Notice how the new poster actually thanked us, after I explained some options for him:A screencap is almost always protected by Fair Use (for purposes of discussion and comment). If you can't get a pic that adheres to the ADT Image Policy, there are sites where you can post xxx stills and link to them. I'm not, and I don't think killbill and/or other mods will, delete links to stills hosting sites (as, again, I believe this falls under Fair Use, and, it is the poster who presumably posted the still). In fact, I believe that helping fellow pervs find their favorite performers will only help grow the industry. Everybody wins. "Tube" sites are an entirely different matter. We (ADT) have decided that, since tube sites are the major sources of stolen content on the Internet, we will discourage the use of linking to such sites. This is a work-in-progress. Steph and Drew will, at some point, post a written ADT policy with regard to tube sites, etc. In the meantime, it falls upon the mods to delete links as necessary. Many in our ADT community make their living in the Adult industry. Many even advertise on, and/or have relationships with ADT. Most legitimate studios and websites offer free stills, samples and trailers that can assist those who want information. Let's do what we can to steer people in the right direction. Our goal should be to help those seeking information by educating them as to what legitimate sources are out there, and that benefit the entire Adult community in the process. [Link] |

Rather, killbillvol69 deleted a link "to tube sites carrying pirated content," and I offered some explanation and guidance. As for the rest of you, a lot of this angst -- including what constitutes Fair Use -- was discussed in the MODS - Deleting Stolen Content Links thread. If, after reading the "MODS - Deleting Stolen Content Links" thread, you feel you have more to contribute to this issue, I suggest continuing your comments there.
