Testing for STDs is done in the straight adult industry. What tests, for what, what frequencies, I have no idea. Testing is not routinely done in the gay porn industry. But there is a big catch about testing, even if done thoroughly and routinely. It is that there is a window between when one is exposed to HIV and when one starts developing measurable antibodies. The CDC says: Thus, there is the possibility that a person could have HIV and could transmit it via condomless sex even if the participants tested negative.The safer position therefore it seems to me is that taken by the mainstream gay industry--the wearing of condoms at all times. If I'm wrong about any of this, I'm sure someone will correct me. Anything to get the most accurate info out there. But I'm not preaching. They also said that for them, wearing a condom for anal sex was like putting on a seatbelt when going for a ride in a car – something that, largely because of their age, they take for granted. I do hope to someday be able to work with a gay couple that doesn't feel they need to use condoms, and is willing to do what's neccessary to make that a sane and rational choice.
