I seem to remember that Rodney won the rights to his material sometime within the last 6-9 months?

He also has some genuinely original ideas from time to time. I have to admit that his flicks sometimes bore me to tears but when he does a good one, it's really nice.

I don't know about the "so much better" part, but I am a big Rodney Moore fan, and his stuff has long been a vital part of my porn stew for many years. If you are talking about the specifics of the sex in his movies being better than in other porn, (and it sounds like you are), I can't really speak to that, but there are a few other factors that make his work enjoyable to me.

For starters, there is him. The classic; homely, geeky, pasty looking, pimply-faced, non-athletic, nerd guy that you'd expect to find living in his parent's basement cruising porn, NOT getting willing women of all stripes to get wildly freaky with him in his own porn. He's kind of a likable dirtbag everyman, who is not off-putting in an Ed Powers sort of way.

Then there are the women he uses. Rodney has used virtually every flavor of women that's ever thrown her hat into the porn ring. From the bad, unattractive, or uninspired, right up to the top of the line porn starlets. He's had them at all phases of their porn careers, from just off the street at the very beginning, to embarassingly holding on by a thread on their way back down and out of porn. And everything in between. Young, old, fat, thin, hot or homely, Rodney is an equal opportunity porn employer. And I like that he uses so many women that are attractive in non-traditional ways. There are girls who do great jobs in Rodney Moore movies that would get no shot at most of the other porn production houses. They have minimum standards. Everybody has a shot with Rodney. And many do surprisingly well.

Finally, there is the humor. From the very beginning, one of the prime components in Rodney's work for me was the humor contained. Most of his vignettes, even back when he was working with his buddy Wolf Savage, involved some funny situational send-up, or ridiculous ruse designed to get in the girl's pants. And what made it great was that the girl was almost always in on the joke, if not at the beginning, then definitely by mid-way into the scene. So you feeling like you are laughing with the performers, and not at them. And this humor made for some great, stupid, dialogue. Rodney Moore's flicks are some of the few porn movies that I'm not on the FF button all the time, because I'm not there just for the sex. To listen to some of his silliness when he setting the girl up to get in her pants is priceless.

Then there is the sex. The juxtaposition of this slob in linty black socks, getting to do whatever he wants sexually to ANY chick, let alone to hot porn chicks, just hits home with most raincoaters out in pornland. We all can't be Rocco or Manuel or Justin or Lex, but we can damn sure be Rodney Moore.

If we just had the sac to walk up to strange women and do what he does.

Years ago when I was in college, myself and a few friends were interested in shooting porn. I emailed Rodney and he was the only person who gave us real advice about the porn industry without trying to discourage us from trying like most folks in the biz do.

Now I must be honest, and say that last night, I checked out four more of Rodney's vids, and there WERE some scenes that didn't knock it outta the park.... so I guess the guy is human. lol

Seriously though, I learned a lot by just watching 6 different vids of his the past few days...

For example, I watched the scene with Marie Luv (of whom I am a huge fan ), and I learned that there are a lot of different factors that go into making a scene hot or not.. I see now, that sometimes an actor or actress is having a good day, or a not-so-good day.

The scene with Marie, was a really really nice role-play scenario. The way that Rodney did it, was actually a fantasy of mine that I never saw done before.. like how as he tricked/seduced her from modeling to sex, he got her on her knees, and hit her face with his dick and pretended it was an accident.. lol I really enjoyed that.

Marie did a really nice job with the role-playing as well!!

I was impressed by her acting skills...

I don't think she was in a horny mood that day though, or in a very playful mood..

Anyways, my eyes have really been opened up to the complexities/variables that go into shooting a porn scene, and I DO think that Rodney has a LOT of different skills..

I really wish somebody could pick up the role-playing ball, a la "Rodney Style", and explore the many many scenarios that can be done.

Personally I like the interracial scenarios, and wish more would be done with THEM, but that's just my own taste.
