This could be Jenna's way to give her long suffering fans a treat before disappearing into contract oblivion with Vivid or Wicked. If it is her, I hope Jules has some surprises.
I'd probably pick up this title no matter who the girl is as I really liked Gina Lynn's Darkside and I wasn't a fan of hers prior to that video.

Exactly. Jenna having neither of those is a major turnoff.
I'll say that Lauren Phoenix makes perfect sense. She has been very active as of late, especially with Wicked Pictures and Evil Angel Produtions. The girl has it all and could definately satisfy various fetishes that a given fan would have regarding her. The DVD would be a two-disc set with probably 7 or 8 scenes with a bonus scene included. Other possiblities include: Roxy Jezel, Luscious Lopez ( a newbee, but has the body and skills), Katsumi, and Katja Kassin (highly recommend).
I just sense that Taylor St. Claire would have been a great option about two or three years ago when she was on fire in the industry. Jenna Haze would definately be a huge splash and, probably the biggest money maker for Evil Angel since Fashionistas in 2001. Maybe that was taking it a little to far, but you know where I'm going with that. If I had to choose, it would be Jenna Haze, but I just don't see it happening for some reason.

As I understand it Lauren Phoenix is currently in an exclusive arrangement with Defiance Films, so she isn't really a possibility at the moment.
There is a Defiance press release from August this year here which states "Under the new contract, Phoenix will perform and direct exclusively for Defiance and sister company Torrid Entertainment for one year, with an option to renew for a second year." So she's under contract for at least another 8 months.

I feel that in order for Jules to keep this special he has to feature women that he's got some history with, but hasn't quite pulled everything possible out of. While there are plenty of women we want to see do more, the list gets cut down considerably if he continues to apply that criteria. There's a trio of Asians that could fill the bill nicely. Nautic Thorn, Charmane Star and Cris Taliana. Of course, Cris would appear to be out of the industry, but by the time he actually got around to doing another one, that might not be the case.
A Charmane Starr, Cris Taliana or Nautica Thorn Dark Side with some special appearances by Sabrine Maui, Brooke Milano or Julea London would be excellent.

I agree the Dark Side series should be special and not star girls who show off their Dark Side on a regular basis. Jenna Haze gets a pass obviously because it's been 4 years since we've seen her working with guys. I wouldn't mind seeing a Kaylynn Dark Side, but only if she swallows and/or takes a cream pie, both things I've never seen her do on film.
If that's the criteria might I suggest Sunny Lane. It would mean her doing plenty of firsts, but if she was excited and willing I think it'd turn out pretty hot. And I'm not just saying that as a big Sunny Lane mark, though that's certainly part of it.
Imagine what Jules could create with the high energy, gorgeous, nasty, and always delicious Tory Lane!

I'm inclined to agree with those who think that a Devon's Darkside would be the ultimate - but I just don't see it happening.
In the absence of that ideal I would suggest Jenaveve Jolie for the series - she is someone who doesn't seem to have pushed at her own boundaries too much so there is potentially a lot of darkside to explore there, but still the impression I get is that she is someone who might be willing to go into those dark places with the right persuasion.
What's up with Mercedez now? Is she retired? Anyone seen any of her last Vivid stuff that is supposed to be a bit rougher? I think she'd be a perfect choice for a Dark Side movie but I doubt she'd be up for it.
I was half-joking when I suggested Mercedez. Out of spite, only because I know she'd HATE it would I like to see her do something like Dark Side for Jules. Right now, I have a love/hate relationship with the woman: I love her look, hate her performances. If she were even HALF the performer that the majority of the girls out here without contracts were, I'd start a fuckin' online petition just to have Jules TALK to her. But she isn't. She's a waste of space and Porn Valley air.
She wrote on her Yahoo! Group a while back in October that in November of '05 she'd be shooting a flick oh-so-originally entitled "The Dark Side of Mercedez" directed by Chi-Chi LaRue and in it she promised to be "dirtier" (which apparently was the cause of conflict with her and Vivid, as in, she wasn't dirty enough and was part of the reason her contract was terminated prematurely before they came to terms) with her "taking anal and lots of facials."
She continued: "My contract is up in the beginning of February and I hope to re-sign with Vivid but if not I am planning on staying in the business for a long time. I am not going anywhere guys don't worry."
On January 25, 2006, AVN.com posted that Mercedez and Vivid had amicably parted ways (Mercedez Becomes Free Agent). A month or so later, they ran an interview with her (Mercedez Reveals Plans) where she basically reiterated her plans not to disappear but mostly concentrate on her website. With her effectively gone, I now have to concentrate my hate on Exotica.
My serious first pick for the next Dark Side would still be Janine. If she's done DONE with the business then I say Tory Lane who has done nearly everything on camera and does it consistently but she's someone worth making an exception for, I think.

Much as I enjoy Tiffany's performances, I'm not sure she's right for a "Darkside." I think "Darkside" has to have unusual performances from the star. Its hard to know for sure what a girl have done or not done, since most database are done by fan on a volountary point. The whole industry would really need a 100% accurate database that compagny would have to send each movie they done and every things in it. But that don`t gonna happen soon sadly...
