I work with a lot of public schools on the high school (10-12) grade level. What is it with young girls now days?Perhaps I am showing my age, but when I was in high school the average girl probably had had about three sex partners by the time she graduated. Now its closer to 10 to 15.I also believe, from my research, that at least 1/3 of white females are bisexual, either secretly or openly. That was almost unheard of when I graduated. (sometime in the eighties)Of course, I am not passing judgment. I personally find bisexuality among females highly erotic. All I am trying to say if that the times are changing and most, YES MOST, parents are blissfully unaware of how active their teenager is.Even so called good girls from nice families do it now.
Maybe bisexuality among females is more easily acceptable and open this day and age than it was in the 80's, when it was still relatively dangerous to come out of the closet in any aspect. Bisexuality is also a lot easier to accept socially in straight society among females, as it isn't intimidatingly excluding men from their sex lives. As a result that particular aspect of homosexuality will gradually become the first to be publicly and socially accepted (i'm just kind of pulling all this out of my ass, by the way -- I really don't know why but that's just my guess). A lot of girls growing up have experimented with their girlfriends in secret, but the recent lax attitudes towards it might have brought it out further into the open.
you are showing your age. i don't think things have changed that much at all, from what i've observed. things like this are probably just more out in the open.
I also beleive it is a regional question, I grew up with a lot of slutty girls. Now while they fucked a lot of guys, I didn't but I had a lot of kinks. It depends where you are from, going back to "community standars" hahahahah. you also have to remember "trends" Jenna Haze and I discussed this. There was a point n high school where girls thought it was "cool" to be bi, so they claim to be, or they are bi-curious but tell people they are bi. the fuck junkie ♠
My daughter lists herself as "Bi" on her Myspace page, and she's full of crap. She doesn't dig girls; she's lying to impress other girls and to turn boys on. Her physical contact with other girls is strictly public. It's all for show. If she were to have romantic feelings for a girl, she wouldn't try to hide it from me. She knows I don't disapprove, and I don't think she'd care if I did. I'm not saying that a lot of teenage girls aren't truly experimenting, nor that there aren't young bi-sexual girls in our schools. But if my kid is typical, and in most ways she is, the motivation for girl/girl relationships isn't always physical or romantic. It's socially calculating.
+1 My daughter's myspace and social statements and actions are almost exactly the same. She has experimented with girls just the tiniest bit. (Kissing and fondling and romanticized relationships.) Never gone "all the way" with a girl and she's WAY more interested in boys.
In what capacity, if you don't mind saying? What's your empirical basis for this statistic? What's your research method?Has your erotic sensibility perhaps colored your findings? * * * My own view (which I, like melpster, am more or less pulling out of my ass): Whatever the outward trappings, human sexuality doesn't change significantly over a 20-year period -- and probably not over a 1,000-year period, either. [typos]
Hi, I really can´t say that much. Maybe a lot of stuff is really made up but one thing that seems to be common in a lot of places is the lack of brain in a lot (not all) young people. If you follow the news you often wonder how can they think "this" or "that" is cool ? Maybe i´m getting to old ... Cube
Maybe there's a gay epidemic at our nations schools.

Well, I'm Canadian, and here is a report on teen sexual behavior here which doesn't seem to jive with your perception: http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2005/05/03/teenage-sex050503.html#skip30 hex 250 Note that that the U.S. rate is DOUBLE the Canadian rate! So much for the idea that sex education promotes promiscuity or teen pregnancy.
My research, if research it can be called, was word of mouth. In other words they were kids talking to me about their problems. That is part of my job. I think this study I just read seems to confirm my findings.
Being a counselor is part of my job, but that is not my only responsibility. I teach highly advanced and specialized courses and roam between the various schools in the county in which I live.
Certainly there are trends. Take oral sex. When I was in high school getting a blow job would only happen after intercourse was agreed upon. Today, due to stds, pregnancy worries or whatever, the BJ is a substitute for sex for the girl who isn't ready to commit to intercourse. Of course my source for this research is American Pie and don't even get me started on the pastiality craze, so take that for what it is worth.
isn't confidentiality a part of your responsibility too? isn't posting this kind of information--however vague--on an internet forum a breech of trust? i must say, this makes me glad i've never gone to counselling.
I don't question what you write, Bill Clinton basically said under oath that a blowjob is not having sex, so go figure. But I don't get the "substitution for sex for the girl" part. Giving the guy a blowjob is satisfying the boy, but not the girl. Why is it that nowadays sex between teens seems so much more of a "job" the girl has to do then 20 years ago? easy it's like paris hilton and her dog its the new fashion acessary for the 21st century ie; its cool to be bi if your a girl and with so many girls competing for the boyz attention they are going to more extreme's to bet the rset but what wood i no i'm not a scientist
Pagoda and Kimi seem to confirm what has been my suspicion as well. I don't think girls are more "bi" than guys. But it has become one of those things right now...
You're getting old. Now the music is too loud and the car is too fast. I think that sexual behaviour was before as it is now. People seem to talk about it more openly these days in some societies. Here's the golden rule: More Education = More fun and safe sex Less Education = STDs, crime, stereotyping, and unwanted pregnancies
youd be surprised what teens are into.i remember when i was 19 i was hanging out with some friends and one of them was banging this 15 yr old in our friends room.he comes out after hes done and says she wants all of us to bang her today.unfortunatley he went again, then matt went and afterwards he said we had to leave cuz itd be weird if his parents came home and one of us was in the room with her while the rest were in the living room and he was gone.another interesting thing that girl did was tell one of us her and her two friends would let us film them going at it.id never even so much as seen them kiss.so what you see isnt necessarily an indicator.i think youre just trying to convince yourself your kids not bi.i do agree with you that most girls just do it to be cool but i think youre showing your age.i was a teen just six years ago.oh and anyone about to call me a pedo or anything should look through their porn collection or the latest avn and see all the teen titles or teen looking girls.its perfectly natural to be attracted to teens.i say the cut off should be 14 or 15 though.another thing is why werent blowjobs so easy to get when i was in highschool?that same girl said she was getting her tongue pierced and i said cool how bout you blow me when you get it?she said well i already told nine guys i would so might as well make it ten.aww to be a teen again.
Sounds like a paradise. When I was a young teen in the 90s, girls here were very wild. Sex with much older partners, sex partys, 2/3 also had sex with girls/women, some even tried golden showers and sex acts I dont want to describe here. This changed in the last years, girls now are much more conservative. There is a great : " early sex is evil " propaganda by mass media and the government. You can even erase the "early" and say: "sex is evil". Its very frustrating. One the one hand, I had some marvelous years, on the other hand, I am often depressed, if I look at the conservative climate of today.
younger girls now these days are doing the same thing like having orgy, blow jobs parties, 2/3 way sex, having sex with much older partners, anal and many sexual acts are on the list. Nothing has change for these young girls from when I graduated 8 years ago.
I'd like to say 'go sexual freedom!' and all that but bisexual girls shit me. A lot of them aren't bisexual as such; rather, give them a vodka and they'll kiss any girl for a bit of cock. *frustration* Stupid straight girls.
When I was in high school back in the early 80's there was this junior high girl-couldn't have been older than 14-she blew 25 guys at a party. Maybe she was just "ahead" of her time!
GIrls change a lot and go through an experimentation stage. I was in HS in the 80's and I was a good little girl and didnt even give a blowjob until I was 17. Fast forward to 19 and I was fucking my brains out working part-time for an excort service! A lot of these girls will calm down in very short time.
I'm not so sure. And when I say I'm not so sure I'm giving people who espouse your viewpoint the benefit of the doubt. Simply because in the last year media reports have come out stating that girls are getting it on and getting down sooner and with more frequency than ever before. One reason, as stated, is due to technology. With cell phones you can send a picture to someone across the country in a matter of seconds. And then you can take videos with your cell phone. And then there's the MySpace thing. Granted, there are no sex shots on MySpace, but they do have frisy, sexy pictures there and who knows what happened after the camera guy put the camera away. So a lot of it has to do with sharing images. Along those lines, you can go to Google and find images of Brittany Spears shown sitting in a car with her pussy exposed. And then there's the Lindsay Lohan type stuff. All of it accessible to an impressionable teenagers fingertips, stuff that might influence them. Since it is the media reporting this, since I can't validate it, and since there hasn't been a scientific study on it, it's all open for speculation. Either way, these year old news reports are available through Google should you decide to look them up.
The media has a short memory. Remember Romeo and Juliet? Marriages were only delayed when other factors besides puberty started coming into play. Young women aren't any different than young men. Their bodies are demanding sex, so unless you've got a compelling reason for them not to do it, they're going to have sex. Contraception eliminates the risk of unwanted pregnancy, and STD's aren't common enough to be an effective deterrent.
I agree with the shaving aspect of today's culture. Back in the day, i.e. pre 99' 2000, shaved "privates" wasn't a very common occurance. However, now it's seems as if it's simply common courtesy. Personally I shave...makes the situation look a lot better. "Cleanliness, right next to godliness." -George Carlin-
I think it's completely natural for women to explore their femininity with other women at a young age and it was just unspoken before. When I was in high school 10 yrs ago (man, I'm feeling old), it was completely taboo to be bi. I was the freaky "lesbian witch" of my school and was ostracized for my affections towards my female friends. I do believe that this acceptance depends on where you are in the country. I grew up in the bible-belt, so the taboos I felt then probably still exists today. I do feel that it's more natural for a girl to explore her sexuality with the same sex. It gives them an opportunity to understand the female body and I think it improves body image. Woman are more inherently tender and sensual, which I feel many teenage boys lack. I do think that a lot of girls today hop into exploring their sexuality at a time where they should focus on improving their self confidence and intellectual interests. Looking back, I wish I had spent more time on developing my art, than being focused on sex and relationships. You have the whole rest of your life to expand your sexual limits, so why try to rush it. Sex is like wine; it gets better with age.
that's probably one of the most intelligent and insightful posts i've read from someone inside the industry. or maybe just at all. thanks for contributing something of such a high calibre!
i think you've just made me a fan for life. where can i sign up?

"this acceptance depends on where you are in the country" What country is this then, that the internet is in? "I think it's completely natural for women to explore their femininity with other women at a young age and it was just unspoken before." There's lots of same-sex exploration (MM & FF) that goes on even at much earlier ages.... and it's perfectly natural. Edited by - NewRomancer on 10/27/2008 10:52:57 AM
