^ I bought mine a week ago and I'm blown away how cool it is. Besides, the major players like NETFLIX, AMAZON, PANDORA, etc., there are a ton of private channels that you can get for free that show movies, sports, news of all sorts, porn and a lot of special interest stuff I've never seen offered elsewhere (other than the net). At some point I plan to try out FYRETV but there's just so much free and mainstream stuff to check out it's going to take awhile. Before I bought it I read many reviews of people saying they cancelled their cable and watch ROKU full time. I don't plan to cancel my cable but realistically I can get all the stuff I get on cable (and more) through ROKU channels for a fraction of the cost. I'll probably drop part of my cable package in the next few months.[Link] |

Honestly, I never heard of Roku before FyreTV. Sounds interesting. Wish we had faster internet service. Streaming is not an option in the woods.[Link] |

I suspect ROKU will become a much more widely known product in the next few months. I'm seeing ads for it on lots of sites and they're available at TARGET stores now (and probably other outlets). As it becomes more popular I'm pretty sure more and more companies/sites will start streaming through it. As of right now not many people know wha it is and what it can do. I honestly think it's going to have a big effect on cable tv in the future.[Link] |
