Ever hear the expression "Less is more? -to the director (yeah, right), "Stop filming it!" and , I don't know, "Direct!" After all it's the small things that add eroticism to the scene (NO, I don't mean the eyes-rolling -back cliche). How about some intelligent, sensual dialogue ? Remember! Good performance (on all levels) is good product. [Link] |

Artcore is often similar to gonzo but there appears to be an attempt to tone everything down and increase the level of sensuality. Most of them do a moderately decent job but they are still far from creating a truly erotic, sensuous video with hardcore sex. Not sure if it's because of the people behind the camera, the people in front of the camera or a mixture of both. My money is on both. Just so that I don't only pick on the porn industry. It's no better in mainstream media. How many good or let alone great movies were released in 2016 VS how many were just loud, intense, over the top pieces of crap? I don't know about you guys but I'd gladly pay 20$ for just one video where there is a slow build up to the action. Give me one scene where two people look at each other like they actually want to have sex together, where they talk prior to the action, where they kiss like there is no tomorrow, where the guy wants to take the girls clothes off because he's 8 again and she is his Christmas gift, where each person wants to taste every part of the other person and when that's done do it all over again, where the penetration isn't just fucking but two people trying to bring pleasure to the other person. Am I asking too much of porn? I watch mainstream movies that contain scenes that border and sometime cross the line into softore to midcore porn and yet most of them somehow manage to offer more intensity that most porn videos manage to generate. Is it just a question of talent? Is it just a question of ability? Is it simply that the people making porn just don't care? |

Hell I don't expect art from porn. I would like it to be at least a little arousing! When I speak of the little things, I mean the subtle, erotic touches that we find arousing. I don't mean romance, necessarily, bit the details that fuel our fantasies. I follow my favorite performers. They are usually the attractive, non-inked laddies who realize the porn set is not a delivery room. They make the sex seem pleasurable and intimate. That's good enough. If there is some inspired dialogue...home run! A director should set the scene, facilitate the performance. But why would he/she tolerate the crap that usually gets filmed? Why would he/she memorialize garbage? Besides all that, good performance is good business. It will bring customers. That's my two cents. |
