...addicts to help! So yeah, I am trying to decide if I want to come back and do more work, maybe even take a semester off and stay in LA for awhile. One of the things I am thinking about is whats the best way for me to make money in the long term, I guess these are the options, in addition to doing regular shoots: 1) Find a company and set up a website and split the revenue. 2) Make a boatload of different scenes and post them to VOD sites, make less of a percentage, but less work and maybe more volume. 3) Produce a series and see if its good enough to sell to a company like Pink Visual or some other megasite. 4) Marry some rich dude and lay out by the pool all day Any suggestions?
That's what I'd do if I had the option (I'm male. I'm just sayin'). Don't marry a dick who treats you like shit, though. Marry a good guy who'll help you pay for your school so you'll have a backup if he ever leaves you. Porn isn't such a great money maker. It's more the type of thing you do if you want to make decent money for having sex. There are consequences, however.
I don't know. I'm nowhere near the inner circle of the industry. I'm just saying that there are some hefty consequences for a young women doing porn. If she's going to do it, it should be something she really wants to do and not just the money. It doesn't make sense to do it unless you want to. $150,000 isn't a lot of money.
How much of the $150,000 do you need to live on? If you can live on $50,000 then you've got $100,000 to invest in stocks and bonds. Conservatively, that should get you around a million smackers at retirement age.
There are risks with porn, no doubt. But as with any high compensation job, there are generally such risks, especially if your skill has a narrow application, such as with sports or deep sea diving. Investing a $100,000 a year would create a million dollar portfolio in a very short time, and for a 20 year old, that is a phenomenal opportunity. Kendra and I were hoping that someone might have specific advice on the best way to proceed, but this thread does not seem to be attracting much attention, so thanks to the two of you for your sincere responses.

As with anything, shop around. Girls (especially hot ones) are ALWAYS welcome in porn. If you can, you could try the upmarket companies like Vivid, Private, Digital Playground first.
