I'd start with the Golden Age of Porn (roughly 1970 through he mid-80's) because these movies were shot on film, features actors and actresses who could actually act and had a story. Here are some suggestions: The Opening of Misty Beethoven (1976), The Seduction of Lynn Carter (1974), Public Affairs (1983), Angel on Fire (1974) and The Filthy Rich (1980). These films all have damn fine plots and tend to feature the same male talent (Jamie Gillis, Hershel Savage and John Leslie). I've watched all of these with my wife (rest her soul) and we rather enjoyed them. Click to expand I remember pricing out the first commercially available Video Home Systems (yes, that what VHS actually stood for) in the summer of 1977. It was an RCA and was so expensive, there was no way I'd waste my money on it. In 2022 dollars, it was essentially selling for just under $5,000. Keep in mind, there were no titles available to rent and very few available to buy. I certainly don't remember porn being available to home viewers at that early date.
