I was searching for a movie at erodvd.nl, and found this boxcover. I recognised a couple of pictures immediately as being from one of Christoph Clark's "Beautiful Girls" movies. Then I looked at the other pictures, and they're all from that same movie - Beautiful Girls 8. I have this DVD and every picture on that link above is from it.

I know porn scenes get recycled and compiled in all sorts of ways over and over, but this surprises me. It looks like the entire movie has been repackaged. Every scene. With no mention of Beautiful Girls or Christoph Clark, even though he's in one of the images. Here's a link to a page where you can buy Beautiful Girls 8. They're asking $24.95. But that movie above, the repackaged one, is asking 9.95 in Euros.

Sure, movies can cost far more or less depending on all sorts of factors. But $24.95 is a reasonable price for a Beautiful Girls title. 9.95 in Euros is about US$13 - roughly half price.

Is this a regular occurence? Has Christoph sold the copyright to this movie so someone else can manufacture it with a new name and cover? I guess it's his copyright to sell, but it leaves a pretty weird impression with me when the same movie is still being sold elsewhere with its original name and cover for twice the price. Or is this copyright infringement?

I'm guessing M.M.V. owns the German right for Christopf Clark movies just like Shiva owns the Dutch rights. I guess the big difference would be that the German version has a whole new title and I think all the actors and actresses speak German. Personally I would buy the original version from Evil Angel because I think they have the best transfers and the best extras.

Hi,

Ramsey is right. MMW is the german distributer/whatever for a lot of EA titles. And looking at their "great" way of creating the dumbest of titles for the movies they release, it makes it kinda hard to identify any movie. But i stopped renting their stuff ages ago due to not having original sound. Maybe that changed i don´t know. But what´s even worse is the thing that paradise film is doing. They release the movies with exact cover but (unconfirmed) not the exact content (at least their single disc releases)

take a look here ... Jules Jordans original --- [ invalid url ]

if the paradise link doesn´t work for you as i posted it you can find the login data if you put your mouse over the paradise link

Both boxcovers look the same. Does Paradise also release a 2 disc version?

Thanks very much to you both. It looks like there might be cheaper versions of good movies out there, but quality issues mean I'll choose the EA versions - you get what you pay for!

Hi,
yes they do. Those are (supposedly) the only versions who seem to be like the original
