It's not wrong to say that we need to 'look after our own' first, whether it's our own family our those in need in our country or ourselves.
But it certainly isn't wrong either to help others in extraordinary need whenever we can.
No one's asking people who are struggling in the current economy to give to Haiti. The exraordinary thing about Americans is that is EXACTLY what many of them are doing.
And those who think them foolish are themselves fools. Sometimes, especially when things are bad and worrisome, helping others, feeling good that you have done so, is worth even going hungry.

From what I have been told the industry is planning a fund raiser for Haiti to occur in March at a still to be named gentleman's club in Los Angeles. Details are few and far between but it will be for fans as well.
The industry did something like this afer 9/11 and all the money was donated to the Red Cross. No one took a cut and everyone donated their time and effort.
Keep looking for more info....

I see a pay-per-view type of thing where you make donations based on what actions you want to see.

Salud!
I sympathize with Aryana's original post -- but as TUP said last year, a lot of performers are just getting by these days. I don't think anyone's ignoring Haiti, it's just that there is so much need everywhere you look.
And Haiti is a special problem -- that is a country with deep-rooted problems that needs to be remade from the ground up. Unfortunately a lot of that ground is in dispute, so no one can even start building real homes for them.
