I have checked one website, and it provide "DivX Download". I don't know what "DivX Download" is, does it mean that you can download the movie to your harddrive ,and you can watch whenever you want?

VOD means 'Video On Demand' and DivX is one of several formats that are used for downloading web-based movies and video files.
DivX® [daɪvˈeks] is a video codec created by DivX, Inc. (formerly DivXNetworks, Inc.), which has become popular due to its ability to compress lengthy video segments into small sizes while maintaining relatively high visual quality. DivX uses lossy MPEG-4 Part 2 compression, where quality is balanced against file size for utility. It is one of several codecs commonly associated with ripping, where audio and video multimedia are transferred to a hard disk and transcoded. As a result, DivX has been a center of controversy because of its use in the replication and distribution of copyrighted DVDs.
Many newer "DivX Certified" DVD players are able to play DivX encoded movies, however, "DivX" is not to be confused with "DIVX", an unrelated attempt at a new DVD rental system employed by the US retailer Circuit City. Early versions of DivX included only a codec, and were named "DivX ;-)", where the winking emoticon was a tongue-in-cheek reference to the failed DIVX system.
There is typically a time-limit imposed upon downloadable VOD (Video on Demand) movies. DivX utilizes a type of DRM (Digital Rights Management) protection that will grant you a license to play the video a certain number of times or for a set period of time, depending on how it's sold. At the end of that time period, the movie "locks" and you can't play it any longer without buying another "key" to unlock it again. There are a few companies who sell downloadable movies that are truly "unlocked" and you can play them forever, but this isn't as popular.
One thing you might be interested in....you CAN play both Divx and WMV files downloaded via a VOD system and watch them on your big-screen TV if you have a DVD player that supports encrypted files OR your PC will shoot a signal out to your TV. I've done this a few times....it really looks pretty decent.
Nope, I have one title I purchased from adultdvdempire that's a DIVX-encoded .AVI file...and it's VOD. It "calls out" to check on how much time is left to view the product.
this system really suck, i mean for 5$ at video club i have 2 porn movies...only probleme is that i must go rent them, put them in front of the employee(who is always a girl...arg) so its a mather of shame and all.
But 9.99 at this price, they could let you have the movie forever, i mean the usual price for used movie is 15$, and you still have the box and all the extras. As soon as its not new anymore the price drop... so 10$ for a renting of ONLY 1 MOVIE is really too much...
The people have spoken. I'm a nitpicking dick. Woo! 8751 Posts 1/04

I think i have to correct myself, i found a system tonight really great. Still a bit expensive but well... You buy time, and you can spent it on any movie you want. Whats truly is great is that if your a facial lover like me and you always wanted to check up some facials in some movies, then here you can. I had view over some movies for a long time, but if for exemple only one girl interest you in the whole movie, here you can spent 20 minutes on her scene and forgot about the reste of the movie
More time you buy, cheaper it become. They also offer the renting for 48 hour or a week at the usual 8-10$
Videobox now offers for $14.95/mo DVD quality (3500kbs) WMV downloads which are DRM free.
I have no idea how they do it... but we use a lot of the Pay-Per-Minute VOD vendors for them for checking on scene info for the IAFD...

I checked up video box, if what they say is true, than its pretty good, 10$ for unlimited movies and you can keep them after you cancel your subscription. One thing tought is that there selection is MUCH more REDUCED than the ones of monster movie or hotmovies.
