It's no secret that Griffith's character is based on the mannerisms and quirks of the one and only Annette Haven, but their looks couldn't be more polarized. Since both the movie and Ayres' career broke onto the scene at roughly the same time, I've been contemplating whether or not Griffith influenced Ayres' look or vice versa. This was two years prior to the release of Madonna's True Blue album cover, so I can't blame the Material Girl for this coiffure. Any musings? Compare the DVD artwork of either edition of Body Double and any VCA title featuring Ayres on the front or back cover to get a sense of this uncanny similarity.
