fans here hated DIGITAL PLAYGROUND's movies yet they were top sellers for years. Some fans lately have been complaining about the amount of faux incest porn...yet it's very popular for some studios. Why should porn makers listen to fans to stop making what works for them? And in many cases the people complaining don't even pay for the porn they're complaining about.

^The fans that keep asking for anal, double penetration, interracial, or which ever other type of sex they happen to love are rarely criticising producers for a lack of those things so much as repeatedly asking performers to do those things. I would like to point out that those people appear to never be satisfied with their favorite performers output on a given type of sex scene so that even if a performer started to shoot anal on a weekly basis than there would still be critics saying that they want more.
Now while it's true that I always hope my favorite model will add as many different things to her dance card. I don't know if I care all that much if she does it every week or every month but I do hope that she does it more than once and hopefully with a few different companies if for no other reason than some are better pornographers than others. Probably the best example I can think of is Courtney Simpson. She was an amazing performer who could play a role as well as exude heat in everyone of her scenes and someone who left the industry way too early. She did almost everything a porn fan could ask for and not just once but she only did anal only twice and sadly for me it was for the same company. In some ways I would have preferred that she shoot only one anal scene but a different company or do a couple more for a different company than the one she chose.
I think the main reasons why Digital Playground was such a successful company is because their brand of porn had two huge advantages over most of their counterpart. The first one is that while the sex scenes where hardcore. Their flavor(for lack of a better word) was primarily vanilla and therefore could appeal to the couples market who would not have been comfortable with a more extreme type of gonzo sex. The other advantage is that because most of their movies had a plot and the sex scenes could be edited in such a way that they stopped being hardcore and became softcore. They could more easily be sold to various hotel chains looking to offer adult entertainment to their guest without getting too much negative feedback from family groups trying boycott those hotel chains because they offer smut.

I agree with everything you said here. However, those fans think their requests are just as valid as all the other fans. So we're back to my original point that producers can't listen to everyone because everyone wants something different and everyone thinks want they want is best for all involved. I totally understand having a preference but I see too many fans wanting all porn to change to their liking.
You're theories probably contribute to their success but basically the main reason for their success is because they made good porn lots of people liked. Plain and simple. Because what you describe about them could easily be applied to WICKED or VIVID and neither of them had the same kind of success at that time. Which points to another interesting thing about some of the people who post on this site that I mentioned before. Some of the people who like a particular type of sex can't seem to wrap their head around the fact that "good" porn exists that isn't the type of porn they like. They tend to see it as "crap" just because it doesn't appeal to them. So when that "crap" is popular they have to come up with a rationalization of why it's popular and those rationalizations seem to never include thinking maybe it's actually good porn that doesn't appeal to them. Lots of well done porn out there of all types but so many people refuse/can't se it because it doesn't appeal to their narrow appeal.
Not saying this all applies to you...I'm talking in general terms.

Increasingly the story is becoming that the customer is always right and that sadly fans aren't satisfied with the porn produced. Not even the good scenes that they rave about which is beyond sad if you ask me because in my view, how can you call yourself a porn fan if there's no scenes or stars who can possibly get you off in their scenes over and over again? I would say the biggest thing I learned from ADT is that there's a surprising number of fans who aren't really fans at all. You can almost always tell by the endless demands or the personal attacks they level at various performers, even if the performer gives in to the request - the 'fans' in question will have some complaint about their 'dream scene' and go back to nagging.

One of the things I've learned from ADT is that a higher percentage of fans care more about the sex act or the director than individual girl. I thought more people were like me and are a fan of the girl and would follow her from studio to studio to watch her stuff. But it seems much more people than I thought are into specific sex acts like gaping, gangbangs, rough sex, IR, or whatever and aren't picky about the girl as long as she's doing what they want to see. Then there are those who are fans of a specific director/site and will mostly watch that site or directors work regardless of the girls who pass through.

Echo these sentiments.
Also, what a great source of info this site is. Others here are devoted fans and do much of the work for you. Wish I had found this place years before I did.
I was surprised at the negativity here towards 2 of the biggest porn stars ever, Sasha Grey & Jenna Jameson. That was a revelation.

Something else I learned from ADT: pornography is like drugs for some fans and it's always about the next high, they don't care about the DVDs you did 3 years ago or the scenes that you shot two weeks ago. They are of the mindset you should eat, sleep, breath production of new scenes from the moment you wake up every day to the moment you go to sleep as a performer. Heaven forbid you take a vacation or a few days off or retire from b/g or refuse to do anal. Those along with the gangbang fanatics simply will have a fit which is strange to me because the same mentality doesn't exist for TV shows and movies. Rarely do you see dozens of fans pestering someone on the red carpet of a premiere about the next movie they might potentially be in.
Another thing I've learned from ADT is that despite the best efforts, manners when it comes to adult performers are still a hard thing to come by. Even on these forums, you have to have a thick skin as a performer because people will literally criticize and attack you for anything from weight loss to weight gain to tattoos. Even getting pregnant isn't sacred anymore as one performer found out after she had a son and fans were already bugging her for new scenes a few weeks after the birth. I wonder how many fans could handle the pressure if the tables were turned and the roles reversed.

^Are porn fans any different from everybody else when it comes to the things we love? I mean tech fans who buy a new piece of technology are probably already waiting for the next big thing to come out. Same thing if it's a TV show or a movie. The moment we have seen the new one. We already want to see the next one or the sequel. One of the biggest selling points of Netflix is that you can literally binge watch your favorite show in one sitting instead of having to wait an entire week to see the next episode. If HBO were to offer a similar service. Do you really think anyone would only watch one episode of Games of Thrones per week or binge watch it on the weekend?
If you are going to be an entertainer than you better have a thick skin because you will be attacked and I consider porn performers to be entertainers. It's much worse for adult entertainers because unlike their more mainstream counterparts. Porn performers not only have to worry about their facial appearance but also their physical appearance because they have to be naked to perform. Tabloids and entertainment magazine will spend weeks discussing the look a n actress or actor has and more often than not it's just facial reconstruction. Can you imagine what they would write if the actors and actresses were naked in their shows and movies on a regular basis?
There is no arguing that porn performers are real people but fans don't have a relationship with that real person. They have a relationship with the persona these real people created for themselves when they chose to do porn. That persona is the one fans see all the time and if these performers dare to change that persona by altering their looks (as is the norm for humans) then they will usually face the wrath of their fans for having dared to do that to their favorite fantasy. The only difference between today's performers changing their looks VS those from a decade or more ago is that Anti-Social Media has made the life of todays performer hellish because the vitriol they get bombarded with is relentless if they change something.

^ I think one of the biggest differences with some porn fans vs sport fans, fans of actors, or whatever is that many porn fans really don't have any respect for pornstars. They may like what the girl does as far as the sex act but as far as the girls themselves they just see the girl as an object to do things to. That's why so many fans can so easily turn on a girl for the smallest/lamest reasons.
And in general...I don't know what happened over the past year or so but more people on social media seem angry, bitter and have become flat out assholes. Lots of bitching, complaining and anger over everything and attacking people who disagree them. I know it's always been bad but lately it's been cranked up quite bit as of late. I think ADT in general has gotten a bit better over time but maybe the mods are working more to maintain that...I don't know...but the rest of social media...Ugh!

^Maybe porn performers have it worse than other entertainers but that's because our relationship with them is for the most part completely superficial. Other entertainers are known for more than what they do but porn performers are only known for what they do. That's the nature of the beast and I don't believe that most porn performers want to be known beyond their porn persona.
I'm sorry for introducing politics in the thread but it's easy to see why so many assholes feel embolden in the way they can talk about people on Social Media. There's one currently in the White House who spends large amounts of his days insulting people, organisations and what not on Social Media so why would anyone else feel shame in being assholes if the President isn't? What's worse is that since the owners of Social Media platforms are unwilling to block one of the most powerful assholes on their platform then how can they then turn around and block lesser assholes??

I actually agree with you which is sad because I actually research my favorite stars. I love to learn about them; their stories and lives - what lies beneath the 'larger than life' persona. I find the deeper I can look, the more intriguing the performer becomes. I really get into people who can wear their alter ego like a second skin. Abigail Mac is a sweetheart both on camera and in her interviews, Adriana Chechik is as intense off camera as she is on from what I've read of her. That's the kind of thing I look for in people who become ones to watch. On a different note; I half agree with what you and Pat both have said. Realistically speaking, studios can't cater to every single fan and a number of fans will NEVER been satisfied with whatever scenes a given star has in the pipeline. I am more like Draxxx to a large extent. I tend to follow the stars rather than want specific sex acts. However what I do look for in scenes is CHEMISTRY and AUTHENTICITY, that nail biting, psychological tension which leads to seduction to an explosive orgasmic finish - that's what's gonna do it for me. I don't require them to go through positions A-L, as long as we get from seduction to foreplay to sex to orgasm; I am all good.

I don't expect most porn watchers to go as far as do research pornstars. It's fine that you and others do but I'd just like to see more of an overall respect of performers from so-called "fans". With actors, athletes, singers, etc., people at least have a certain amount of respect for them because they see those types of entertainment as needing to have certain types of skills while they see porn performers as something anyone can do...which is true to an extent but just like with other forms of entertainment the ones that are the best rise to the top of their fields. Also, the thinking of many fans that porn girls are dumb and couldn't possibly do anything else is just sad. I understand that many people tend to do this as a way to put others down to actually feel better about themselves and it doesn't only happen with pornstars but in the porn fandom it's a lot higher than with other forms of entertainment. The truth is that yeah, there may be a few not so bright porn girls but from what I've seen many of them are reasonable intelligent and some are actually down right smart. In most cases I'd say many of them are smarter than the fans who find the need to put them down. I've seen lots of fans say they don't watch the behind the scenes footage or read interviews...I wonder if that's a deliberate attempt to not see them as actual people and makes it easier to see them as the sexbots or disposable people they want them to be. In any case it all contributes to many having a certain type of disrespect for pornstars that results in dismissing them in general, lack of respect of what they do, feeling free to attack them on social media, not caring if they are hurt making porn, getting angry when they have the nerve to not want to do everything a fan wants them to, etc., etc....
I may be off base with this and I'm sure some will disagree but I feel the people who watch porn for the sex act instead of following specific girls are the ones who complain about porn the most and loudest. They tend to be the ones who complain about no one doing anything new or the old stuff being better or about a director using the same girls over and over or about directors/studios/talent not pushing boundries. Of course they feel this way because when a person only wants to watch a specific type of porn over and over and over again they going to get bored with it at some point. So they need that constant string of new girls doing those same acts or directors pushing things to another level or tossing in the next new ridiculous "sex act" in order to make it fresh for them. That's why vomiting, gaping, spitting and such come about. It's the mentality of "What else can we do to this girl because they've seen it all before...". It's "Hey, what if we have her push out the inside of her anus?! It's not actual sex but some guys will like it because it looks degrading!". "Hey, what about making her vomit? Normally people don't like seeing vomit but if we make her vomit while degrading her and showing male superiority, some guys will go nuts for it!"
I tend to follow certain girls and not get bored so quickly because I'm watching her do a variety of scenes. Sure, some are better than others but I enjoy watching the girl perform so seeing the girl perform with different studios/directors keeps it fresh. A JULES JORDAN scene is different from DOGFART scene is different from a EVIL ANGEL scene is different from a BRAZZERS scene, etc.,etc... Plus I tend to like a fairly wide variety of girls and all of them bring a different aspect of things I like to their scenes. So I don't need the crutch of all of them doing anal or gangbangs or extreme sex to keep me interested...even though I really enjoy certain girls when they do those things and mostly want to see them do those things while others I'm very content that they never do any of those things. All girls are different and bring different things to the table. And lastly, I simply don't watch porn I don't like. Too much content out there for me to watch stuff I don't like and complain about it existing if it isn't hurting anyone.

Also, what I've learned from ADT is that some people want real world morals and Politically Correctness in the fantasy world of porn. Which I continue to find strange. Of course I want the performers and talent treated that way but as far as the fantasy scenarios, scenes and themes, played out in porn...it seems strange that people want PC in porn when one of the reasons for porn is to explore fantasies that might not be PC. Also, strange to read is people claiming to want porn to do the right thing...but only about stuff they want to see. It's horrible for a performer to play a part and use the "N" word but fine and dandy for a woman endure actual physical pain to make a scene? "Painful Ass Fucking" is applauded while playing a "thug" is an unacceptable horror? Big black men banging innocent white girls is a very bad thing but older white guys preying on high school girls is great porn? It's all sad , funny, and interesting to read people justify what they like and condemn what they don't.

Funny you mention respect, I was just thinking recently that if adult performers treated their 'fans' as badly as the 'fans' treated them both on Twitter and in various threads here - this site would crash due the sheer anarchy of the venom being unleashed upon this magnificent sexual athletes.

^ In the old days of this site it seems like there were a lot more pornstars posting a lot more often. But there were a lot more fans/posters getting deactivated because they were being rude to the pornstars. Yet at the same time the pornstar threads were much more interesting to read because there was more interesting/fun conversations going on. Nowadays it's just mostly "I don't like this...", "I don't like that...", "When are you gonna do this?", "You need to that...". I understand why many girls prefer to mostly stick to their Twitter accounts. They get the of the same type of interaction on their accounts but at least most of the followers are actual fans instead of being on a site where a random hater feels free to hop on a thread and throw insults at her.
But to be fair the majority of posters here are okay most of the time. It's only that small percentage of flakes that go too far sometimes.

I try to treat adult performers with respect because the personalities, the stories, the character beneath it all is as fascinating as the performance. Yes, I recognize I'm probably in the minority of that mindset but there's something to be said for performers who are as beautiful and deep inside as they are out.

One thing I have learned from ADT to my dismay is that no-one listens anymore. I'll give an example: an adult performer asked people in her thread to stop speculating on her personal life and what may or may not be going on, of course one person couldn't do that and as a result; her twitter is nowhere to be found. The argument could be made in this fashion along with others such as the folks who pester performers to do nothing but make scenes from sunup till sundown and those who can't take no for answer in pushing performers to do scenes they clearly have no interest in doing - we are as bad as those who want to make the entire business illegal. Performers are human like we are; they have hearts and souls, feelings and issues. The lack of respect for that is very disheartening to say the least.

As a Brit, I have been refreshingly surprised by the lack of right wing political views I've read from the Americans who make up the vast majority of subscribers. It's easy for the rest of the world to assume from things like Hollywood gung ho and revenge movies, Fox News, various Trumps/Bush's and Oliver North type figures, that every American wants to carry an AK-47, invade every non-US-wannabe country and execute anyone daring to commit a crime. Having read many of the world news threads I am reassured and I feel the need to apologise!

^ People on this forum live in the suburbs and beyond.
Most Americans are significantly to the left of the politicians who claim to represent us. For instance, 70% of Americans support Medicare for All– even though the media almost never discusses the option.
The media distorts our impression of Americans. For instance, they covered almost every rally Trump held, and gave Bernie almost no free media coverage at all– even though his rallies turned out more supporters than Trump rallies. Trump kicked Hillary's ass in West Virginia, but when the teachers went on strike (without the support of their union) in West Virginia, the whole state supported them, and the State government had to give in to every one of their demands. So one of the reddest states in the US will stand with teachers who are are strike– against the recommendation of their Union. The weakness of unions in America isn't just about Reagan, it's that the Unions are compromising with management, are allied with the Democratic Party (which is deeply compromised and compromising), and are part of the system that acts against working class interests.
About 60 million Americans voted for each of Trump and Hillary. (Most of these were voting for what they saw as the lesser of two evils.) 100 million Americans were so disgusted with both options that they didn't vote.

You don't have to apologize, if there's one big difference between the UK and the US - your elections actually matter and can make a difference. In the US, unbeknown to most people - we have a corporatocracy and because of this; voting is irrelevant. Seriously, you could put Daffy Duck on the ballot and if the corporations say no; there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it. Can't change the system either because we're all so depending on it from the companies that make our electronics to those making our clothes and administering our paychecks which in turn dictate our lifestyle. Hence why I laugh at the NRA & nationalists because realistically speaking - corporations are not beholden to any country. That means for all intents and purposes, you could reduce the US population to close to 0 and it won't affect their bottom line at all. If it really sank in just how anything but free everyone from NRA to liberals truly are, it would be like Heaven's Gate all over again.

"But it's funny. Any time people call me to do a scene they never want me to do the new style. They say, 'Corrupt me, kill me. Be rough. Please destroy me.' So in my mind, he's shooting and he's the one who tells me this doesn't work any more. She's the main star and she asked me to do this. Where is the problem? It's me? That I'm only able to deliver this? Or, people can only see this in me? And this goes through my mind during the scene. I was-here we are again. ... Because personally, I think somehow Greg Lansky was right. To make a crossover at the right time. You cannot keep doing the same over and over and over."
Rocco continues, "On the other side, when things are so real-when you find the real person who really wants this-you should to do this. You shouldn't stop because fashion. Because people now turns in a different direction. There is always space for sexuality. Sexuality is 360. There's people who probably don't like what Greg Lansky doing. And there's people who doesn't like what we're doing. Personally, I think you have to do it with the real people who likes this. It's not like fashion. It's not like, 'OK, I'm working with this guy. This guy knows very well how to do this. So we will do this.' And this is what to me, a little bit confuse me. When I get this, always this.
"To me it's like, should we do always this? Or it's because my face shows only this? This is the main question I put always myself. I'm able to do everything. I'm able to do this. I'm able to be romantic. I'm able to be a lover. I'm able to fuck the girl in Greg Lansky's style, absolutely, no problem. But something must be always there with passion ... because I don't like fakeness. That can be in a different direction. But the reason why I tell you this is because this scene turn out to be exactly the way I thought it would turn out." - https://avn.com/business/articles/video/angela-meets-rocco-for-i-am-angela-documentary-showcase-800842.html
I learned from ADT that thankfully there are a few kickass male pornstars like this legendary stud who understand the importance of passion, the explosiveness of a connection that takes the erotic factor of a scene and turns it ALL the way up.

It seems like one sees on regular ADT threads the perennial question being asked: How is a particular adult performer not getting booked and gaining more recognition? It's not about a lack of work, it's honestly more a matter of being fascinating and marketable which is almost ironic considering the number of trolls on Twitter who routinely insult performers by basically insinuating that nobody wants to know what they think or how they feel; the trolls claim all we want to see is them get banged. I would argue otherwise and venture to say that among the ingredients for having a longterm successful career in adult is your personality alongside your looks and performance. There has to be something about you, some unique quality you bring to your scenes that makes people want to see more. What I have learned from ADT is that for every person who has that element, there are dozens if not hundreds who don't. Truly eye opening the sheer number of nice people who just forever whatever reason, aren't thrilling enough or stimulating enough to ascend the Mt Everest of the industry but it takes a special breed to make it here. And there is no one size fits all model or roadmap to success for newbies to follow.

^ Keep in mind that not every girl actually wants to work non-stop. There are girls who only do porn to enhance their other businesses and shooting porn is just one revenue stream (that may not be their most profitable). Lots of girls live in other states and just fly out to shoot a few booked gigs then go back home.

And really, often enough the answer to "why is performer X not getting booked?" is "because she's developed a reputation for bad work ethic / flakiness". But people don't want to hear that about girls they find hot.

I don't think you need to work non stop to stay relevant or in circulation. I just think there's alot that goes into being a successful high visibility performer that some people have, some develop and others simply do not.

I agree. But when talking about what some fans want...A lot of them want to see their fav girl churn out a lot of content because they like watching her. Not realizing or caring that if a girl does that the chances are higher they'll burn out on seeing her much more quickly and her scenes will become much less special much sooner. Some girls can get away with making lots of content because they shot across so many porn genres. Someone like Angela White she's so versatile and can do so many genres and work for so many different types of studios. However, there are many girls who aren't as versatile and are kinda stuck doing content for a specific genre. Some girls are stuck being only able to do "teen" genre stuff because of their age and looks. Some girls choose not to do the harder edge stuff so they will probably never work for the big studios like EVIL ANGEL, JJV, KINK, LEGAL PORNO, or whoever and will only work for NAUGHTY AMERICA, NEW SENSATIONS, GIRLFRIEND FILMS, or whoever. Some girls limit themselves because they don't do anal or IR. Those types of girls may have a certain amount of success in a particular genre but may burn out faster with fans because their audience gets tired of seeing them at some point and a studio will only book them so many times.
There's no one size fits all business model for pornstars. Some girls can shoot non-stop and be popular for years. Some girls don't have what it takes to be popular more than a few months. Some girls never become a big name but have worked in porn steadily for years. Some girls get by on looks alone. Some girls get by on being willing to do extreme sex acts. Some girls owe their career to having big boobs. Some girls build a career off of looking young. Many reasons for a girl's popularity and many ways for a girl to carve out their career. And sometimes listening to fans isn't what's best for a girl.

Angela White is a VERY special case that comes around ONCE in a blue moon. I say that because she essentially lives in porn and her output is staggering, with that being said I agree with you. There are too many good performers who either get burnout, bored, get married or have something happen that prevents them from staying for long. I totally agree on the whole 'listening to fans' isn't necessarily what's best for the performer.
On a different note entirely: with another allegation of sexual assault within the industry - I think it's high time that some independent investigative, impartial agency be formed to handle this kind of thing. I say that as a neutral yet outraged fan because there have been one too many circumstances of 'he said, she said' which results in the alleged perpetrator never being punished once they weather the bad press. I'm not taking sides but there needs to be some way to get to the bottom of these accusations and due to the stigma surrounding the porn business, highly doubtful the cops are going to get involved. Plus if your concern about the welfare of performers only extends into STD testing as opposed to also identifying the potential shady element that is routinely found at the fringe, then in my book - you aren't really going all the way in performer safety.

Sexual assault issues are getting out of hand. There is no place in society for it and something has to be done about it. Crazy thing is, the victims get blacklisted for speaking up about the harm thats being done to them. How does the victim get punished while the one that is doing the harming continues on with life as normal? Like something has to be done about how corrupt things are when it comes to sexual assault issues.
On a positive note, there are some incredible and I mean incredible women in the industry. I mentioned on this site the great year Whitney Wright has had. Angela White and Kissa Sins just had an epic scene for the ages for the We Like Girls project. Julia Ann continues to get better no matter age. Cherie DeVille, I dont believe her age because she looks amazingly young. Thats just to name a few because I can go on and on. Not just with beauty but the storytelling and the acting with the performers have been off the chart. I still cant get over Cherie DeVille and Kenna James in "A Delicate Vice" for Girlcore. Abigail Mac acting is off the charts. Again I can go on and on. We as fans need to really appreciate it instead of criticizing a performer because they dont choose to do a certain thing we would like for them to do. If we put it out there and it happens then awesome. If not then it just wasnt meant to happen. There are alot of dream pairings that seem like an obvious must happen but it never happened. I put it out there and if it still didnt happen then its disappointing but I still appreciate all the great work that was done and still being done. At the same time Im hoping that my dream pairing will eventually happen lol.

Unfortunately there have always been tales of abuse in the industry, aothough not at the levels that opponents of porn would have one believe.
A legal system that has little to no interest in protecting sex workers is part of the problem but also historically the power disparity between performers and directors/producers. I do feel that has shifted and hence why more of the performer incidents are coming to light.

Could we at least have a system then where performers can blacklist directors and not have it be what appears to be so one sided?
On a different note, I recently realized on ADT that porn is almost more polarized than mainstream entertainment but not in the way you think. You know how we have the rom-com genre, the scifi genre and then scifi with a dose of action or adventure mixed in?? We're not really into mixed cocktails when it comes to pornography. Almost all fans I imagine would agree that everything needs to have its own category. The anal needs to have its volume, same with lesbian, IR and such. I don't think to date I've ever seen like an ALL SEX category for porn.

You think so? I don't care about such strict division of tastes. I think those that do are just the most vocal on forums, that doesn't mean they accurately reflect the tastes of all porn fans.
As a contrasting example, let's remember the enduring appeal of the Showcase porno that features one performer, from Gianna to Annette Schwarz, Asa Akira, Kristina Rose, Alexis Texas, Lexi Belle, Mia Malakova up to more recent Showcases of Angela White. These feature an array of scenes: pov, blowjob, gang bang, threesome, one-on-one, anal, lesbian, with the star of the Showcase the centre of each respective scene.

Showcases and features are a rare exception - most porn scenes have to have something you can label them by. Gonzo for example is usually as far as I understand - B/G material. I've yet to see a gonzo G/G line that I am aware of; each dvd has its own genre to follow which makes it easier for the buyer rather than putting on the side of each DVD how many scenes of B/G, G/G or anal they can expect to get.
On a different note, finally someone at Gamma has been taking serious notes and put appropriate rules in place that EVERY studio should take notice of.
Maintain appropriate boundaries in professional relationships with Performers, and not use the power inherent in [their] position to exercise unreasonable or inappropriate authority over Performers, crew members or other Representatives
Not engage in physical, psychological or sexual harassment of any Performer, crew member or Representative. Harassment may be a single incident or a persistent pattern of behavior where the purpose is to create a hostile, offensive, or an intimidating environment
No Representative, Contractor or Subcontractor shall demand or solicit any personal sexual favors from Performers on or off-set, offer the exchange of work, gifts or influence in casting in return for sexual favors from prospective Performers, or solicit or accept gifts or sexual favors off-set in exchange for casting and/or preferential treatment on set.
Regarding its "go-see" policy, a Performer/Representative meeting should be scheduled and at the time of the meeting, a third party shall be present. Any Contractor, Representative or crew member found arranging private "go-sees" will be terminated.
It is not permissible or acceptable to use a position of authority to imply, suggest, promise, threaten, coerce, lure, entice or reward Performers with casting or work in return for sexual or other forms of favors. Being in a position of authority, it is critical for everyone to feel safe and supported. It is never, under any circumstances, appropriate to engage in sexual activity while working for Gamma on set.
All performers will be required to complete a checklist of acts or scenarios with which they are not comfortable (known as a "no list") and exchange the same with other Performers in the film and the Contractor prior to the start of any production.
The Contractor shall be responsible for discussing the "no lists" with the Performers and all parties must sign off on the checklists. The Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring the points specified on the checklists are respected during filming.
Any Representative, Contractor or Subcontractor who witnesses acts of sexual harassment, is advised of any incidents of harassment or any violation of this Code of Conduct will be held accountable to immediately report the incident to Gamma.
If a Performer forgot personal property or has to finalize paperwork, for example, the Contractor or Representative will arrange for the property to be returned to a common place or the Performer's agent, or for the paperwork to be completed in a common place. No Performer crew member or Representative should ever be invited to a Contractor's house alone.

One of the hardest things in the world as a porn fan is to respect the work & effort of the performers even if the scenes they are most proud of do absolutely nothing to turn you on. Tricky to bite one's tongue and not verbally lash out because you think you've seen them better, do better or perform at a higher level but I do just that out of respect.

There are many fans that need learn and understand that porn producers and talent are making scenes/movies to the best of their abilities for their audience. No director or talent goes to the porn set with the thought of doing purposely bad work. Not every fan has the same tastes and wants to see the same thing. Not every director wants the same kind of performance from the talent. The constant bitching because a particular studio/star isn't doing the exact kind of porn that fan wants to see gets old and quite frankly annoying after awhile. Guess what? Not every porn star wants to do anal or gangbangs and they don't have to. Accept it and move on. BRAZZERS isn't EVIL ANGEL or LEGAL PORNO and isn't trying to be or wants to be. Accept it and move on. With all the porn and porn options available today sitting around bitching about not get what you want seems so silly and such a waste of time.

^I am one of those people that regulates the things he post in the threads dedicated to porn sites because I find that many of them do a poor job and while I think it sometimes feels good to vent. it also gets tiresome to always look at the negative. I agree that most producers and performers don't go into work to make a bad porn but I'm not so sure if many of them care one way or the other. At least not as long as they keep getting hired. I think that most producers have been reduced to making porn as cheaply as possible because their profit margin has gotten smaller and smaller over the years and that is bound to affect the kind of porn they can produce.

I stated above that money is a major factor for why producer do a less than stellar job when it comes to the porn they produce and one of the best example of that is the obvious differences between Girlsway and Pure Taboo. Two sites produced by the same people, shot by the same people, starring the same people and shot in the same locations but have very different outcome in the quality of their product.

Girlsway releases on average 20 or more videos each month while Pure Taboo only releases about 8. If both of them have a similar monthly production budgets than PT has a clear advantage over GW. Their significantly smaller release schedule means that they can spend more money than GW on developing their scenarios, longer preparing the performers for their role, longer shooting the scenes and longer editing the finish product. That's why I often complain about GW because if they were to adopt a similar philosophy as PT than I am certain the finish product would be better and it wouldn't negatively affect their profit margin since I think many porn fans would rather have quality over quantity.

It's a tricky thing. I've never been to either site but I'd be willing to bet that there are fans at PT who complain about the new content output. There people who appreciate the quality of scenes and the effort put into them and there are those who couldn't care less. A director could put a couple together with great chemistry, shoot on a nice location, have great lighting, tight editing, and do a great scene overall and there will be those who call the scene shitty because it didn't have anal. Meanwhile, another director can shot a scene with an old couch, in a dingy, poorly lit room with bad audio and some fans will call it great because the girl had anal with a guy she could barely handle. Everyone has different priorities.

Also, I'm not saying fans shouldn't complain about a subpar scene. I'm saying it's an incredible waste of time to complain about a site not giving you what you want when clearly it's what most others want and the thing(s) you don't like are the top rated on the site. If a person thinks there's too much rimming, IR, non anal, or whatever and the majority of the other posters are asking for even more of those things a bulb should go off in that person's head and they should move on instead of hanging around to complain the site isn't giving them what they want.
Why complain about a lack of anal on a site when there are sites that specialize in anal? Why complain about too much rimming on a site when the vast majority of porn have no rimming at all? There's no excuse to anyone not watching the type of stuff they want to see. It's not like there's a lack of porn out there that they have to settle for stuff they don't like.

^I don't have any hard facts to show that less output wouldn't affect the overall business model of GW but seeing as many popular sites don't update as often as GW and they are still popular today than it's possible to assume that a reduction in quantity wouldn't be seen negatively. Especially if future scenes show a drastic improvement in the quality. Another reason why I think having fewer updates wouldn't necessarily be seen as a bad thing is that GW is now under the Adult Time banner so unless you are a g/g only fan then the fact that you get access too many more sites and content will mean that members will still be getting plenty of great porn on a weekly basis to satisfy their needs.

While I think having two performers that have chemistry is great. How often is it needed in most gonzo videos where it's mostly about where his penis is going than any actual connection. Chemistry is more important in a scenario driven scene because that lack of chemistry is likely to be revealed during the much longer non-sex portion of the scene. Of course lack of any acting talent is also revealed but I think most performers can play a simple role if given the proper time to prepare.

I try not to complain about lack of anal on some sites because they rarely shoot it but one of the reasons why I sometime wish they did more of it is because they shoot scenario driven porn scenes. As much as I appreciate guys like Adriano and Lansky or women like Mason who are able to get non-anal performers to do anal and do it well. Their type of porn while very different is ultimately gonzo in one form or another and ultimately that is porn performers having sex with porn performers and frankly I want something different. I want to see a performer put her all in her character so that I'm not watching generic performer #1 do exactly the same thing she has done a dozen time before and to do that you need to give the the time to prepare.

Yes, after watching countless other fans all find something to lambast performers about because even if the performer did their best, that particular part of the peanut gallery was left unsatisfied. I admittedly can be a vicious critic and I've stepped out of that role quite deliberately.

I'm almost certain that it's not that we have a 90% anal fiend, 80% IR and 88% Lansky fan populations on here. It's that they are among the most vocal which tells me that the G/G fan base needs to really get in there and start talking LOUDER.

^I don't think it's because they are more vocal but that there are simply more of them and the reason why is that there are more of those types of sites than there are of g/g sites. You can literally count the number of sites that regularly produce g/g porn on one hand. Lansky now has 6 sites and none of them produce g/g porn.
