The other day I was checking out some Alpha Blue Archive classics. Despite the fact that the picture quality was no where near the DVD quality of today, but there was something more erotic about them than todays porn.
1- girls looked natural, no fake this and that 2- scenes didn't go on for half an hour 3- there was more raw animalistic sex, rape, pissing, fisting, incest, satanic themes, etc. 4- the acting was more convincing than today's 5- there was some attempt to having a storyline and plot.
Don't get me wrong, I like the gonzo stuff of today, but every once in a awhile watching a classic feels like a breeze of fresh air. at what point did all this change? specially with number 3. why did Americans stop making films with fisting, pissing, rape, satanic worship and all?
For the same reason that in the 70's there were bands like Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd while nowadays there is only rap music and girlie pop.
Well back in the day there was a lot more attention put into every porn movie as it was meant to be seen in a theatre. They put a lot of time and effort into making movies as film wasn't cheap. The stars names were lit up on a marquee and stars were made and remain in our minds today unlike the starlet of today which is forgotten in 6 months. These movies were meant to be timeless. Porn back then was eagerly awaited by the fans unlike today's porn when a new movie is released by 500 different companies daily. The day of the big stars is long gone and with it goes the unforgettable classics. It was the golden age of porn.
The women seemed older in the 70's porns.I haven't seen that much but it doesn't seem as teen oriented as todays porn.Most of the stars were in there late 20's early 30's.seka comes to mind .
Well yes. There were some things missing, obviously. But what happens so often is that when people make changes and go in different directions, they just discard everything...including whatever was good about what they were doing before. Fresh blood comes in and they have no idea what the people before them were doing and they don't care. They have their own ideas and they'll learn the lessons the old timers already knew the hard way. They'll make some good stuff but it won't be half as good as it could be if they mixed new ideas with old success stories and pretty soon, somebody else will come along determined to do everything their own way and on and on and on.
Porn never really matures because it (and those who make it) has such a short shelf life. If it was made longer than three weeks ago, it's old, old news. What's new? What's fresh? Where are the girls who just stepped off the bus? What new stunt can we incorporate into the action today?

I just finished reading "The Other Hollywood," and the reason the acting was better was because (the male performers, anyway) were real actors. Starving Shakespeare-in-the-park, summer-stock-on-Nantucket-Island actors.
Ahh yes. But what I meant was that while it changes, the people who are making porn today don't seem to remember the good things about porn of yesteryear. Many of them do a nice job bringing the hardcore filth most of us want to see to the screen but something's missing. I wasn't around in the golden years (well, I was but I couldn't watch porn) but obviously, there was something about it that a lot of people who watched porn then and who still watch porn now miss about it.
I've seen a few "classics" and I saw a lot that I didn't like. Big, hairy bushes, atrocious hairdos, terrible clothing, obnoxious music, bad sound, bad picture quality, no anal, hardly any cum swallowing. But there were some things I did like as well. There was some kind of solid framework that made it all work in spite of all it's bad points. That is not necessarily the case in today's porn. Again, there are some people making some damn fine porn today and I don't mean to insult them at all. There's a lot that I just don't have the time and money to see so I can't judge the entire industry based upon just what I see or have seen.
All I'm saying is that a lot of today's porn is an entirely different animal than the porn of yesteryear. It isn't classic porn grown up. Not many people making porn today remember the classics. They're doing their own thing. Some are doing a great job but most aren't.
I know this naive of me; but can you buy the Alpha Blues video scenes from the 70s and 80s on DVD?
And if you can; where are they found?

70's era porn went away for one reason and one reason alone. Everyone was sick and tired of the dumb music that played during each and every damned scene...I call it "chicka wa wa music."
That was definitely there, onfortunately on most DVD releases those scenes were cut.

The reason why 1970s adult porno went away was because of the time change..you know? after 1970s...the 1980s? duhh :) you people need to do the math..its so easy..lol :)
I also like the classics from the 70s. I wouldnt say they vanished, at the contrary, so many 70s titles were released on DVD. Now you can watch much more classics than in the early 90s, when the 80s releases were sold out.
I am really happy that so many US classics are available on DVD.
In the 70s, sex scenes werent overdone, the sex was shorter and more authentic. Many US porn directors are exaggerating. Some scenes are 30 minutes or longer. Single scenes ! In the 70s, these were 2 loops (short movies) in an half hour.
