Many people don't like JAV because the governments censorship restrictions force the video makers to pixellate out penises and vaginas. (For some reason, the anus is okay, whether alone or being penetrated by something other than a penis.) I look at that as a half-full rather than half-empty glass, because it gives the video makers a reason or an excuse to focus on something other than the close-up in-and-out shots that American porn seems to have way to much of. So instead of seeing a lot of hairy balls slapping a cute girl's as, we get to see a lot more of the cute girl. While many scenes lack the gynecological viewpoint of U.S. porn, they are actually more erotic. I'm happy with the trade-off.
Among the reasons I like JAV:
) After-market breasts have yet to make a significant impact in JAV.
2) Ditto with tattoos. I think I've seen maybe two JAV stars -- both well below A-list -- with body art.
3) Maybe it's because I'm predisposed to petite women, but the number of women I find attractive is staggering in JAV. By and large, JAV actresses range from cute to stunning.
4) Japanese directors emphasize the woman. By and large, you don't see those annoying shots of a guy screwing his face up as he pretends to cum for the camera, you won't see parolees leering into and mugging for the camera, and, in fact, you won't see much of the guys at all. Too many porn-stars-turned-directors in the U.S. these days seem to think that porn is about them. It's not.
5) When you see a JAV actress on the boxcover, she's in the video. That doesn't always happen in the U.S.
6) An American video usually has only one or two actresses that I'm interested in seeing, and if either or both are involved in a g/g scene, the number of scenes I wind up actually watching in the video drops accordingly. A JAV usually has only one actress in it, she's in every scene, and, if it's not a lesbian-themed video, every scene will almost certainly be heterosexual. So instead of 20 minutes with the girl you bought or rented the video to see, you have an hour and a half.
7) I find a certain air about almost all JAV actresses that many American porn starlets lack. It's a combination of clothing, jewelry, makeup (or lack of it) and mannerisms. Most American stars don't exude any elegance or class; in fact, many seem to revel in their trashiness, while JAV actresses seem somehow to maintain their femininity and innocence. There seems to be nothing that a Japanese 18-year-old will not do. And no matter how depraved it is, the girl will still look innocent and cute. You can't beat that.
8) Maria Ozawa, Akira Watase, Ran Asakawa, Akiho Yoshizawa, Yuria Sendo, Eri Ito, Miori Hoshi, Erika Sato, Natsuki Sugisaki ... I could spend all day at this.
9) In many JAV scenes, you'll find the girl looking like she's genuinely interested in pleasing the guy, like she's really happy to be bringing pleasure to someone else -- at least shen she's sucking dick and licking ass. American porn actresses are frequently much more workmanlike in their approach. The flipside of that is that most American girls look a lot more like they enjoy the fucking part.
10) Last but not least, the titles are often freakin' hilarious. Take these, for example:
