Do you mean the Adult Entertainment Expo run by AVN, or the CES adult section, which I think are two different entities (I had to pay separate admission to CES when I found out that my AEE pass would not cover CES)?
The folks at Adult DVD Empire will be there probably all four days. I may go there to cover a story or two or three during the latter days of the Expo.
I shall be there, for the 13th or 14th straight year, I forget. Just the usual, snapping pictures, doing interviews, passing out cards and seeing who wants the Rog T shirts :-) Maybe if I'm really nice, I'll get to interviw some big time directors and stars :-)
I would go if it was free... but if they're charging again, that would be a big "NO!!!!!". Fuck AVN if they charge their fans! Just like they fuck them for the lame awards show. It just shows that they care nothing about the fans.

Actually, Diesel, you're right. I had completely forgotten that CES tried to woo back some of the adult companies to their convention. I don't know which companies are going to be set up at CES though. Evil Angel will be at the AVN Expo one.
Oneloa- maybe I'm wrong, but I can think of almost no large convention that exhibits product and DOESN'T charge a fee for fans or consumers to get in. I go to a lot of the major car trade shows and internet trade shows, and they all charge an admission pass fee.
And I definitely can't think of any other event in the WORLD that would have as many porn girls (new, old, and future) under one roof as CES/ AVN Expo. I honestly don't know the price, but I imagine it's $50 or less for fans, which - if you're into wanting to meet stars, sounds like a bargain to me. I mean, if you went to a local strip club to meet your favorite girl, the cover charge could be about $20, plus there's usually a drink minimum (about $10 or more). So that's $30 or more dollars, and that's just to meet ONE girl!
What !!!! $50 just to get in !!!! I hope that at least the guys get a peck from the girls for the price since there is no chance you getto see a boob :-(
Tricia - Steph is correct. CES never charged for it (CES is still free as well as COMDEX). Last year was the first year that it wasn't free. I went in 2000 and it was free. The crowds were horrible, but it was free. I can see them charging $10 or $15 bucks. But, $50 is VERY steep for the fans. AVN have their priorities out of line.
French Guy - It's a great place to shake hands and get a pic with the girls. It's not worth $50 though.

Oh! I must be confused then.
For some reason I was thinking that CES was about $100 - I don't know what I'm thinking about.
Anyway, from www.avn.com and www.adult-expo.com:
Tickets are available on a daily basis during the following show days:
Wednesday, January 9, 1:00pm - 6:00pm Thursday, January 10, 1:00pm - 6:00pm Friday, January 11, 1:00pm - 5:00pm Saturday, January 12, 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Ticket Price Per Day: $25.00 plus all applicable processing , shipping and handling fees.
Disclaimer: Tickets are available on a daily basis only. Tickets may be purchased for more than on day. Tickets may be purchased in advance until December 28, 2001 while supplies last. Tickets are non-refundable and non-replacable if lost. Tickets will be mailed to you in advance if purchased before December 28, 2001. Tickets are available on a limited basis. Ticket holders must be at least 18 years of age and must present valid government issued identifcation card at the show.
However, if you can prove you have an affiliation with a business in the adult field (a video store, internet company, etc.) the price is $50 for all 4 days, and if you are a VSDA member, it is $35. (as per adult-expo.com)
STEPH - I'd LOVE FOR ANYONE FROM HERE TO GET TOGETHER FOR DINNER. I'M FREE ON TUESDAY or WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY NIGHTS AFTER THE SHOW CLOSES.
Waitaminit! CES isn't free, as I understand it. I had to pay $70 to get in last year. All the exhibits are free after that, but there is an entrance fee to CES. Maybe I was scammed...
Hear that everyone? Tricia is buying us all dinner! Cool!
I think CES is free if your register on line prior to the free registration cut off day. That's the way it used to work. I'm not sure if it's still the same way.
I haven't made up my mind yet. Like everyone else, the expense is what's stalling me. Hotel room, plane tickets, and whatever everything else is going to cost me - in the middle of winter (when I'm typically not working and coasting on autumns earnings...)... it's just, well... I dunno, and I feel so awkward about it, too. Like, I'd be standing around feeling like a backwoods hick with nothing to do.
I'll be there for both Internext and the AVN Expo with my trusty N90s in hand with loads and loads of film. Each year I look more and more forward to it.
Who is staying where? I'll be camped out at the Venetian.

I'd like to go, and possibly meet Joey Silvera if he is there, and I'd also like to meet John Stagliano. And don't think I would forget about you, Tricia. It's not so much the price of getting there but to stay in a hotel, would be way too much $$$.
KIMI - I have never met a porn star or anyone associated with porndom in my life, so I'd probably feel the same way as you.
I'll be there from the 8th to the 13th. Will be at Adult Expo and spend some time at CES. Will be at the PLAZA (i like downtown LV). I'm up for a dinner meeting (worked great for RAME).
From www.cesweb.org - "Exhibits-Plus Pass Free until December 7, the Exhibits-Plus Pass gives you access to all CES exhibits, keynote speeches, SuperSessions and selected conference sessions. After December 7, the Exhibits-Plus Pass is $75. "
Ahh Kimi the price of being a freelancer and not a contract girl. I can't believe one of the companies though that you've done quite a bit of work for wouldn't put you up so you can stand out front for some meet and greet with the fans and promote their product. They are making a big mistake.
Unless you live in Las Vegas or nearby, the real cost of going to these things is the room and restaurant costs, and unless from LA or environs, the airline cost of getting there. Plus the time off.
Wish I could go. It's a time and timing issue for me. I think next year I'm gonna make a real effort to attend both the NJ and Vegas shows.
I'll be there.... I'll be getting in on the 8th... staying over at the Riv. Venetian is way too much this year.. that is the prices I was hearing were way too much. Plus I get a real good deal over at the Riv. I don't know how long the whole thing is this year. But, I'll be there for however long I need to be. I'll probably be signing at the VCA booth. I have another movie coming out for them at the beginning of the year. yayayya. I'm looking forward to seeing the new cover I just did. Anyway, I'm free pretty much the entire time I'm there. I'm not getting paid to be there.. so I can go and do whatever.. . I'm sure we'll see each other Steph... and I'll have to say hi to you too Tricia. I wont be going to the other show.. before CES. Just from the 8th on... see you all there... Oh, and there are plenty of girls who do flash... plenty of almost naked girls walking around,...and plenty of chances for photos everywhere. Bring a camera and lots of film. And, the way I see it... $25.00 is way worth the trip. There are more adult girls and guys there than you could find anywhere. And, it's also the best show to go to if you want to get a good collection of photos. Yes the girls get tired... and yes there are lines.. and yes there is boobs and ass. If you are a true lover of porn... this is where you want to be to see all the stars. I know that there are a lot of other costs to consider... But, believe it or not.. the very first time I ever went to CES I got a badge for free... because you can get them online before a certain date for free.... or you use to be able to. I managed to get a really inexpensive flight from Fl to Vegas... and a hotel room for less than $50. a night. If you call Vegas information.. they will give you a number for a place that tells you about hotel fairs. It's not that difficult to go to Vegas, go to the show and get a flight if you actually try. It just all depends on what you want to spend or what you can spend. And, trust me.. I was living on change when I went the first time. Just go and have fun... be happy,.... it's a good time.. and you will see a lot of the girls in the hotels too... especially the Venetian. Don't be afraid to say hi... hugs
To all with Hotel cost concerns in Vegas,My travel agent Gets me in the Palace station (I know off strip )for$20 a night. So you may have to travel a little to get to the strip, but the stars are worth it by a long shot.
Kimi, we could share a room-my treat. I've been getting loads of offers from everywhere on the strip-Caesars Place, Riveria, Paris Paris, etc-mostly for $20 a night. The airfares are dirt cheap too. Maybe it has something to do with how much money I blew back in Sept...
I came close to going (could still change my mind) this year but will probably wait for a better time. I would've liked seeing some of you there. Oh well...
Kimi, had I seen your post a bit sooner, Imay have decided to go after all. (sniff) The deals being sent to losers, errrr I mean really, really bad gamblers like myself were sweet. Of course you could've shared my room (I suspect you'd be out partying all day and night so it's not like you'd have been an imposition on me) if I went.
The latest round of offers haven't been as good-most of the rooms going for about $40 or $50 a night-but still well worth the trip for those who aren't tied to plans (as I have become). In any case, you should see what each one will offer you-a hotty like you should be able to get a good deal even during heavily traveled seasons. Hugs!
there you go, puncturing my imaginings, once again!!!
The apparent innocense of this offer and it would seem ready acceptance was quite startling to me. And in a way rather charming.
So there I was, rethinking things. (Well truth be told I can definitely act within that mode, but don't expect anyone to think so until they know me well.)
And you had to emerge with your real world cynicism
I'm emotionally devestated. I blame you. Beautiful.
