Although the director/studio may not be adverse to the idea, they will certainly be concerned about sales potential and profitability.
Maybe thet will leave it more for Joey Silvera's 'Rogue Adventures'?

This could be a domination-type thing in which, say, a man and a woman play with another man. Or it could be a group scene with two men and two women all doing things to each other. The fashion industry is full of gay/bi men, so it naturally follows that this should be reflected in it. [Link] |

If anyone is sufficiently offended by male bisexuality in a straight porn movie, just press skip for that particular scene. I also don't think it would affect sales. In fact, it may increase sales as female purchasers come on board. |
| sir wankalot Member UK 904 Posts 5/03 | In my experience there are more women who favour contact between 2 females rather than 2 males. And rather than skipping the 'offensive' scene, many customers may not buy the film in the first place. Otherwise i am sure we would see alot more bisexual male action in other mainstream porn flicks. I think it all comes down to the studio taking a risk. It would be interesting to hear what other directors here on ADT think. |
| arthur Deactivated User 165 Posts 9/04 | I was reading some internet message boards after the TV show Desperate Housewives showed an erotic male-male kiss in America about a week ago. You would be surprised as to how many female posters were saying how hot the scene was. Many women were saying it turned them on! I think times have changed sufficiently to embrace male bisexuality in some straight porn movies. The Fashionistas sequel would be perfect. I hope John Stagliano considers it. |
| DVDwishes ComX 1060 Posts 7/04 | Rocco is retiring soon. Belladonna is married and done doing B/G. Taylor is off being a domme, and that's about it. that's the core cast right there. all of whom are busy doing other things. don't get me wrong, I want a sequel so I can become famous because I've already written it, it's just up to Buttman to see the brillance and make it happen and no there is no dude-dude love in it ... because I didn't want it in there and it wasn't necessary in the story I wrote. now seeing as how Buttman is far more foward-looking than I am since he's been in the adult industry for 20+ years then I think he would've had some guy-guy love in the first one if he wanted it. if you watch the bonus disk Rocco jokes about having sex with Manual. could've happend, but it didn't. nothing more to say there. |
| arthur Deactivated User 165 Posts 9/04 | Why don't you want some male-male stuff in a possible sequel to The Fashionistas? It's an adult film based on the fashion world, for goodness' sakes. There are gay/bi men left, right and center in the fashion world. Whether you like it or not, it's appropriate to the theme of the film. It would also balance out the abundance of female-female stuff. |

I don't follow political codes or morales and you'll find that the best writers NEVER do. and the only real female-female stuff in that entire film was the scene between Belladonna and Taylor St. Claire. |
| DVDwishes ComX 1060 Posts 7/04 | on the commentary track Tricia and John made mention of a the sequel to the Charlie's Angels film. they both liked how Cameron Diaz's butt looked really nice on the poster where the three women are faced away from the camera and all you see are their asses and Cameron's two fingers indicating there is going to be another film soon. my idea for the sequel would've been to do just this same thing with three women wearing Fashionista clothing with the big "Fs" on the ass. and of course having at least one of the girls pointing to the "F" as Chelsea Blue did in the film and another one holding two fingers in a Peace sign to signal that another Fashionistas film was on the way. now ... tell me that ain't beautiful |

| jamesn Senior Member Cambridge, MA 750 Posts 1/04 | Why couples porn has failed-and how to improve it I want to see male-male scenes in straight porn I personally think that there should be male-male touching and other male-male interactions in straight porn movies. It never ceases to amaze the number of supposedly open-minded men (and some women) who decry any display of male-male affection or sexual interaction while applauding the female-female. I refer to it as the homophobic double standard. Anyway, I hope the porn producers of tomorrow are less fearful than the ones of today. To compare revulsion of vomiting to revulsion of male-male interactions is quite an appalling analogy. Anyone who says that is really in cahoots with the Jerry Falwells of this world. Jerry Falwell might say exactly the same thing, and I wouldn't be surprised if he already has. On the issue of male-male, sometimes you really have to wonder whose side the straight porn industry is on - the libertarians or the religious conservatives. |

| tricia_devereaux Evil Angel DVD Patience is a virtue, but who wants to be virtuous? 4283 Posts 4/00 | Taylor's character is done at the end of Fashionistas. Rocco isn't really retired, and Belladonna hasn't necessarily said she will NEVER do b/g again. And even if Rocco and Bella were out, there could be a story that could happen after the fashionistas company became wildly popular and branched out to another city with new employees and new experiences. DVDWishes - thing is, you asked me about part 2 so long ago that we were still exhausted from part 1 and didn't want to think about any big projects let alone a sequel to the biggest project either of us had ever done. arthur - sorry, I would think that the inside jokes about Rocco and Manuel's characters are as far as things should go in a movie with a budget THAT big. Even though we hope that Fashionistas appealed to some females, we would never kid ourselves that we could make up enough sales with female buyers to make up for the guys who would decide NOT to buy it if there was male bisexuality in the movie. That being said, on a personal level, I wouldn't mind seeing a little bit of male bisexuality in some MUCH less expensive movies. I think Joey Silvera's Strap Attack series is a good start, because it shows guys getting fucked by girls wearing strap-ons. From there, maybe there will be a next step that some studios may take. Now - back to the Fashionistas sequel topic. You can all hypothesize all you want. Truth is, John is very protective of his ideas when they're still in developement (makes it easier for him to abandon ideas that aren't working), so whatever it is that he is working on, I won't be able to say anything until he's well past the storyline / script-writing / pre-production phase and well into the casting / getting ready to shoot phase. |

| arthur Deactivated User 165 Posts 9/04 | If straight porn is porn for straight men then why is straight porn marketed to male/female couples? On the latter basis, straight porn would still be bisexual porn because it is also targeted towards bisexual women. Besides, what exactly is a straight man? My experience in life is that most men, including those who call themselves straight, are at least bi-curious.
Thanks for your insight. But I believe that a great director like John Stagliano could incorporate male bisexuality into a sequel without scaring off the masses. He might even pick up an additional audience. Times have changed - bisexuality, including male bisexuality, is depicted in mainstream Hollywood movies and TV shows. Moreover, it would make logical sense to show a little male bisexuality in a porn movie based on the fasion industry, surely. Let's not cave into fear on this issue. |

| MLyons Senior Member 1617 Posts 8/02 | You've made your point. Could you back off a bit about it? It's starting to read like this issue is really all you have to discuss, and if you're not careful, the people you most want to listen to you will simply end up ignoring you. One fan's opinion isn't going to change the way things are done. It takes a lot of people over a long period of time in order to affect change--that's the economic nature of it. I'm just saying, there's nothing wrong with what you're asking, but at this point, it's starting to read like a crusade, and that will backfire on you. |
| respect Member 200 Posts 11/04 | Otherwise there wouldn't be so many male-female-female threesomes or lesbian scenes in "couples porn" because bisexual women are a minority. Bisexual "couples porn" wouldn't be labeled as "straight porn". The camera would not focus on showing the girl. The dvd covers would show couples instead of single girls... But that's another debate.

I was all lined up to buy Ass Collector with Rocco in it. this was just after The Fashionistas came out and I was hoping for a reprise of that type of filmmaking. I read all the reviews on it, got all the information I could, even was even on my wish list until ... I read a review I had not seen before by astroknight "Melinda Casta, looking fabulous in a rubber dress and studded collar, explores a rave party / fetish sex club with way too many people to name." sounds great to me until ... "Most everything you can dream of sexually is here. There’s guys getting facials from other guys, bondage action, transvestites, grannies and grampies getting busy, and more." I was cool with the bondage since I enjoy it myself. I've only ever been with older women before, so grandparents having sex would've been interesting to see and a turn-on. HOWEVER I had to stop the presses when I read the little sentence about dudes jacking off on other dudes faces. now call me close minded, but that killed the whole thing for me. even though it was in the background and not part of the immediate action it was a no go. I'm just one guy who didn't want this in his film as a distraction piece. think of what would happen if you placed that in the fore front of a smash hit like The Fashionistas how many would not pick it up. oh yeah, FYI, not every woman on this planet thinks that two men kissing is sexy, that arguement just doesn't float. just like NOT every dude thinks two women kissing or licking each other down is a turn-on or the best fantasy in the world. and along the lines of NOT every woman is bi-sexual. gender stereotypes are just as stupid and ignorant as racial ones. stay open minded, but don't have your ideals close you off to everyone elses. |
| arthur Deactivated User 165 Posts 9/04 | The reason you don't find many guys in the military stating they're bi or bi-curious is the don't ask, don't tell policy. If you openly express your same-sex attraction, you're out. DVD Wishes A few seconds of male-male was sufficient to prevent you from purchasing The Ass Collector?? That's truly sad. |
| Fockwolfe Member 104 Posts 9/04 |
Just based on my personal life history of getting hit on by other guys, I'd say most guys are 100% straight. If most guys were bi, getting hit on would happen hourly. |
| arthur Deactivated User 165 Posts 9/04 | You should read the research by Alfred Kinsey. He proposed a 1-6 scale of sexuality, one end being exclusively gay and the other exclusively straight. From recollection, his research found that most men were somewhere between these extremes. As for most guys identifying as straight, that's a different issue. What one identifies as does not always correspond to what one actually is. Self-identification is the product of societal pressures including homophobia. |

| arthur Deactivated User 165 Posts 9/04 | So a man getting a facial is setting the scene for "total debauchery and perversion", eh? Would you say the same about a female-female scene? I suspect not. You, like so many liberal porn types, have double standards when it comes to same-sex activity, celebrating the female-female but decrying the male-male. You are entitled to your preference, by all means, but please don't turn your preference into a closed-minded philosophy. |

girl-girl scenes are fantasies for men who haven't been down that road, I have, and lesbians. unforunately, most girl-girl scenes are still targeted towards men, but that's all changing with new video lines that keep coming out. for me threesomes weren't enjoyable because I like to think about one woman at a time. the lsat one I had was enjoyable because they both had large breasts having said that I'll remind you of that same post in which I said that I had just seen The Fashionistas and I was hoping that Ass Collector would have a similiar vibe to it. the dunegon scene in that film was un-real, and in my mind that is how I pictured Ass Collector . I had no intention or desire to have this gorgeous woman stop and watch as some dude spanked his crank like it was the last thing he'd do to nut off on another dude's face. now how the reviewer saw this action when it only lasted a few seconds is beyond me, but it's enough for me not to rent or buy it. you can call me "sad," all you want. I've been called worse. |

| arthur Deactivated User 165 Posts 9/04 | Straight liberals have been trying to keep gay and bi men out of the sexual mainstream for years. And to a large part they've succeeded. Well, no more.
No-one is saying you have to like male-male scenes. What I find abhorrent is the way the straight porn industry dismisses them out of hand. The straight porn industry is as prejudicial to male bisexuals as the Ku Klux Klan is to blacks. |

I can sit here and have this discussion with you all day long because I enjoy a good debate ... however, don't fuckin' pull some sexual preference over skin color shit with me you must be crazy with that shit! I can jump into bed with anyone I want to, but unlike Michael Jackson, I can't change my skin color and don't want to |
| arthur Deactivated User 165 Posts 9/04 | I am not going to go over to some gay porn ghetto because you tell me to. I'm going to stand right here in the sexual mainstream where I believe the male-male belongs. You also disparagingly refer to it as a sexual preference. I take exception to this - sexual orientation is an innate part of one's being as much as skin color is. |

mainstream: adj. Representing the prevalent attitudes, values, and practices of a society or group. I don't think 'straight liberals' are responsible for the fact that heterosexuality is prevalent in society. |

If there was a surge in sales of titles with bisexual male action they would be HAPPY to profit by fulfilling the demand. They couldn't care less about social stigmas (which should be quite apparent judging by some of the content these days)....they are here to make money. |
| arthur Deactivated User 165 Posts 9/04 | I'm not talking about bisexual porn. I'm talking about straight porn with a bit of male-male in it. I honestly don't think the model has been tested sufficiently if at all. As to one of the reasons why I'm so concerned about it, it's because the mainstreaming straight porn industry wants to make the double standard socially acceptable - it wants to entrench the notion that female bisexuality should be acceptable but that male bisexuality shouldn't. I'm not going to stomach this. |

| Flash Golden Age Classic 11017 Posts 5/01 | I think that this thread has shown that at least here most male viewers aren't looking for male/male action in their adult films. It has been used in the background from time to time in films like The Ass Collector, The Story of Joanna and Resurrection of Eve. Most of my past girlfriends have watched porn, but only one would go and pick out titles herself. Several of my female friends watch porn, but again I only know of one who picks out titles herself. Males are the majority of the buying/renting population if my experience is at all reflective of the general populus. The majority of men are either looking for male/female or male/male, but not both. I think that male/male action in the 'mainstream' adult films would inevitably end up hurting their sales, something that adult film companies don't want to do. I am not homophobic, however I wouldn't seek out titles with male/male action in them since it doesn't interest me. You are obviously on a crusade here since most of the posts of yours that I have read focus on why there should be male/male action in all adult films. As MLyons stated earlier in this thread, if you keep this up, you will turn off the people who you want to listen to you the most, the producers and directors that frequent this forum. |
