I'm curious how many people actually lose interest in a favorite simply because of natural aging wear and tear on her face and body. It does seem like the overwhelming number of responses here involve the girl changing something about herself. I'm sort of suspecting that if the girl manages to become a FAVORITE with a consumer, she really has to screw up to lose his interest. But if the girl doesn't have a lot of dedicated fans, they are probably at greater risk of career demise from "natural causes", once their never-too-stunning face is all-too-familiar, producers tend to say, "next!" Vicky Vette actually strikes me as one that will stick around -- she looks very good for her age, and she has a lot of personality.
I have no problem with aging. My problems with a lot of girls are the choices they make to alter their appearance. I'd give my left nut to fuck Nina Hartley, Ginger Lynn, Francesca Le, or Kylie Ireland. I do have a problem with excessive makeup though, and it will look bad on both younger and older girls. What disappoints me in some MILF movies are the huge amounts of makeup. That makeup won't make her look 18 regardless, please drop the excessive stuff and let her show her natural beauty.
For me, I don't notice the aging too much unless a woman either retires from pr0n or enters semi-retirement by getting a contract. If I first notice a star as a teen, I'm probably going to like her for her teen body. As she matures into motherhood, I'm crass enough to hold it against her. (But I'd not mind if she held it against me, either *rimshot*.) I generally lose a lot of interest in a gal if she gets a boob job. I understand that women do with their bodies what they want to feel better about themselves. I just think, to paraphrase an august member of this board there are no good boob jobs...just varying degrees of tragedy. (I'm too fracking lazy at this moment to find the exact post. Sue me.) With all rules, there are exceptions. Their names are Miss Francesca Le, Eva, and Shyla.
Most girls that get boob jobs mid career. Practically all of them look awful, like two rocks sticking out of the chest. Jenny Hendrix went from perfection to some drugged out anorexic chick with a horrible boob job and ugly blonde hair. She had a unique mixed asian look with a big booty.
Adding my .02 to the fake boob issue: I've noticed when women get the work done, they seem to treat their boobs less as integral parts of their body rather than purchased accessories. I wonder if this change in mindest comes across in their onscreen (or even offscreen) personality. Or if a boobjob can be a physical sign of an attitude shift on the part of the actress. But yeah, I'll agree bad boob jobs and bad paint jobs will kill the deal for me. A "for instance" of bad tatts would be Dana Vespoli's. They may have meaning but they seem just so random. Maybe the content is meaningful to them but the locations do nothing for me on an aesthetic level. Conversely, even though Janine Lindemulder wrecked herself every which way from Sunday, at least-to me-the full sleeve work suggests she's headed toward a look that maybe I dont care for but it's not just random "more acceptable than cutting myself" bodmod.

That's another major difference in JAV and US porn I've noticed. Girls either enter the biz with the boob job or they keep what they got. I'd have to ask the real experts, but I can't think of any girl who did what Tera Patrick did, or even super cute Leeanna Heart getting that abysmal boob job.
With Jenny Hendrix it's not only her the new boobs, it's also the new face. Lela Star is a former favorite by default. It wasn't the plastic surgery, which I didn't even mind at the end, but the the Club Jenna contract. There were only three movies out of that deal I believe. Lela Undone, Pin Up Perversions and High Definition, and Lela Undone was the only worthwhile one. It's also the only one before the boob job. I haven't seen any thing new from her in ages except some G/G on her website. Lela in her prime will always be on my all time list though.

I don't have any outright problems with reviving some old ass thread from the doldrums, but if you're going to do it, I think it's important to make sure you're interpreting/using the thread appropriately, and whatever you're contributing to it has something important to say. This thread isn't about your *current* favorites but rather your *FORMER* favorites, and why they went from one of your favorites previously to now one of your non-favorites. There are lots of examples in this thread, but let me give you an example of my own, just to put things back on track.
Back in the day I thought Eve Lawrence/Laurence was the best pornstar in the world. Absolutely beautiful woman, amazing attitude, HUGE [fake] boobs. But as my preferences changed -- particularly toward creampie scenes and actresses that do them -- Eve sort of fell out of favor. So not only did she never do the scenes I most enjoy, and not only is her current content just not all that great, her aesthetics and interests have changed in ways that I don't enjoy. So, nothing against her whatsoever, but I don't consider her one of my favorites anymore.
