We (Vinegar Syndrome) have been selling our hardcore DVDs and Blu-rays on Amazon and many other major online retailers (Adult DVD Empire, CD Universe, etc) since our very first hardcore releases. Although it's technically against Amazon's terms of service to sell hardcore titles, they've always let it slide (with occasional exceptions), until now. As of March, they more formally pulled the plug on all new hardcore products (as well as introduced some crazy guidelines with regards to Prime streaming titles that you can read more about here: http://www.theblood-shed.com/amazon-cracks-prime-content-restrictions/ ). So now that Amazon seems out for good, I'm curious to know where most people do their online shopping for Classic hardcore titles [Note: I'm specifically referring to FILM productions from the 70s and 80s, not SOV stuff, comps, or 90s movies that have since fallen under the 'classics' banner; specifically the types of movies released by us, Distribpix/Video-X-Pix and others]. I don't expect to find any new sites in the suggestions, but I'm mostly curious to see if one or two sites are more popular than the rest. [Link] |

| john lyons Senior Member Co-founder of Vinegar Syndrome 1188 Posts 1/08 | Posted - Mar 3 2017 : 12:59PM With regards to their even more insane new streaming policy, which removes films with 'erotic themes,' and caused them to pull a couple 100% nudity free black and white films from the 50s/60s we had listed through Prime, as well as loads of rather innocuous horror films posted by other companies, they're complete hypocrites as they still have countless titles up from major studios (including Amazon's own productions like NEON DEMON, which includes lots of nudity, gore, and even lesbian necrophilia) that I highly doubt will get taken down, no matter what their official policies may state. In any case, it's the hand we (and all other independent companies) are being dealt, so we just have to find the best way to play it. [Link] |

I'll probably order from VS again whenever there are enough titles on my wish list to justify the shipping cost. I ordered my Wild Side DVDs from Amazon France and it's a shame that series ended early; the picture quality and interviews were great. Wild Side pulled the plug due to loss of support from a mainstream French retailer (a familiar story). I bought the Misty Beethoven Blu from Distribpix during their fundraising campaign, and would've supported any more fundraisers for films I cared about. Since then Distribpix seem to have disappeared off the radar. In the early days of DVD I usually supported retailers who participated in ADT's price search, and there were plenty to choose from at the time. Searching for VS titles on here today, it's a choice between Adult DVD Empire (at full retail price) or nothing. [Link] |
