Actually it *is* about the girls liking the male performers they shoot with, at least among other things. If she's faking (too much) it's just not fun to watch, at least not for me.
You make a good point. Though I think the whole "banning" thing might be a bit puerile; I don't believe they should be fired just because a couple people on a forum say they don't enjoy them. But the main point you make here is valid: the selection of quality male talent is disproportionately small compared to the overwhelming amount of gorgeous ladies in the business. All we're saying is that the studios should strongly consider hiring some new male talent, since the same guys have been around for ages now and we're starting to get a bit tired of it. Moreover, it's especially unnerving when the "talent" doesn't seem to possess much talent as such. It's become very clear that porn is not just about the women, and the males in the scene have just as big an impact on the viewer as the females. Consequently, we're asking that a little more effort be put in the male casting process. What would I like to see? Younger guys, they don't have to be ripped, even average looking guys with average bodies are okay. I'd much rather that than some 'roided out beast. I don't agree that the porn star has to be a stud. Just be able to keep a friggin' hardon, have some kind of hygiene, and know how to fuck. I don't think that's so unreasonable. We hear about new ladies every week, multiple times a week. When was the last time anyone heard of a new guy?

^That's probably because there aren't many new guys who can do it. I think many porn fans seriously underestimate what it takes to be a (straight) male pornstar. It really does take talent, and not every guy can do it. The reason that the guys we see all the time in porn have been able to make a career of it is because they've able to prove that they possess that talent. There are two main reasons that we see more new girls in porn than more new guys: (1) There is a constant high demand for new attractive girls, whereas there is understandably none for new guys. (2) Despite popular opinion here to the contrary, it takes much more work to be a male performer than a female performer, and for only a fraction of the money that the women make.
There are new guys. Just visit a talent site. Most of their work is probably relegated to web sites. If I was after fresh male performers, I would subscribe to those sites that pump out multiple scenes a week who are more likely to take a risk on a newer guy than say, Wicked - who spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on a movie - which would be fucked up if they didn't have male talent who had proven themselves over and over and over and over again. It's like anything else, the new people have to work their way up by proving themselves. Except new girls are treated in this industry like nowhere else in the world. Being green actually works in their benefit. In fact, people get off to girls who look lost and overwhelmed in their scenes. You guys would castrate a dude who did that. Just one of the many reasons you will never see men entering the talent pool as quickly as women.
Appreciated, but the crux of my argument was not that the studios should hire tons of new male performers every week and what have you. That's obviously not going to happen. I'm not saying we need all new guys right now, even a few new guys is better than none. One example of a great recent hire is Johnny Sins. He's very good looking, young, and knows how to fuck. I understand why the ratio of men to women is disproportionate; however, I was simply saying that as consumers many of us are growing tired of the monotony. I understand that not every guy can be a porn star; clearly, not every girl can be a porn star either. I see that it takes a good amount of work, but come on, out of the hundreds of millions of guys in the US, I'm pretty sure we could find at least a few dozen (if not a few hundred or thousand) who have what it takes and are willing to put in the effort. It's fucking, not rocket science. Another point is that each guy has their own 'style' of fucking, so to speak, and after watching the same guy do his same shtick over and over it gets boring, no matter how hot or fresh the girl is. Does that make sense?

From my perspective there are more new male faces. Much more than when I started watching porn just three or four years ago. In that time, the likes of Alan Stafford, James Deen, Rocco Reed, Danny Wylde, Keiran Lee, Marcus London and Keni Styles have joined the ranks. Some vets have disappeared like Tony Tedeschi and others have seen their workload reduced drastically like Kyle Stone and Chris Cannon. The turnover happens - it is happening.

Perhaps I should have rephrased that to read "young-looking," but by most standards being in one's 30s would still be considered young in comparison to the majority of older (or old-looking!) men in porn. Thanks Savoy. I haven't heard of some of those guys. I'll check them out.
