Higher frame rates give the image a more "live" feel. The movement seems more fluid and natural. It doesn't really have much effect on the clarity of the image. With video, 30fps is actually more common, so when you see 24fps stuff like Lansky, Naughty America or most of the Brett Brando directed scenes on Brazzers, it's probably an artistic choice to give the scene a more cinematic feel as it's what people are used to from mainstream movies over the last 80 years or so. Higher frame rates often are perceived to be cheaper or fake looking when used on material that otherwise looks like a regular movie. An interesting article on higher framerates http://gizmodo.com/5969817/the-hobbit-an-unexpected-masterclass-in-why-48-fps-fails
Personally I prefer higher framerates on JulesJordan and Evil Angel type gonzo porn, but prefer 24fps for scenes like Porn Fidelity or story driven stuff.

If you read my message carefully, you will see, i didn't said this, i mean to uploading higher quality videos more expensive thing either 24 or 60 fps, for offering acceptable quality downloads you have to pay more for hosting and bandwith even in 24 or 29 fps.

Nobody said you attacking anybody, your posts in tech releated threads pointless and rude for who care about technical details and expect higher video quality.

Good points. There's surely more to the exceptional quality of Lansky's scenes than just the fact he's using a top-of-the-line camera.

Yeah pretty much sympathize with this. And I think it's been pretty well decided by popular opinion that the 24fps standard is what audiences prefer for stories. There's just something sort of weirdly "magic" and fantastic about it. It's kind of like that other Hollywood convention in which every movie set in ancient times will be voiced with British accents, even if it doesn't make sense, it just "feels" right. I actually think we'll sooner see the British accent convention fade away sooner than the 24fps standard ever evolves.
I definitely won't dismiss suggestions for higher FPS experimentation in porn though. I think porn producers really ought to experiment more, but of course I also don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars invested in it. I just wanted to note again how very conservative porn is these days. Hardly anybody dares take the slightest risks except once every few years.

24-30 fps might be better for the slow paced/romantic/dreamy style of Lanky's movies, but 60fps is definitely better for more candid fast paced gonzo style action.
I admit it takes a bit of getting used to but it is better for much the same reasons that 60fps has become the standard for video gaming. It allows for much smoother action
As Kevin pointed out much of the inertia lies in the supply/distribution end. I think that if consumers had the ability to choose between watching any video in their collection in 24fps or 60fps, they would soon come to demand 60fps.

60fps (or at least 50) over 24 anytime !
EVERY motion looks SO MUCH more natural in 50+fps.
Why 24fps even still exsists as "a standard" today is a thing that truly puzzles me.
If you look at how much resolution and bitrate has increased over the years, and consider that all displays availible today have at least 60Hz refresh rate it is mindboggling that so much af all the content we get to watch is still a 24fps slide show.
I would go as far as saying that 24>50fps is a much bigger jump in quality for almost all content than 1080p>2160p"4k" is.
(For the "streaming quality 4k" on YT, Netflix and most Adult Sites downloads that is)
Even on YT the difference is day/night
The motion in this is silk smooth in 60fps, and it still is perfectly crispy/sharp on my 4k TV
https://youtu.be/TTDH4PN4TYw
(also note how nice slow-mo of 60fps content still looks)
This 4k slideshow looks awful in comparison:
https://youtu.be/TEcdTXdzVYo
Watched on the 4k TV there might be a littel more detail, but nowhere near enough to justify that awful jittery motion.
On the TV one can solve this by enabling gizmos that calculate the missing frames, but that adds errors/artifact and partly destroys the super crispy/sharp image you can get with 4k.
And the same effect i see when i compare a Tushy/Blacked 4k 23fps scene with a 1080p60 21st Sextury, or 50fps 4k scene from Holed or LP.
While everything else (camera work, editing, light, makeup, location and so on) is usually superior in the Blacked/Tushy videos, that stupid 23fps stutter makes me mad.
Games have been mentioned.
Everyone that ever gamed in 60+ and 30- fps on a console or PC knows what is much, much better, how one can think that for some reason in a "MOTION picture" aka Film/movie 24fps would be superior to 50+ fps is one of those things i will never understand.
And if a director really wants that jittery motion look "because of art/reasonz" it is still possible to just make always 2 or 3 frames of a 48-50-60-whatever fps movie identical before going to the next frame, in post prod to achieve that effect i think.
IMHO the best way to create and distribute high quality content today is:
Film in 4k@50/60fps.
Edit/Cut lossless what you get out of the camera.
Render it to 1080p60@14+Mbit for download on regular sites, and 4k/50-60fps@35Mbit for premium sites.
Watch it on a 4k TV.
TV's are quite good at upscaling high quality 1080p to 4k, HD Blurays look stunning on 4k TV's, as said before they are not quite so good in calculating all those missing frames (from 24 to 60).

Camera technology ain't my strongest asset, never was, but boy was I disappointed with New Sensation some years ago. They had this shitty lightning all the time, while the BTS had a fun old good roll going. Never able to forgive that, so many wasted DVDs, full of limping dicks, and so many lame BTS's full of un-interestinjg Q & A's, while the camera in BTS captured everything fine, scenes went on like a tragic failure, still in power to drive me depressed.

I hate this color palette manipulation too. As a RealityKings member, I see it across all their videos and is most noticable in skin tones where an actresses with naturally very pale white skin suddenly have an overly saturated orange hue. It looks even worse on ebony skin having a saturated unnatural green tinge.
It's impossible to get the colors to look right in real-time in media players color/hue settings. I wonder if there is a way the video can be corrected in a program like Adobe After Effects? I suppose it would mean re-encoding though.

This thread is still super relevant. I've seen a lot of discussions about Gemini man, shooted at 120fps.
Some don't like high refresh rate in mainstream movies, but being porn about action (often fast action) I think that high refresh rate should be used much more than now. I would definitely prefer a full hd or a 720p scene with a high framerate than a 4k made with regular 24 fps.

^ Are you conflating frame rate with refresh rate? They're absolutely not the same thing. You can have a 120fps video but if your monitor has a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz, the higher frame rate of the video will be capped by your monitor's refresh rate limitations.

It'll be interesting to find out what the refresh rate market shares are for porn viewers to see how many people can truly appreciate 120fps video.

^ I don't think he is confusing frame with refresh rate.
That Gemini Man truly has 120 fps, and the projectors in theatres also show it as such (where marketed as 3D+ - for a premium fee).

I know that.
But a lot of modern monitors (especially gaming monitors) have refresh rates of 75hz (and it's possible to find that on extremely cheap monitors... I'm talking of 80 dollars monitors) , 100hz, 144hz, 240hz (and in some recent laptop even 300hz).
Besides that, I suspect that the vast majority of porn is made with a frame rate way lower than 60hz.
Considering that porn is about fast action (that means a lot of blurry pixels with a slow frame rate) I think a the vast majority would see the difference.

The type of porn that benefits the most from a higher framerate is the kind of porn where you have "blink-and-ull-miss-it" feats/performances, where a high framerate would allow you to see something that wouldn't be visible at a lower framerate (or lower resolution).

I'm talking about solo videos of a chick who doesn't do nudity, where if you slowdown/freezeframe you can catch a nip/pussy/butthole slip. Or party/group/orgy videos where you only get half a dozen frames of a given extra or dickdodging G/G pornstar sucking some dick (and 360-type VR could work well for this as well).

HFR is nowhere near as important to gonzo where everything is already shot with the purpose of making the action visibly explicit for the viewer at any framerate and any resolution.

I think that gonzo could be the genre that most needs high frame rate, because there are a lot of... well, very fast movements.

Yes, I'm aware of Gemini man and the playback of capable projectors. I don't recall saying otherwise.

You've completely misunderstood what I was alluding to. I was talking about people being able to appreciate the frame rate by virtue of the monitor being capable of playing it back.

You're deeply mistaken if you think I'm not familiar with high frame rate production or playback.

24 fps for cinematic narrative story telling, low light
60 fps for sports, live news, soap operas, gonzo porn
30 fps for cable TV porn, DVD

most porn directors shoot in 30 fps

some use cameras with very small sensors so shooting 60fps would mean opening up the iris and other things to get decent PQ
You need a camera with (3) 1/3 inch sensors at minimum. Above that is single sensor APS-C, S-35 & Full Frame cameras which are expensive and aren't in a camcorder form factor. The lower end ones can't shoot 1080p60 but will do it in 720.

here is proof frame rate doesn't affect quality, this video is 60fps but could be shot or slowed down to 24fps and it would still look nice.

I much prefer higher frame rates and would be happy to throw that elderly "cinematic" rate out the window.

In any case, I see higher frame rate porn more and more. I wonder if VR is driving that in part, even for movies or studios that aren't VR. Higher frame rates are preferred in VR settings, so the 'ecosystem' of cameras and playback equipment is respectively expanding.

Here's a compromise. Directors shoot in 48fps. Stream 48fps in browser and/or offer 48fps download while offering 24fps version on Blu-ray or DVD. Everybody wins, the HFR lovers and the cinema purists.
