There are no "sure things," "sure pay checks every month," or "job security" in this day and age. If any of these companies that have contract girls go broke, or just decide to stop paying their girls, the girls are, for practical purposes, going to be shit out of luck, notwithstanding any theoretical legal remedies they may have against the companies. I think it makes more sense for girls who are in demand to just work as much as they possibly can for as long as they possibly can, and try to have enough self-discipline not to piss the money away on clothes, cars, etc. Having money in the bank is "security." Having an expectation, or a hope, that some porno company is still going to be solvent, and paying you, three or six or nine months from now is an illusion of security.
Well as of right now I know a whole lot of freelance performers who are not and have not worked in a while. All the contract girls I know are still getting their monthly checks.

Whoa...Lela. I sold Lelas movies while at Club Jenna. The first one did very well, pre op. From then on it was not so easy to get the numbers out the door. Judging by her last post, my advice to all girls in the business is know where your bread is buttered. This is a fickle crowd, one minute you are the cat's meow, then the next minute , due to the way you treat people and fans especially, you are old news. If you think you're doing someone a favor by doing girl/girl, you are not. Club jenna has been out of business since Playboy stopped making DVDs 2 months ago. Not new news. Do they have a ton of shit in the can, yes, will it be released, maybe, probably. Have they shot new stuff, no. A contract is as thin as the paper it is written on, no one can prevent someone from making a living. Especially if the contract is written in the state of California. The only state it is tough to get out of a contract is Florida. The one thing I think is questionable, is the statement, it's not about you guys, it's about me. Actually it is about you guys, without you guys there is no Lela Star, Jenna Jameson, or any other actress. It is all about you guys. Without the fans, the girls don't make a living. Some girls find this out , excuse the expression, the hard way.
I never buy movies from any of the companies mentioned. Their scenes suck. I did hardcore porn (it's just my opinion). Has anyone even scene Jenna's movies they pretty much all suck. She got far because she had the ultimate girl next door look, and I think fans held on (I was one) to see her take it to the next level. Does Jenna even care about porn now.
