What is raincoater material? Many say it is the most aggressive porn out there? I do not have a clue unless I see it. So I ask raincoaters which of the following production companies can be defined as raincoater material or close to it:
1. Devil's Films 2. Zero Tolerance 3. Evil Angel 4. Wicked 5. Diabolic 6. Anabloic

I consider a "raincoater" as anyone looking for more gonzo style sex, you know the ones looking for the fucking, not the story. So I would say all the ones on your list with the exception of Wicked fit a raincoaters "MO". I would also add Red Light, Platinum X, NJ Films, 3rd Degree and a host of others to that list.
I would consider myself a raincoater at heart, even thought I like features here and there to break up the monotony.
But every wicked and Vivid DVD gives you the option to go straight to the sex. That is why I don't understand some raincoaters who bitch about the plot distracting the sex.
I have not seen many Wicked and Vivid -stuff lately, but according to reviews, those movies are many times 90min* - 2hr long with story . (* usually 90min.) And many Evil Angel, PXP, RLD, 3rd Degree and ZT -movies are 2hr or 2hr 20min or even more, without any story. So i have not seen many Wicked and Vivid -stuff, and not going to, those stories must hurt, because movie length is not that long.

I think 1on1Fan hit it.
The whole movie is really nothing but sex, feature movies (companies) have story in there and are more than often shorter.
Also, I think "circus acts" get into a raincoater's area too, something not many features tackle. For example, which was the last time you seen double anal in a feature?
As I understand it the term 'raincoater' originated in the days when porn was shown theatrically. When men would attend the grindhouses in long jackets it was obvious that they weren't there just to watch the story unfold, but that the jacket was really intended to conceal what transpired beneath the jacket. Therefore, raincoater applies to someone who wants to get to the good part and see the pervy stuff, and 'raincoater material' would be material suited to satisfy such a person. What would constitute satisfactory would depend on the person I guess.
Devil in Miss Jones 3, but there are probably later examples. Yeah, most modern features are pretty tame though. But in the seventies it wasn't totally uncommon to have things like watersports and fisting in features.
As an authentic "Raincoater," who actually went to see porn on film in bricks and mortar movie theatres, let me point out that we raincoaters were watching features.
That's right. Features. Features are what played in movie theatres. No gonzo and very little in the way of "circus acts."
Let's not confuse loops and the stuff one found in the peep shows and stroke shops of the 70's and early 80's with the features that played in movie theatres.
I prefer to think that a raincoater today is one who takes their porn very seriously... not as someone who is looking for freak-show-circus-act-push-the-envelope-degradation.
Just the opposite. I think most of us from the "Raincoater Era" are looking for well-done one-on-one sex with today's technology and attractive performers.
I would say "raincoater material" is the opposite to "couples porn". Generally this has nothing to do with a specific genre like feature, gonzo or vignette although most "raincoater material" is produced within the gonzo genre while most "couples porn" is produced within the feature genre.
"Raincoater material" is all porn that you cannot watch with your significant other.
I think of the term as the kind of porn you don't even want your friends to know you're watching. Hamster Love, Granny Grabber... that kind of extreme shit.
As porn evolves the meaning of raincoater should too, because old raincoat material is lame today. I consider double anal and swallowing to be 'vanilla' these days... ;)
