I haven't seen many yet, but Nicholas Steele is shooting quite a few of his movies in hi-def widescreen for Adam & Eve.

"My Plaything Jenna Jameson 2: Its a Boy" is the only dvd I am aware of that has been shot in HD or Hi-Def.

the question should not be who's shooting in HD, the question should be who's finishing in HD?

I've seen a few BTSs from Adam & Eve where their equipment says, "HDCAM," but this does not mean that they have edited and then mastered to HD. I'm guessing that while they shoot in HD, the cost of the equipment that it takes to carry that resolution through to the end of the process is probably too great for them to actually finish on the HD format. They probably do shoot it HD, but then bump it down to DigiBeta or BetaSP to do the actual editing and mastering. A shame, considering the fact that they do have camera masters in HD, but then maybe they could go back and recut with HD equipment later.

Don't confuse widescreen with HD, you can shoot many formats to fit the 16:9 aspect ratio but this does not mean it's HD. Bill Broderick knows his stuff in this arena and maybe he can shed some light here as far as HD porn, but I don't think any exists to this point.

Thanx for that! I'm still a little confused by the various terminology. And where does anamorphic fit into this?

coffeycurve,
Thanks for posting the link to "The Digital Bits". Here is the thread in which that link originally appeared.

As far as HD is concerned, Adam & Eve is still the only company that I know is consistently shooting in HD. However, I think that Andrew Blake is also shooting in HD as well.

I also think that coffeycurve is correct in his assumptions that post production is not being done in HD. However since the original source is in HD, they can always go back and re-edit and master these movies when costs come down (if they want to).
