...in their gonzo past?

I ask because some people say that doing IR will hurt a girl's (feature porn) career.

I don't know if they were contract girls or special guests but i remember at least 2 movies of Chloe Nichole on vivid .I'm not sure because sometimes european distributor do not declare original owner but I had the inpression that Johnni Black too did some Vivid features

Katsumi did for Sure and also did Kaylani Lei, Briana Banks,
Dru Barrymore, Sophie Evans,Jade Marcela,Miko Lee, Bamboo , Violet Blue and many others

but as said i don't know how many of them were contract girls

Taylor Hayes did some scenes with Mr Marcus, Lexus Locklear did too (was she a contract girl ?). Of the current crop, I can't think of any, except Briana, according to LCF.

But the term "IR" usually refers to "black male - white/asian female".
Furthermore, i don't know black or asian girls who say: "I don't do white men because it would hurt my career."

Go the Gangland - White Boy Stomp isn't considered inter-racial?
The term usually means either. Now what people are looking for may be another story.

Is this because it don't?

But if I remember well Japanese pornstars say so, they don't work with white or black males because this affect their careeers in Japan , at least this was what i read in a thread about japanese porn.

So some white Vivid girls did IR before they became contract girls.
And it didn't hurt their careers.

some vivid girls did ir while under contract. maybe if fans didn't make such a big deal about performers' skin color then the industry wouldn't either. yeah, i know - pipe dreams.

Vivid has stopped employing black male performers something like 3 or 4 years ago, supposedly because their contract girls are not attracted to black men. You, like I are perfectly free to doubt that. Interracial sex hurts cable sales, and foreign sales to certain territories. I suspect it's purely a financial decision.

Then they must have changed their mind. Janine has recently done an IR scene with Mr. Marcus and Sean Michaels. Janine has recently confirmed this "rumor" here.

The question is : will it be released ? Janine herself stated that this was not part of a movie. I wouldn't be surprised if they they put it on the Bonus Clips that are part of all their DVD editions. It will boost DVD sales and won't hurt cable sales.

Would any cable company like to share their sales reports to demonstrate how IR has hurt cable sales?

This issue has been bandied about for years, and if the cable companies are right, why haven't they already done so??

'Corporate BS' - a redundancy!

This is a copy / paste from another board made by Robert Lombard, who's a casting director for most softcore cable movies you see on Cinemax & Showtime about the lack of ethnic representation in softcore movies :

It has been difficult finding African Americans that are willing to work in the genre. Truthfully! MORE SO...Germany has not been favorable to African American talent in the past. This is a very delicate subject and I do NOT want anyone in this group to feel the issues regarding this subject is under my control. I am just the guy who follows Executive orders in the casting process.

If softcore producers cast their movies with foreign cable sales in mind, I suspect the major cable couples'porn providers act the same. I wish Robert had dwelt a little more on the subject, but he oviously wanted to leave it at that.

Yeah, the cable companies are going to come forward and provide evidence that IR scenes hurt sales. Like that's gunna happen. Same with the porn companies.

The truth of the matter is that IR can have a negative impact on a contract girl's fanbase (as evidenced by increased hatemail that some girls received), combined with the simple fact that some contract girls aren't attracted to black men.

People just want excuses to call people racist (which is what the original poster was fishing for). Get over it.

At least the people who write hatemail to performers who do IR are racists.

Something's wrong here it is true, now that you mention it, that here are few germans productions with black males inside but on the other hand Franco Roccaforte (Theo) the best black performer in Europe is german and worked a lot with Kelly Trump which also is german, but I think it depends on the fact that here are few black performers. Kelly Trump did a lot of IR movies i can remenber several scenes with Sean Michaels when he worked in Europe for some time expecially when directed by Joe D'Amato , It doesn't seems have affected her career besides as Sean himself said he had never found racism in european productions even Cicciolina and Moana Pozzi worked with him
without no reaction by anybody and Cicciolina was even elected in Parliament but this hadn't stopped her from doing porn and lots of IR.
I can remember Omar in Great Britain and Joachim in France both of them had mostly worked with white girls and in some Siffredi productions (Omar and Theo)

So it seems very strange that all of a sudden people in Europe become so racist to force american producers to avoid IR in cable films.Expecially because living in Europe I cant see this big mass of racist people round here

I actually read an interview where one performer (I can't remember who) said she wouldn't do IR because her friend had done some IR scenes, and had received death threats! That could keep some girls from doing IR.

On the IR issue, white female talent has been known to out-and-out lie and otherwise be inconsistent as to why they won't work with black men.

So someone (IIRC, Wendy Whoppers) said she got a death threat because she did black men? Really, now? Does that mean she would stop doing white men if someone had threatened her for that? Would she have allowed a death threat to make her quit porn altogether?

The question is not whether talent has the right to work with whomever they please. The issue is whether we fans have the right to be upset about the dishonesty of the no-IR talent - after all, as consumers we have some input into their earnings.

The only no-IR talent I can respect is one who says from the get-go that she is not attracted to black men or women AND will not work with any other unattractive performer, i.e. Ron Jeremy.

Personally, I don't feel they owe me an explanation at all.
Certainly. We vote with our wallets.

I just read Rog's interview with Janine and he says: "Conventional wisdom says that contract girls don't do interracial."

I don't think all the white contract girls refuse to do black men.
I think the feature companies avoid IR. They don't allow their contract girls to work for other companies.

You also have to take in to account that a company like Vivid makes a good chunk of it's money in cable and pay per view sales. If a certain cable provider or whatever will not take any movies with IR scenes, then they loose a lot of money. It's still racist, but it's also business.

Still, I have seen IR scenes in some stuff from Wicked, not Vivid. I know for sure there was at least one IR scene in Knockout, and I've heard that Blue Rain (I think thats the name. It was the Kaylani cop movie) has a good amount of IR (not always white on black, but a mix). I am pretty sure Kaylani has done a seen with Mister Marcus. And I am pretty sure Jesse Jane has as well, since it is an extra scene on the Loaded DVD.

I guess Vivid is just a company that doesn't take any risks. Although, they will hire guys who have done gay videos (I know they have used Ken Ryker a few times), and some companies will not hire a bi or straight performer who has done gay videos in the past. (Peter North is kind of an exception, except he denies that he was once Matt Ramsey, even though it is obviously him.) Still, some guys can do it. Look at Talon. Why they would want to do it? I don't know. The money difference is really big (although from what I've heard, Talon was stunted a lot. This was when he was Lex or Lance Baldwin).

I thought I posted in this thread earlier that both Lexus and Dasha did IR scenes for Vivid as contract girls. Both were with Mr. Marcus. "House of Sleeping Beauties 3" is one of my favorite Vivid movies, Lexus 3some with Jon Dough and Mr. Marcus. She was also with Mr. Marcus in "The Mobster's Wife" ...but I can't remember the name of the Vivid movie Dasha was in with him.

Why did i started this thread?

Well, some performers said that doing IR would hurt a white girl's career. I wondered if that was true.

I knew that the most popular gonzo girls did IR. But i didn't know white Vivid girls who did IR. Vivid contract girls are the best paid performers in the industry. So i started this thread.

Now i know that some white Vivid girls did IR. So the statement "doing IR will hurt a white girl's career" seems to be false. Does that mean girls who never did IR are racists? That's another debate.

"House of Sleeping Beauties 3" is from 1999, "Mobster's Wife" is from 1998. As Vodka Tonic said, Vivid has stopped employing black male performers something like 3 or 4 years ago.

Unless those girls gain a minor amount of money ,still paid more then elsewhere but not as much as those who didn't IR

I don't know how much are paid Vivid girls besides they have two markets DVDs and cable TV is it possible that some movies in which are girls who did IR cannot be transmitted in Cable programs?

Another question is it the same problem for every girl or for white American only? I mean is it possiblle that racists do not consider of their race european stars , I noticed that almost the whole stock of eurobabes did IR and seem have no problems with it

Wow. That's some poor logic you've got there. A handful of Vivid girls have done IR. And not the big names... Jenna Jameson, Racquel Darrian, Tera Patrick, Kobe Tai (stopped once she became a Vivid girl), Jill Kelly (not a Vivid girl), etc.

There most definitely is the perception that IR will hurt a girl's career. And who knows, maybe it's true. But the likelihood of that being true probably only applies to the bigger name stars who would otherwise garner a very large fanbase. Doing IR after a major pornstar has already jumped the shark (i.e. Janine, Dyanna Lauren, Dascha) is a poor indicator that IR doesn't hurt a major pornstar's career (mostly b/c doing the IR scenes is often a last-ditch attempt to improve lagging interest).

Rightly or wrongly, a lot of (often) white guys don't like their favourite pornstar doing IR. Just like they don't like their favourite pornstar doing girl-girl only. Just like they don't want to know their favourite pornstar is married. And that reduces a major pornstar's fanbase much more than doing IR would increase it, IMHO. And maybe some pornstars don't feel any attraction to IR scenes or feel the need to bow to others' pressure for them to prove they're not "racist". The whole "do a black guy to prove you're not racist" thing is so 60s it's pathetic...

Vivid doesn't use black employees at all? They had some great black female girls. What about Vivid Raw is that still a part of Vivid? I loved the Action Sports Sex and The Watcher series and they alway had great interracial scenes. I haven't seen a Vivid movie since the late 90s so I have no idea whats going on now.

More like, "won't hurt a white girl's career as much ". If she does the odd scene, it probably won't make that much of a difference (although it could). But if she becomes known for doing IR scenes it would. Remember, I'm talking the big names and not just any girl with a contract.
