So to answer the original question... if I were a director my foremost focus would be the comfort level of the talent that I work with and the people who make production possible. The quality of the equipment that I work with would be second and last but not least would be the final form of the finished product.
If I were able to make all of those things come together I don't think the type of scene would matter much.
