You can't copyright a title (you can trademark a logo, but that's different), so it's basically just an honor system that people follow (or don't) as to similar or same titles.

I have never minded multiple films under the same/similar titles, as long as the title fits the movie. If they use a similar title on a gonzo that has no plot, as was used on an adult feature with an actual plot and script - that bugs me.

Whenever I find a porn movie that I want to recommend to someone else, I always include the production company and at least one of the talent's names... better safe than sorry. The internet makes that very easy - you can give them a link directly to reviews or something like ADT's price search so they can see the boxcover too.

I hear you...the thing is....if my people were as porn savvy as you describe, they wouldn't ask me for recommendations.....

they are novices....they just want the name of a title....and they wanna stick neck into a store grab the disc and bounce....

the companies bank on large percentage of purchases being made this way...hence the similiarly titled films.

I think its just normal to see some similar titles poping up sometimes.

Of course its always annoying tought, in video games there is a game call "Nocturne" wich was made in 99 by terminal reality. Im a fan of that game, but when i speak of "Nocturne" peoples think i am speaking of a more recent released game, "Shin Migami Tensei's Noturne" because the title is long and that its just his name in a way of saying "present" so people when they speak of that game just use "Nocturne" but they dosen't know or foget that a game already exist on that name.

But in porn its way more difficulte to find titles over time especially when it focus on a particular thing(blowjob, big breasts etc) Same words are always coming back.

Red Light was recently enjoined from using titles to their movies that had similar sounding names of movies that Mike John had previously developed.

Its possible but to do this but the names are going to have to be more unique that "Big Real Tits."

As for trademark, Digital Playground was awarded a trademark for the term "Virtual Sex" so it is possible, its just going to cost some scratch to do so.
