I know that there is already a thread that touches on this subject, with some useful advice for newbies, but I wanted to get some feedback on what ADT users want from a review.
When I first started reviewing I read reviews from ADT legends such as AstroKnight, BonoOne, and still my favourite, Crucifix Jones. Over time however, I have developed my own style but have recently began to wonder what is important to people who read the reviews.
I personally think that it adds something if there are pictures with the review, particularly of the less well known starlets. What do other people think?
Some reviewers make a point of giving a position by position account of a scene while I know favour an approach that highlights what was particularly hot or not hot about a scene. Also is it important for people to know what the girl is wearing pre and during the sex and where the sex is taking place.
Finally, are people really bothered about the bonus features on a disc such as BTS?
Any views on the above from members and or performers would be appreciated.

I have indicated in another thread that bonuses and BTS are of little consequence to me. In this age of 2-disc sets with running time of the movie itself hovering over 3-4 hours, you really do not need bonuses or BTS. But that's my personal opinion.
For myself, I would like to know the setting of the scene (near a swimming pool, on a pool table, on a couch, kitchen, in a park). What the girl is wearing. If there is a brief interview what she may say that is interesting instead of just saying "interview", the sex positions (point out the best). If the girl looks different from previous movies (change of hair color/styles, new tattoos, skinnier, heavier, etc).

I'm definitely interested in what the reviewer finds to be "hot" in the scenes. That's probably what makes the best reviews. That being said, I also like to know what positions are used, though the way Den does it is so clinical and terse that I often can't figure out what he means and often don't even read his reviews.
One thing that very few reviewers seem to point out is female orgasms. I've read reviews of scenes that I thought were off the charts hot, mainly due to the female's enjoyment and orgasm; reading the reviews, that same scene sounds completely ho hum.
Details are always important IMHO.

As a new reviewer I have been thinking about soliciting some input myself. Kudos for getting this thread started.
As a review reader and writer, this is some of my preferences and predilections.
Pictures are great. Especially of the new starlets. (I haven't started putting pics in my reviews yet but I have been intending too. I really plan on starting.) Note to all review writers: include pics of the new girls.
I really don't care what the girls are wearing or where the scene takes place but I have seen that suggested before. Plus it helps me start describing the scene, so I always do it.
As a review writer, I have been including a position-by-position account. As a reader, I really don't care. And as a writer, I find it a little bit tedious. If no one else cares I would really not mind leaving them out.
As a review reader, I can tell you it's rare that I read the entire review. So I like it when the reviewer has broken up his review into sections. I also appreciate a good summary or conclusion. As a writer, I think I do that, although I think my review is repetitious to someone who reads the whole thing.
As a review reader, there are a few reviewers who I have identified as having similar tastes to me. But frequently when I read a review I just don't know. Or I know we don't have similar tastes, but there is only one review on the movie. So I appreciate as much objective info as possible. This is not just important to me as far as the girls' looks but also on what kind of sex is being performed. I think the girl should be described. Saying, " this is a super slim girl, with short blond hair, small but perky breasts, and a couple of small tats", is just so much more useful than saying "this girl is hot". (And this just reinforces the value of pictures some more).
I'm still having a hard time with objectively describing a performance. I include the number of minutes and the positions. By bringing up things like spitting, slapping, abusive talking, screaming, toys, eye contact, foreplay, kissing, squirting, anal, etc. I hope to hit the things that people are looking for or trying to avoid.
Perhaps the best thing to do is to say if you liked the scene or not and then why. I have trouble with that, too. When you get down to it, a lot of it is subjective and personal taste.
I usually don’t care about BTSs. In fact, until I became a reviewer I rarely watched them or I just skimmed them. As a reviewer, I suspect that some people like them so I always check them out and at least give a short description of them. I say “ there is a short 5- minute BTS which is just a before and after of Chase’s scene” or “ The BTS is 27 minutes long. It contains a short interview of each girl and a little bit of the girl discussing the scene afterwards.” Recently, I reviewed a movie that had so much bonus stuff I had to increase my initial rating. Anyway, since I really don’t care about them I just try to give the reader enough information so he can draw his own conclusions.

When doing a review i like to try and add some humor to it as well as getting across all the main aspects that are going on,what the girls are wearing-body shape, sexual positions etc.One "problem" i have is that my reviews tend to be really long..does that put people off?
I cannot seem to shorten them down as i like to try and explain everything that is going on..and as i mentioned having a laugh is a must so with some lighthearted jokes thrown in i would say that is "my review style"
Please check out some of my reviews,i would love to know if people have enjoyed them, found them helpful or find them too long.Criticism is welcome...but remember i know where you stay.

I've been reading a lot of porn reviews for a long time. And one of my most favorite porn reviewers is Den at www.cavr.com.
And the reason why I like Den's reviews so much is because they are short and very informative. I don't need to spend a lot of time reading the review to find out whether I want to see the film or not.
Basically, Den describes in a few short sentences all of the sex acts the lady performs in her scene with the guys. Sometimes his sentences are so short that they are made up of only one word, like "DP." or "Gape.". But some of his sentences are longer. And such variation makes the reading more interesting.
And another thing I like about Den's reviews is that he is good at objectively rating the sex-action in the scenes. He gives each scene in the film a rating from 0.00 and 10.00. And from what I can tell, this rating isn't just his personal like or dislike of the sex-action. He rates it according to the difficulty of the sex-action the lady performs in the film and how well she performs it. Which means that a lady who spreads her ass for the guys and has no-holes-barred sex with them automatically gets a higher rating for her scene. And if she gets a good DP or two, and she handles it well. Then her scene gets an even higher rating. Because performing a DP with two guys is a more difficult sex-act than is having pussy-only-sex in a 1 on 1 with a guy.
This kind of rating system is similar to the rating system for ladies in gymnastics. In gymnastics, the lady's performance is rated according to the quantity, variety, difficulty, and the perfection of the lady's gymnastic feats.
This is a very objective way to judge the scenes and the sex action in them. And it is very informative. Because such rating basically tells you how much and how well the lady gets debauched in her scene. Which is what most guys want to know, when they see a lady they like on the cover and wonder just how good does she get it from the guys in the film? Is she on the cover just for show? Or does she loose her inhibitions and lets the horny guys give her an all out no-holes-barred ride after ride until they are all satisfied?

Since I often rely on views to guide my purchases, I want objective information, although the reviewer's subjective reaction inevitably enters. I want quick summary of the action. Since I like bukkake, gangbang, blowbang, and orgy flix, I want to know how many performers there are. Frequently, blowbang reviews refer to an unspecified number of mopes. I want to know how many. It's a huge difference to me if there are 5 shooters, 15, or 50. I also want to know about the cum shot. Does she allow the cum to build up in her mouth or swallow each one in turn? And I want explicit information about extent and time of cum play. I also prefer information about the quantity and quality of the cum loads. I agree w/ previous poster who wanted comments about female performer's enjoyment/orgasms. The more the woman enjoys it, or convincingly enacts same, the better. And if she does so while playing to the camera, so much the better. Texan

Of course, the reviewer has to develop a personal style and cannot be all things to all readers.
I prefer solo scenes and have been known to immediately end the scene when the male performer appears; things can only go downwhill from there. So for me, the outfits is important (including info about high heels and nylons and barefeet), and any tease sequence, and any male-free BTS, and photo sets. Oh and the quality of the camera work is important; too few full view shots and to many closeup shots is bad.
Yeah I should just buy/rent solo vids but unfortunately, most girls have ZERO available solo scenes so I'm basically stuck with the solo bits of hardcore dvd's.
I don't expect any reviewer to accommodate me, but it's something to consider anyway.

There are many things I look for when looking at reviews. They are:
Who directed it.
Running time of entire film.
Running time of every sex scene and bts segment.
Entire cast list, including those in non-sex scenes.
Who is fucking or sucking who. This is pretty important to me, and often decides if I'll see it.
Scenarios or set-ups.
What the females are wearing.
I want to know how a scene starts and the location it starts and ends.
I want to know of any and all foreplay and every position used, preferably in exact order. I also want to know how the scene ends, includding facials, creampies, swallowing, post-head cleanups, etc...
I like to read the intangibles too. Like if the sex is sweaty, if performers look bored or really into it, trash/dirty talking, good/bad lighting or audio, good/bad camerawork, and general chemistry between performers.
I do prefer to know the reviewers opinions on the film and the sex scenes.
I like to know if a reviewer really likes or dislikes a certain performer.

I agree. Telling me they spent several minutes in the doggie position doesn't really tell me if it was hot or not. Knowing the various positions is important but doesn't warrant making the bulk of the review a sterile description of the positions.
I want to know if the girl looks hot in this scene. I want to know if the guy kept losing his wood. I want to know if the pop shot is a good one. I want to know if the camera work is good. If the color is bad, that would be helpful to know. Stuff like that.
I have always said that whether or not something is hot depends largely on how well it's done. A review should tell me if the reviewer actually thought the scene was hot and why.

Dumb question: how do you insert screencaps into the review? Do you just upload them to your filespace and use html to put them into the text area of your review? I just figured out how to do screenshots and want to insert them into reviews. Thanks for any help.
