Folks,

what keyboard macro hotkey, etc. TOOL you´re using - if any at all - in getting the bloody {url=[url]http://[/url] and other tags as quick as possible with a Hot-/Function-Key on the screen ???

Cheers!

my mother always told me if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all

MOD: Edited to replace [ with { in front of "url" in order to prevent post from displaying incorrectly.

For url's I always cut & paste from the "Add URl" hotlink at the bottom of the reply page.

I used this method before, but was annoyed that marking the text is somehow tedious (new window opens, moving your mouse to the text, etc.)

Because of that I wrote out in full the commands, but looked for a better way to get rid of toooo much mouse movement.

This company has a tiny tool allowing you to assign certain keystrokes to write specific text when a certain application runs!
(e.g. I assigned the {url}-commands to F9 and F10 - getting the full command in a ms)

I guess another possibility might be in using Microsofts free and mighty tool called "Windows Scripting Host (WSH)".
But it needs some reading programming the same procedure.
(It´s raw VisualBasic)

Cheers for altering the error in the initial post!

When I first joined ADT, I looked around for some shortcut to typing the tags. After I got used to it, I got to the point where it's second nature. I just...

type first part of the tag "url="
paste the URL
close the url= tag
type some kind of description (or just paste the URL again)
write the tag ending "/url"

Same thing for the italics, underline and bold tags.

If I have to edit multiple tags, I'll copy and paste into notepad or wordpad and power edit the tags and then copy and paste the whole schmear back to the ADT message editor.

I just find out this Firefox Extension yesterday, so i don't know or did try all features.

So if you use Mozilla Firefox, try this FF Extension.

After it's installed.
Copy URL like http://www.mozilla.org
and then in Message -window click Right mouse button and select:
BBCode > Clipboard > Make Selection URL
that function gives you this:
{url=http://www.mozilla.org}{/url}
so you just must add URL title.
{url=http://www.mozilla.org}Mozilla.org{/url}
Mozilla.org

There is also
BBCode > Clipboard > Make URL
{url}http://www.mozilla.org{/url}
But then ADT Adds this title:
Click here

If you just want URL tags, then you must Copy "Space bar" -hit, and then Make URL and Make Selection URL -functions give you this:
{url} {/url}
{url= }{/url}

note: {} are really []

ps: i'am not sorry about my english, because Christmas is so close:)

Great find 1on1Fan. As well as the url tags, the features that I will find most useful will be the quote, paste quote, img, bold and italic.

It also has a lot of "smilie" tags. Unfortunately, they don't format consistently with the ADT format.
