I just watched the movie.it's one of the worst i have ever seen.i love this series and have every volume of it. this one is the worst ever. looks like the director just threw the girls togather in scenes and said get it over with. i dont fault the girls. i love the girls in this movie. but the scenes are flatout terrible. just one man's opinion. i wish they would replace the director for this series.

The screenshots are on Adult DVD Empire. Of course, there are lots of photos on the Vivid Members site, too.
I'll probably see it (how can I NOT see a sexvid with Monique Alexander, Tawny Roberts, and Lexie Marie), but like "babby's" comments, above, I don't expect much from this video. By most accounts it seems to be a sexvid thrown together in June 2005, to get some last footage of Nina Mercedez, Tawny, Lexie, and Briana--all of whom's contracts were about to expire. It seems to have been shot at the same time as "WTBA #18" using different clothes and make-up. Speaking of which...
From the photos I've seen, all of the (very pretty) Vivid Girls are extremely heavily made-up; with eye make-up that probably hurt to keep their eyelids open. Almost like clown make-up. The natural beauty of the Vivid Girls, from the photos and Behind-the-Scenes video that I've seen, is definitely NOT improved by what the make-up artist has done to them.
I'll comment back on the sexual pairings after I've seen the video.

Ls, This movie is good, maybe luke warm is a better discription. I have to say that I was dissapointed in this release. It is a little to much glam, posing and art to be a porno in my opinion. I love girl/girl but I have been dissapointed in this series since the 12th installment.

Yep, this has sat on the shelf for quite awhile. Monique hasn't been inked yet.
BTW - how many actual Vivid girls are under contract at the moment? Three? Four? Seems like this is the smallest number of contract girls they've had in years.

You know, before seeing this thread, I didn't realize they were still making the "Where The Boys Aren't" movies. I thought they ended somewhere around #13.

By my count there are 9 Vivid Girls under contract right now. Old Timers: Tera Patrick (not doing b/g), Savanna Samson, Briana Banks, Sunny Leone, Lanny Barby, and Monique Alexander. The three new girls are: Hanna Hilton, Nikki Jayne & Meggan Malone.
This is far from the lowest number of Vivid contract girls. After the Great 2005 Exodus (Nina Mercedez, Tawny, Lexie, Briana, Love Twins), Vivid only had Monique Alexander, Lanny Barby, Stefani Morgan, Cassidy, and Sunny Leone active. Then Cassidy & Stefani left--leaving just Monique & Sunny.
Savanna Samson and Lanny Barby continued to be "associated" with Vivid, but was not working in videos, and the same is true of Tera Patrick & Jenna Jameson.
Of course, when they started out, Vivid's concept was that they would only have ONE contract girl at a time--beginning with Jamie Summers, who replaced Ginger Lynn. Ginger was "part owner" of the company when Vivid started out, but "somehow" lost her ownership participation

Thanks Derek - I didn't realize that Lanny Barbie and Brianna Banks were still under contract. Is it just me or does it just seem as if Vivid doesn't make as big a deal out of being a "Vivid Girl" as they used to.

That's what you get when you have a transsexual who used to shoot gay movies direct a lesbian title.
I'm suprised theses movies even sell anymore.

12 was one of the best i have ever seen.the storyline and everything.it really seem like some hard work went into it. this stuff i just watched was flatout terrible. it looks like something someone just rushed to get on film and over with. I hope vivid will get the director off this series. it's really bad right now.

I just watched it also and thought it really sucked. The lighting was bad and the sex was worst. The make up is so heavy the girls look like tranny's. Why would they have a big homo like Chi Chi direct movies? I thought he quit vivid. Just when I thought Vivid was coming back strong they release this Piece of shit!

Good idea.
I just wonder if Steve Hirsch really cares about customers' reaction to what sounds like a really misguided, and poorly conceived production. Vivid is all about the money, and no matter how bad "WTBA 19" may be, it will still make money for the company--from cable, on-line VOD, hotel systems, foreign distribution.
The fans of the performers (especially the retired ones) who appear in this video, really get screwed. A lot of us wanted to have one last video to remember Lexie or Tawny or Stefani--and we get this!

All the Vivid Girls (past, present) that I've ever talked to about him, say the love working with Chi Chi. It's even shown in the "Vivid Valley" reality show they produced a couple of years ago.
Many porn directors yell, intimidate, and bully performers on the set. But Chi Chi has never done that, to my knowledge. Which may explain why the Vivid Girls trusted him on this shoot, and believed in his misguided "concept" and make-up choices.
I guess this proves sometimes trust can be mis-placed.

Well I guess the Vivid Girls don't have a clue what makes a good lesbian movie either so you can't blame them. The only ones to be blamed are the guys at Vivid who let this "guy" direct 6 (!) editions of WTBA. But on the other hand Vivid have proven a thousand times that they don't know how to shoot good porn so I guess nobody is to blame for this. lol

Bullshit... directing lesbian stuff has nothing to do with a person being transexual or gay
Chi chi just isn't the person to shoot this terrible piece of work. There probably are alot of hetero or lesbian people who shouldn't direct this stuff either.
This series has gone down the hill since halfway in the 90's. Please stop it Vivid or choose another director.

From Vivid's point of view, as long as they have a reasonably good finished product, they're happy. Hard core adult film fans may hate it, but I'll bet even the worst film in this series outsells and makes more of a profit for Vivid than most of their other features. The whole "Murderer's Row" line-up is very attractive to the average consumer. Several studios release films that have two or three contract stars in them. But very few release films that have ALL of their contract actresses in them. Vivid actresses are extremely attractive and look good/sexy on the covers. In this depressed economy, that STILL moves a lot of units (relatively.)
I think this is the most important point being made with regards to this. Not to be catty or stereotyping, but even with every Vivid actress being extremely pleasant and accommodating, I can imagine directing this series to be quite difficult just from a logistics standpoint. I'll just use an analogy and say "Many people can manage a baseball team, very few people can manage the New York Yankees."
I actually have seen Mr. LaRue speak in Philadelphia. He is a very well spoken and I like him as a director. I really respect and admire his "condoms only" stance. He stuck to his guns and left Vivid over it.

Adult DVD Empire's in-house Reviewer just gave "Where the Boys Aren't #19" three out of a possible four stars, and a positive review.

Lanny was a not at the Vivid Red shoot that will be their 2009 AVN promo. That makes me believe that she is no longer under contract. Savanna and Tera have separate deals with Vivid than the other girls.

The Bruce Seven series Buttslammers is one of the best of all time.and the 2 movies Bruce directed Where the girls Sweat 1 and 2, are two of the best all time movies in my opinion.thats not what im looking for from a Vivid movie.im looking for something like they did with the movie Where the Boys Arent 12. now that was a great feature lesbian movie.this.

I totally agree with you on "WTBA 12". It's by far the best of the entire series. BTW, Jenteal thought "WTBA 12" wasn't going to be good, because the director was someone with mainstream movie cred, had never done porn before, and she didn't feel he knew how to work on a porn production. But, because the Vivid Girls in this shoot (Jenteal, Julia Ann, Janine, Dyanna Lauren, Kobe Tai, Alex Taylor, Devon, Raylene) were all pros, and enjoyed themselves, the sexvid worked. Plus, Jenteal took a dildo up her ass in the final scene. Can't top that!
This tends to prove one of my pet theories about porn: that porn directors really have little to do with how good the sexvid is, except for putting performers together that want to fuck each other--and have compatible sexual techniques. Which, to get back to WTBA #19, may another failure by director, Chi Chi LaRue.

WTBA 13 is equally good I think. And (surprise!) it's by the same director. Apparently the only 2 porn films he ever made.
At least I used to think those two movies were good back in the days. By today's standards I would ask for a bit more like extended and believable sex scenes but that's asking too much of a Vivid movie. I would be happy if they just went back to the sexiness because it's not hard for Vivid girls to be sexy in a movie but tons of make up on their faces, ridiculous costumes and dancing half naked guys surrounding them made that impossible actually.

Prophit you are right on the money.Vivid seems to not want to be bothered with this series anymore. they seems to just be throwing girls togather with bird wings and makeup, and saying get it over with. this is flatout terrible.this was a very good series at one time. can i get anyone from Vivid to respond on this board?

I also liked WTBA #13, and knew it was directed by the same Mainstream director, using the name "Eddie Edwards," who directed #12, and never directed porn again. What "Eddie" did do well was film all the action from good angles, framed the scenes so the bodies were all in the frame, shot as much film as possible(so it could be edited), and let the girls enjoy themselves. That's always been the "secret" to good porn.
When directors believe they're smarter than their performers, and begin "directing" the sex--they almost always mess up the scene. IMO, 90% of the best porn scenes (meaning scenes that work for the MOST viewers) are scenes that have little or no direction--AND performers who want to fuck each other. And are enjoying themselves.
So "Eddie Edwards," because he had never shot porn, let his performers "go" and do what pleased them, and it turned out very, very good. Whereas Chi Chi LaRue, who has been in the biz for years, felt that he knew enough about sex films that he could "create" a sexual experience, using the girls (in tons and tons and tons of make-up) as "props." And what we get is one of the worst g/g sexvids in recent memory. Go figure.

That's exactly right. Good sex is what makes porn good and that's something that many director's don't seem to understand. They think they have to force the performers into a certain direction that they would like to see. But what they would like to see rarely coincides with what the viewers would like to see so it would be better to let the performers just do their thing. This is probably not possible with everybody but at least with Vivid girls I think you don't need to tell them what to do (well I don't know about today's Vivid girls but girls like Janine, Jenteal, Raylene and so on they certainly knew their stuff).
I too would like to see somenone from Vivid comment on this. However I see that WTBA 19 is the best selling lesbian movie at ADE right now so why should they care I guess...

I agree. With this dvd doing acceptable sales, there's no reason for anyone from Vivid to comment on WTBA 19. The fact that WTBA 19 got a positive review, from Adult DVD Empire's in-house Reviewer, and was selected as "Editor's Pick" probably helped sales, too.
