I'm curious if there are some girls that were widely popular but now are widely viewed as less popular, and why people changed their minds. My example, and I don't enjoy saying this, is Angel Dark -- I've been watching her since her earliest scenes and she was always at the top of my list with just a few others, but now she's moved down a tier. The recent reason is her unhealthy weight loss (I like a slim girl, but there's always a line she shouldn't cross), but also the unfortunate fact the years are starting to show on her face -- she's finally crossed the line where younger girls have something she's lost. So, I'll still watch her, but she's not at the top of my list. A lot of other "formers" for me were when they got their first boob job or other major change in appearance, but none of those are recent. UPDATE -- OK, just to keep this topic focused, I want to clarify: 1) This is a discussion of girls CURRENTLY in the industry whose stock has RECENTLY dropped (within last 6 months) with you. These are girls who are established names with new DVD's sitting on shelves that you now walk past (at least metaphorically speaking). 2) Obviously it makes no sense to say a girl's stock has dropped BECAUSE she has recently retired and there are no fresh scenes of her. By the same token, it also makes no sense to say her stock has dropped only because she has switched to only doing lesbian or solo scenes, or only performing with her boyfriend. The discussion here is about girls that we're just not as interested in seeing as we used to, even though there's still plenty new material to see if we wanted. | Randomizer Member 234 Posts 6/08 | Posted - May 2 2009 : 11:39PM Girls need to be aware that if they're currently the #20 or #5 most popular girl in the industry, getting duck lips, botox, or big fake boobs will probably move them LOWER on the charts rather than higher, because her existing fan base will abandon her precisely because she's abandoned her own looks already, and it's pretty rare that guys who found the rest of her "look" unappealing when she was new and fresh will suddenly get a hardon when they look at a veteran that's added bolt-ons, etc. If the star has reached her late 20's and the miles are starting to show, I still think an established "brand" is better off not doing noticeable surgery (but if a surgeon can make her midsection a little flatter without anyone knowing why, more power to them) and instead focus on a healthy diet & exercise, to restore as much "youthful freshness" as she can, without altering the basic looks that made her popular when she was younger. On the other hand, if the girl hasn't already made a name for herself, I could see her making a bigger initial "splash" in the market if she entered it with 34DD's and a cute little nose rather than 34B's and a strangely hooked nose. Assuming she has personality and talent, she'll probably attract a different (but larger) customer base than if she tried to make a name for herself with what God gave her. [Link] |

But it is not the case 100% of the time. That's why I tried to outline some exceptions to the rule -- that once a girl has established herself, it is probably foolish to get surgery, but if she's just entering the business, getting surgery to look more "desirable" may not be a bad move. Good case in point in another post of mine: Lichelle Marie has a completely plastic body, which looks absurd, but attractive in a nasty sort of way to me. I have NO DOUBT that if she'd entered the business at the age of 18 with no surgery, I would prefer she stay completely natural... but I only saw her after she'd had herself worked over... and I give it a thumbs-up.
