I must admit Hardware, I had to look up the word 'palpable'
They didn't teach that one in the ghetto school system that I had attended while growing up-(and no I never have).

However, you have been a worthy critic of my posts. Make no mistake, I am total Scum. I will miss our disagreements when ADT finally bans me from it's forum when it finally can no longer accept my extreme viewpoints. However, there will be hordes of others with similar viewpoints to follow and you will be there ever-watching.

Okay, green-toke,
I got your point.
I guess that's exactly what people mean when they say that some of the porn fans have a love/hate thing going on in relationship to women.

Please don't mind that some of us prefer to stay Jedi Knights.

Ah yes, our good friend from the UK has come on to ADT to express his viewpoint. As an Englishman, I am sure that the mere idea of Ebonics in pornography titles must drive you quite mad. I know my friend, we Americans have pissed on the English language for far too long but what can be done?

How would you properly title a Smut video which is full of women being smacked around, choked, head-stomped, and choked-fucked?

You tell me what an appropriate title for such a film is and I will drive the porn studios mad with e-mails about how these films should be labeled.

By the way, I have been meaning to come to the UK to check out some of your BDSM shops. I hear that they are some of the most vial in existence. Any suggestions?

Take care my friend!!

juha, I respect your views even when we might find ourselves in disagreement.

Check my posts here and you notce that I dont use this kind of language discussing girls hre in this forum. But this is exactly the ghetto-language of porn box-covers. And I honestly dont see why we should take it more seriousely than the girls volontarily and consentingly playing these acts do.

Truth as I have observed it over & over first hand is that the majority of actresses choose to not even look at their work because they don't want to see it, unless it's softcore tease or pretty-girl stuff. & the vast majority are not pleased with the box cover copy but shrug it off. Which leaves two remaining, sometimes intertwined types: The ones who really like it, & the ones who are just glad to be getting any attention at all for the first time in their lives.

Agreed. I know this penomenon. But this doesnt proof that they take it serious. Nor that they dont do it because they are offended by the language used by their producers to sell the product they contributed to. Most porn girls just dont care about covers and dvd quality as long as they get booked&payed, IMO.

Well , I'm English , so that probably means me too ! Ebonics doesn't piss off most of my countrymen , from what I can tell , it just makes us piss ourselves with laughter . Check out AliG if you want proof , or look at his real world embodiment TonyT .

As to the thread's central question , well , the answer seems pretty obvious . Laziness ? Stupidity ? Contempt ? Yep , I'm feeling all of these things right now .

Do I owe you sex too ? If so do you want it paid back in regular installments , or one huge one ?

Now I come to think of it there are quite a few women I may owe sex to . Nearly all of them in fact ! Think I'll start with that cute one serving me coffee this morning , and see if she demands immediate payback .

It did not make me angry.
But it made me laugh, and it still makes me laugh, if some men think they are god's gift to women and think any woman will fell to her knees with a wet pussy, ready to suck and get angry, if women refuse their classy advances.

So if you don't hate women then you are politically correct? In the future I will take that supposed insult as a compliment. Really sad.

Steph, I would argue that boxcover descriptions usually have nothing to do with wheter the autor hates women or not, but largely porn cliche ghetto language vs. political correct talk using no filty words at all.

Hating women in real life is a completely other thing not as easily deductible by what porn one watches etc as forum talkers like juha, matthew etc suggest.

Devinn Lane: 100% agree!
Why should the companies call their product in a way that doesnt sell?

Mienhagen, I was referring to green-toke's response to Hardware. This seems to be a frequent "attack" in the forum when someone isn't angry at women. I get it all the time for asking people not to use our forum to proclaim their hatred of women.

Boxcover language is just one company copying another copying another with a few misogynists thrown in to sweeten the text.

I don't buy the argument that that's what the market demands. It's one segment of the market. The market is far more complex than that. There's a huge portion of the market that is barely served. They are harder to reach and easy to push away.

Yes, its one segment of the market. But we are talking here at ADT 95% of exactly that companies producing for this segment, I think. If I check what other companies mailorder companies carry I see Dotzens I dont know, because they dont cater for my consumer needs. Dont you think this is that other segment? Dont they have their own discussion forum on the net, too? And if not, maybe somebody should start it...

Mienhagen, it really bothers me that you think ADT is only for the discussion of a certain type of movie. Please look around - it's not the case. I will point to Tony Comstock as a very active member who presents someone doing something different. I'm sorry but I'm done with this conversation. It's too depressing.

I am sorry, Steph. I didnt want to upset you. I never read Tony Comstock because indeed, he produces stuff, I have no interest in. But I am glad he is about. I am glad this forum exits. Maybe I read too little what people not sharing my porn taste write. I never visited some under-forums, too.

Writing about the other market segment I mainly thought of Vivid, Wicked, Jill Kelly and those dotzen other companies. I think they sell a lot, but it seems that we never discuss these films here. Or maybe some do, but I never read it?

See, I don't want to say anything against people with mental problems. But I prefer to have the text on my product to be written by someone, who is not suffering from tourette-syndrome engaging in coprolalia, which is what this "ghetto speak" in most cases really is.

I don't even care if it is degrading to women, first of all it is insulting to the consumer, be he, she, s-he male, female or intersexual. But probably some people like to be insulted.
I do not.
So my politically incorrect advise to companies is, go find another job than author for cover texts for your quota-person to meet the laws for employing people with special needs.
If you want ghetto speak, vulgarity and so on, then I'll advise you to take a few classes on lyrics.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe wrote some highly vulgar poems, e.g., which are - believe it or not - not insulting and even entertaining for an [adult] consumer.

Don't be too depressed. Nearly everyday we get a note more or less like the following:

...I found the interview and the sex both really enjoyable (this is
newsworthy--I've never said this about watching sex ever--nothing made
my skin crawl, nothing turned me off--I just wanted to watch more and
more).

Loudest doesn't mean most numerous.

I am not sure if these comments were directed towards one of my previous posts, but I don't feel like anyone is exchanging insults here. This is a simple discussion about the topic at hand. Now in my previous posts, I had clearly used the word fantasy .

It is far too easy for people to take things the wrong way when they are looking at them in the wrong context. I don't wish to imply that people have to actually hate anyone but they can have a fantasy about being the aggressor.

Well now, since I have now had a moderator and an administrator question or make comment on my opinions which are now being misinterpreted as insults. I will not be making anymore replies in this thread or further read anyone's comments in this thread to prevent myself from being tempted. Say what you will about the topic.

I do not wish to upset the staff here at AdultDVDTalk as they are in fact doing a fine job.

So I guess it's OK if I watch my DVD titled "A Cum Sucking Whore Named Kacey"? I love Kacey, but haven't watched this one yet. I would have just felt better about it if they had named it "Kacey's Greatest Hits".

Same to me! Amen!

As for Matthew: If you ask me, of course watching/renting/buying "A Cum Sucking Whore Named Kacey" is okay. But its up to you to decide! Me, too, I dont like the titles of these Anabolic compilations, but I simply dont take them too seriousely. I simply read that word "whore" in a porn context and understand that Anabolic just wants to advertize Kacey as a great porn performer. Thats all. Thus my advice: Rent that dvd, pop it in the player, get confortable and enjoy! For Gods Sake, just enjoy!

Beautiful angels having fun doesn't sound very hardcore... Sounds more like the sports illustrated dvds... gotta love those btw.

If the girls are enjoying the whore part I see no problem with it, I like porn because I like slutty girls. I'm pretty sick though, I can enjoy watching girls being abused, but I think it's in the same way as I enjoy other kinds of extreme movies. The best movies imo are filled with violence, sex, drugs and nasty humor.

I prefer girls who enjoy themselves in some way, no matter how hard they get fucked I want them to enjoy something about it, like turning the performing guys or the viewer on.

Huh?

What I mean is that the terms "whore" and "slut" as used apropos of porn are true in their most literal sense, not some "ghetto slang". The girls sell their bodies for money: they're whores. They engage is filthy sex with all comers: they're sluts. Great thing is, they wear these labels like badges: that's what's so cool about them.

I think you have to remember that nothing's real in porn - everyone's playing a role. The girls may talk dirty and act dirty on camera, but that's probably not the "real them". The same is true of porn viewers: when watching porn I might think to myself "Yeah, slam the filthy bitch!" or something, but that doesn't make me a misogynist. I may laugh evilly to myself at some outrageous boxcover, but that's part of the game - there's always a separation between porn and reality. Most fans have no problem keeping the two worlds separate, though obviously the ones who can't probably do a lot of harm to themselves and others.

ADT is interesting, because it's kind of a half-way house. On the one hand, people on the forum are in a porn frame of mind, but at the same time it's a public forum and we (usually) discuss things calmly and politely. So it shouldn't be surprising if sometimes posts cross the line one way or the other, and to conclude that this means everyone's a woman-hater and it's all too depressing I don't think is a proportionate reaction.

I would have to agree with the sentiments of many of the posts made before me. It all comes down to economics - supply and demand. The 'buyers' want "filthy whore sluts 5" or whatever and so the 'producers' produce exactly that. I also agree that the girls in these movies are getting paid as 'compensation' and if they still dont want to do it they dont have to. These are the ways of a capitilistic economy. Its their choice.

Now just as they have the choice to act in these movies , you have the choice to buy/rent them. As some have advised you ... there are quite a few titles that are not that explicit and you can go for these movies.

For me personally i really couldnt care what the title is. As long as the action stays the same , i could care less if its called "Good times for all". And if the girls in these movies wanted it to be this way i would sure as hell support it. I must say though ... calling some bukkake movie anything other than cumguzzling sluts (or something similar) is rather pointless and misleading!

Furthermore ... is slut really that derogatory? Isnt a slut just a promiscuous woman? I know society has given it a bad connotation and labled it a horrible word to use but for me i just see it as a descriptive way to describe these girls. I mean im not so sure about the technicallities of the english language here but for example i would have no problem with someone calling me a male slut (meaning i have sex as often or as regularly as i can). With all this im just trying to say that contrary to most of society i dont see slut as a bad word and if i was to use it i dont mean it in a derogatory way at all (i do realise i am in the minority here). Anyhows im going off topic here into the whole slut vs stud sexism debate so ill stop here.

My all time favourite porn title is "1 in the pink 1 in the stink"...
Although a lot of the boxcovers feature words like "whore", "sluts", "cum buckets" etc. I don't take it personal. Porn is my profession but other than that I'm far from being all that. I'm a normal almost boring girl that falls asleep in front of the TV right before the monster starts killing everyone.
I don't care if the boxcover says I'm a nasty anal slut, the companies just try to sell their movies and if that's what works for them fine but if some guy ever dares to call me names while I'm shopping for tampons and facial soap in the pharmacy I will probably kick his ass.

...and right so, Katja! Who cannot separate phantasy and reality needs to be kicket back into reality. Sometimes I really wonder theory level we reach with our discussins here when it just comes down to sales and marketing, supply and demand etc.
Again, Katja, I like it how level-headed you are!

They should add this to the curriculum in elementary school:

"'Name of character' (name of performer) is a whore." != "'Name of performer' is a whore."

"Watch the whore 'name of performer'." != "Enjoy how 'name of performer' portrays a whore."

Why are so many film titles derogatory to women?

It obviously sells or they wouldn't keep doing it. I'm with you really, but as members of the porn watching / buying public at large I suspect we only have ourselves to blame.

Good Lord. The wisest words I've heard in aeons. What're we talking about? Oh yes - deragatory to women. Mrs. 60 occasionally likes to be referred to with derogatory terms -- does that make her a bad person?

I broke up with my boyfriend who used to call me darling when we made love because I fell in love with a man who calls me slut when he fucks me. - Anonymous.

That sums up my take on things. One person's 'derogatory' is another's delight.

Ever see the titles of those JAV flicks? Then again, Japanese porn takes a totally different tack. They porrtray their girls as totally innocent, seduced by a wiley older man. Well, from what I can tell, anyway. :) Our porn portrays the girls as pigs. They certainly don't do that.

I am reminded that the literal meaning of "pornography" is "writing about prostitutes".

To use words like slut and whore in titles is, then, to partake in a millennia old tradition.

This is our pornoheritage. Better to embrace it, celebrate it, and be proud of it than disparage it.
