What is reasonable wait time for back orders? I won't name the company because I like doing business with them. But I have had a long wait time for items on back order to be filled, 2 weeks to be precise. I feel that 2 weeks on a new release is too long for it to be filled. What's the average time most of you have waited for a back-order item to be filled?

Thanks for you time everybody

Mine have averaged two to four weeks, and one took as long as six weeks. However as you said, it was from a company that I liked dealing with, and they did answer my emails when I questioned them about the backorder.

I would think it depends on how good of a price you are getting. The cheaper the price (compared to other vendors), the longer I'd wait. At least to a point.

It's also very dependent on the production company involved. Sometimes the shipping delay is out of the retailer's hands. They are at the mercy of some pretty disorganized studios sometimes.

i think 3 weeks is fair. i've waited 4 weeks once. average is 2 weeks. yah i do think the price would dictate the time i'd wait. but sometimes these companies get they're shipment weekly, and as stated sometimes the studio is out of stock so other companies have no control. plus how bad do you want the title and how available is it from other sites? my opinion.

Thanks for the info. It was very helpful. I just wanted to see if I was waiting longer then the norm.

That's nothing, I once had to wait for 3 months before they had the movie in stock! I also won't mention the company because I like them a lot. The movies were I Swallow 1&2. I'm now waiting for 2 months for my copy of I Swallow 5, from the same company.
