Nothing, but nothing makes me FF a scene faster than an "actress" screaming her way to pseudo orgasm (yawn).
All I can say is:
-to the actress, "Tone it down!" Ever hear the expression "Less is more?
-to the director (yeah, right), "Stop filming it!" and , I don't know, "Direct!"
After all it's the small things that add eroticism to the scene (NO, I don't mean the eyes-rolling -back cliche). How about some intelligent, sensual dialogue ?
Remember! Good performance (on all levels) is good product.

^^I find nothing wrong with your statement and I applaud you for writing it but I fear you are rehashing something that has been discussed many times previously and sadly I don't see anything changing for the better any time soon. Like it or not gonzo is the current porn flavor and I think exaggeration is often associated with gonzo porn far more than it is with scenario based porn. What I mean by that is that gonzo seems to want to make everything look bigger, sound louder and be more intense and therefore the performers will try to the best of their ability to emphasize all of their actions. That's why the BJ's aren't slow and sensuous but instead are usually a girl going down so fast and so deep on a dick that she keeps on choking and almost vomiting. That's why guys don't do a slow penetration of their partners orifices but pile drive into them so fast and so hard that it borders the comical or in my case hard to watch. That's also why the women loudly and exaggeratedly fake their orgasms. Bigger is not necessarily better and louder is also not better.
The semi-good news is that sites have sprung up in the last few years that try to turn the trend away from intense gonzo into what is called artcore porn. Artcore is often similar to gonzo but there appears to be an attempt to tone everything down and increase the level of sensuality. Most of them do a moderately decent job but they are still far from creating a truly erotic, sensuous video with hardcore sex. Not sure if it's because of the people behind the camera, the people in front of the camera or a mixture of both. My money is on both. Just so that I don't only pick on the porn industry. It's no better in mainstream media. How many good or let alone great movies were released in 2016 VS how many were just loud, intense, over the top pieces of crap?
I don't know about you guys but I'd gladly pay 20$ for just one video where there is a slow build up to the action. Give me one scene where two people look at each other like they actually want to have sex together, where they talk prior to the action, where they kiss like there is no tomorrow, where the guy wants to take the girls clothes off because he's 8 again and she is his Christmas gift, where each person wants to taste every part of the other person and when that's done do it all over again, where the penetration isn't just fucking but two people trying to bring pleasure to the other person. Am I asking too much of porn? I watch mainstream movies that contain scenes that border and sometime cross the line into softore to midcore porn and yet most of them somehow manage to offer more intensity that most porn videos manage to generate. Is it just a question of talent? Is it just a question of ability? Is it simply that the people making porn just don't care?

Hi pat362;
Thanks for your thoughtful response.
My objection is not with gonzo. It is not with scripting or lack thereof. It is not even with the mediocrity of talent in porn. Hell I don't expect art from porn. I would like it to be at least a little arousing!
When I speak of the little things, I mean the subtle, erotic touches that we find arousing. I don't mean romance, necessarily, bit the details that fuel our fantasies.
I follow my favorite performers. They are usually the attractive, non-inked laddies who realize the porn set is not a delivery room. They make the sex seem pleasurable and intimate.
That's good enough. If there is some inspired dialogue...home run!
A director should set the scene, facilitate the performance. But why would he/she tolerate the crap that usually gets filmed? Why would he/she memorialize garbage?
Besides all that, good performance is good business. It will bring customers.
That's my two cents.
