Many studios have large selections of old titles that they are slowly releasing on disc. The list of films that I wanted to be released on DVD is much shorter now than it was a year ago due to titles becoming available.  [Link] |

I have that set on A-B repeat for weeks if I could! It really sucks that we have to wait 6 months to a year, or more, for the DVD's to come out. The porn industry is so far behind the times! I mean, hey, Circuit City stopped selling tapes a couple of months ago! And it's getting to be worse than that! Strap-On Sally #18 has yet to arrive in the stores in Cleveland, Ohio, and Jim Gunn says he is alreading making #'s 20 and 21! I'm talking about tapes here, for the DVD's we should live so long! I know, I could order them from Jaded or somebody, but I still like to go to the local adult stores to check the new realeases every Tuesday and Friday--getting to be a wasted trip unless I go to stripper club too. Actually, I've been doing the clubs and forgetting the video stores--much better! BC [Link] |

It was my understanding that the adult industry were one of the first groups to utilize vcrs when it was introduced to the mass market in the early eighties. This was because it allowed the producers access to a greater number of viewers that they would not have otherwise had since it allowed individuals to watch porn in the privacy of their own homes. 2. Current DVD revolution: I really think that major entertainment corporations (like Time Warner and Viacom) recognized the ability to generate new profits from the huge archive of material that they have. For once, the mainstream studios realized the market potential of the product, embraced the technology, and worked together to standardize the format to actually ignite movie purchases at a reasonable cost for individuals. 3. Cost: New dvd players can be now be purchased at the same price as vcrs (under $100). Considering the quality of video, easy scene access, and space-saving features of dvd (thus allowing more tv box sets with several hours of video), this incremental costs makes dvd players a superior alternative to vcrs. The only weakness of dvd players is the lack of a standardized recording format, but I believe this will be addressed and resolved within the next two years. [Link] |

Unless one is lucky (or prepared to pay higher prices on some Euro sites) you can't seem to get many of these. It would be nice if VCA could release some of these titles (bit by bit). Also, what about some of the early Buttman titles? I've asked about these before, but never got any satisfactory answer. [Link] |
