For gay themed movies like Lilies, Trick, Steam, Edge of Seventeen, Rites of Passage, In the flesh, Gay Deceivers, Get Real, Defying Gravity, etc where do you buy them? (When I have some time, I have to write reviews on a few of the above.) Some have their own websites, like Wolfe and Strand Releasing, some have carved out a community niche like TLA and then there are the mainstream sites like Amazon, Express, and Buy.com that sell gay themed flicks and even soft porn. It seems like prices have been creeping up and for a while now I have been buying from Buy.com. Using promo GCs, e-coupons, free shipping offers, I can usually get 45 to 50% off the MSRP, but their delivery times are a hit or miss proposition. Sometimes I can get the item in 3 days, other times 5 weeks! I was wondering where folks on this board buy their gay themed dvds? What criteria do you use - super low price? fast delivery? superb customer service? website connected with the community? some other criteria? [Link]

Still, I tend to buy movies one or two at a time--from whoever I find has the best deal on those specific titles. I tend to purchase my gay-themed titles through the same outlets I get my general-interest movies. I usually check with TLA, Wolfe, netflix, Amazon and PopcornQ for basic info -- then I start with DVDPriceSearch... I buy from 800.com, Amazon, Empire, Express, and others. Recently I've used ABSound and DVDBoxOffice due to the good Canadian-to-US dollar exchange rates... I also view alot thru netflix rentals. netguy Member 687 Posts 12/99	Posted - Sep 13 2000 : 3:11PM I usually buy from one of the big name stores like Amazon and such, but have had good luck with the little guys too, like Wolfe. It all depends, I've been hooked on a couple of the "click" through programs so I try to earn gift certificates to bring the cost down....if any of the B&M stores carried gay ones I would probably do that but I dont see too many in Target, Kmart etc. [Link]
