No one's asking people who are struggling in the current economy to give to Haiti. The exraordinary thing about Americans is that is EXACTLY what many of them are doing. I sympathize with Aryana's original post -- but as TUP said last year, a lot of performers are just getting by these days. I don't think anyone's ignoring Haiti, it's just that there is so much need everywhere you look. And Haiti is a special problem -- that is a country with deep-rooted problems that needs to be remade from the ground up. Unfortunately a lot of that ground is in dispute, so no one can even start building real homes for them.  [Link] |
