I have been watching this issue over the last few years , and I must also say that the increasing violence is a great turn-off for me . I remember when some of us complained about the defunct asian director of " Gangbang Auditions " , where there was too much choking etc . But compared to what is often seen today , they are tame .... Quite right, the "rape porn" debate is about a woman's choice not about the degree of intensity/ brutality or whatever. OP is clearly narrow minded. As long as the scene is clearly a fantasy I don't see what the problem is - there are plenty of women who like to be degraded and used in a controlled situation. It's just as enjoyable for them as it is for the men, and more importantly the viewer. If you prefer the more vanilla approach that's all well and good but there isn't a 'trend' towards men enjoying dominating women...Men have always enjoyed that. Even before porn. On an instinctual level most men have to suppress that feeling and so the fantasy becomes the only real (safe) outlet. As far as rape themed movies putting ideas into demented people as the OP suggests. That's frankly the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. A rapist doesn't need to watch a porn movie to push him over the edge, the same way a serial killer doesn't need to watch Dexter to go on killing spree. The law referred to is created by sections 63 to 67 (or thereabouts) of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008. The offence is rather narrowly defined. It is an offence to possess, make, distribute etc. an image which is pornographic and extreme. Extreme means depicting in an explicit AND realistic way an act likely to threaten another's life, or cause serious harm to a persons breasts, anus or genitals. Generally speaking I would not expect any of the scenes described here to meet the definition, though that should not be taken as legal advice. The Crown Prosecution Service website has a helpful section in this point and if you are worried about your collection I'd suggest you read it. As to a later point about it bring a problem to have a picture of a seventeen year old in a bikini: it is an offence in the UK to possess an indecent image of a child (note the lack of use of the word pornography - for this stuff is not porn). Context is everything here. Among a collection of family holiday snaps the imagery would never meet the definition of being sexual in nature. Among a collection of like images not related to the person possessing them, you might well be in trouble. That the subject of the image is a child is also a matter that requires proof, so cases are rarely prosecuted unless its obviously a child.
