i see that at least vcx has some website to sell reisued dvd product...but who ran the original companies. what else were the owners involved with. where did all the money from the films go? was it funneled into other known aveneues? (for example in san francsico milestone records used money from sales of jazz lps to fund mainstream movies under the table, such as "one flew over the cukkoos nest)

In those days, Caballero (then called Caballero Control Corporation) had a mainstream arm whose main business was in children’s videos, ironically enough. For a short time, King worked in that division, before being offered an adult sales job by Klein.

Funny I was in one of my stores last night and they have a fair sized collection of Video-X-Pix classic library on DVD. A stickler for minutia I always read the fine print on box covers just out of habit. So while reading I noticed that Evart Enterprises is still included on the DVD box sleeves just like they were on the original 1980s VHS releases. Evart released VXP, Vidway, Quality X, Red Light District(not the current company), Hand in Hand product onto video. Evart also released a lot of Vince McMahon's WWE product onto home video calling it Coliseum Home Video when the WWE was known as the WWF. Very interesting how distribution deals are cut when it comes to home video!

VCX is actually still run by the same family that started it (and for the life of me I cannot remember the name). The first name is BOB. I met him at a party that they hosted at the AVN three years ago when they had first moved operations out to Las Vegas. At the time he was quite old and his two sons were getting ready to take over the whole business. I met Rhonda Jo Petty at the same party...talk about a MILF!
