I urge anyone who likes Indian girls to check out Kiara Mia. She is incredibly beautiful and you should check out her hot scene with Kristina Rose where she dominates her. I hope she becomes a star like Priya Rai.
But Priya Rai retired? Say it aint so..

Kiara is hispanic and I hope you have not been misled into believing she is east indian. 90% of east indian porn is fake and made up of latina actresses.
> why are indian girls so rare in porn
Because they have the worst repressive sexual culture (even worse than the Arabs, who do have a good time sometimes). I have read somewhere that even the high profile filmstars, actresses and models over there stay with their parents, and have their marriages and private lives arranged by them.

So you're basicely saying that they can't be hot if they're Indian. Get over yourself. Anybody can fantasize that Kiara is Indian and fap away.

Wasn't what I "took" from what Shank said. I think he basically meant Indian culture discourages it. I find Indian women (generally) among the hottest on the planet myself.
Porn has a pretty bad history with using fake ethnicities to mislead fans. If a woman has darker features, some will use it to mislead. I remember Cherokee joking to a director about what ethnicity she was supposed to be today.

yes , i was not talking about "latinas" , native americans , i meant indian girls - bollywood girls .
But i am still surprised to see that in the year 2011 , indian people still dont want to form part of the western culture !!
lately i was amazed to see that the actress from "slumdog millionaire" did a sex scene in a hollywood movie !!
indian people are extremely conservative and sometimes hypocrite !!

I've seen 'porn forums' with a category called "Desi' which shows Indian looking people. But the videos and the girls are not so glamorous as your Priya Rai photo. Perhaps you should expand your search parameters beyond mainstream American porn if you want to see non-American performers.

Most of the indian performers seem to come from UK -- Anjali Kara,
India Babe, Leah Jaye, and Destiny Deville.
There has not been many US indian performers but the few I remember
were pretty good -- Priya Rai, Jasmin St Claire, and Kassi Nova.

Sahara Knite was hot for about a minute. It's the same old thing, anything remotely to do with dark skin and you can forget about it.The porn industry want white skin and blue eyes.If there's a token scene where they need a minority then you might get some work,or if they need a scene where a white might be degraded then they'll hire a minority.

Well, it doesn't seem to matter where someone is from. If they do American porn, they end up having a generic American appearance and wearing the typical porn attire.
I also think one problem might be that skin colors other than white and black are harder to light and shoot properly. A skin color that is somewhere in between the two extremes often comes out looking strange. Even white girls with a tan sometimes appear light green instead of tanned. When it comes to someone who can barely point the camera in the right direction, expecting them to get the lighting just right is probably just too much.

Aww what happened? Some Indian girl/guy you pine after won't give you the time of day? I am Indian and have been with a couple of Indian girls. They were no tighter than any other ethnicity of women I have been with nor do I have a pencil dick.
Back to the original question. Indians don't really make up much of the population in the US. Less than 1%. Of those the amount that are young and attractive enough to be in porn is probably even smaller. We are growing fast though, 69% increase in the last 10 years according tho the last census. So just give it a little time haha.

I think its their repressed, male dominated society that is the reason for the lack of Indian porn.
There are even less Arab girls!
Yet one of the most beautiful girls I ever saw was from Beirut, she was a stripper in London.

Nothing to do with it. Strictly comes down to the fact that if found out, the girl generally has a fuck-load of repressed wrong to deal with. It takes a brave girl of this ethnicity indeed, to do porn.
There'd definitely be a willing market for any more that did.

Maybe and maybe not but you can't tell me you haven't noticed they can't seem to consistently get skin colors right in porn. This is a big deal to someone like me because the precise appearance of the performer's skin has a lot to do with what turns me on. If I notice that the color is off more often than not, I'm going to steer clear of it even though I love Indian girls. This might lead them to believe that it's the fact that they're Indian that is causing lower sales rather than a matter of quality.
Though you undoubtedly are right about the oppression in their culture, that may not be the only factor. If there's a will, there's always a way. Indian women are some of the most beautiful women in the world. I don't think many porn customers would have any complaints about having more of them in porn. So you're right there too. To a point. But it would be pointless to have more of them if they can't get the lighting and color right.

Sweet Jesus, the amount of lazy stereotypes that are being tossed around here is remarkable. The Kama Sutra originates in India, may I remind you. I know this is like asking vampires to eat garlic but if you peruse any tube site you'll find thousands of videos of Indian women showing no signs of "repression" whilst being sexed in all manner of ways.

I think it's a case where you'd care more about on-screen colour fidelity than most. Rocco's vids for example, tended to look hideous, but they were popular as fuck. Technology improves, some of the HD content of the last few years, looks lush in relation to all kinds of skin tone. If this were a genuine factor in the case of American porn, it's not like Sunny Leone, Leah Jaye or Priya Rai were ever really hard up for castings. From what I've read, the only thing that held Priya back, was Priya herself.
Over here in the U.K., Killergram cast Asian girls (what we tend to call "Asian" - opposed to Americans who use the term to refer to Oriental people) whenever they can. If skin tone was such a problem to get right in relation to Indian/Asian girls, shouldn't this also apply to mixed-race/lighter skinned black girls or latinas? There's no lack of porn output to serve those needs.
Trust me, I'm sure that Devil's Film would've much rather have filled their moronic 'Tight Indian Pussy' vids with GENUINE A-list girls of this ethnicity, opposed to a bunch of well-known latinas hiding behind sarees and pseudonyms. It's just that there aren't enough girls to meet the demand for a full series like that (and people saw through that bullshit anyway). It's a niche/fetish that would go a long way, if there were enough willing/brave participants.

Seriously it is pretty ridiculous that people think women not doing porn is due to some kind of repression. Like there are all these Indian women just pining to get into porn if the overbearing men would just step out of the way. I agree that many of the more poorer, rural places in India tend to be pretty patriarchal, even brutally so in the worst cases. The same thing can't necessarily be said about the big cities. In the US most the Indian women I know are very successful professional women: lawyers, doctors, science, business owners, finance etc. I mean if we want to talk about misogyny what about the attitude that some have here that if these women don't do porn it cannot be out of these womens' free will. Like they went to 8 years of college and med school because they couldn't follow their heart's true calling. Believe it or not the amount of porn stars an ethnicity produces is not directly proportional to the their belief in equal gender rights.

I ask you this: If you happen to be from a particularly religious background (ANY of the leading world religions), which profession do you think you would have more of a problem with when it comes to your family finding out you did for a living? a) A doctor, or b) A porn star?

I think you'll find that even non-religious parents might have a problem with their kids doing porn. As to the level of fame of some of the aforementioned Indian sex performers I wouldn't know, but India is a whole world-within-a-world and has all manner of cultural tangents so to refer to some monolithic,"repressive" culture is rather simplistic.

Agreed, but I asked that specifically towards phenemol's point about "success" and Indian women. Also, in non-secular households, whilst it may not be approved of in most circumstances, there's a much higher chance of there being less riding on it if found out.
Attitudes towards sex are generally based on religious ideas of morality. Doing something countering it, causes conflict. We KNOW this. Attitudes (and the general "moral" landscape) in the west, differ greatly from those in parts of the east/Asia. There's inherent conflict when attempting to traverse differing cultures (especially those who may be second or even first generation citizens of any given country).
No doubt, any topic or comment on this entire board is simplistic. Distilling any notion when talking about literally millions of people is going to have some degree of simplification or generalisation to it, but consider this: Hollywood is famously known for two highly successful kinds of film industries, Mainstream and Porn. In India there's a direct, highly lucrative and successful analogue to Hollywood, generally referred to as "Bollywood", producing stacks of inclusive, family-orientated musicals (as per cultural tastes dictate). There is no direct equivalent for porn, even when it's considered that people like sex everywhere. There is no such thing as a genuine "Bollywood porn star" (I bold "star" in reference to someone famous). No eastern Jenna Jameson. Why would you say this was?
There are billions of people in the world, a lot of them have some form of recording equipment. The odd, unknown Indian-looking girl doing something a bit rude in front of a camera does not an industry make.

Well said. and as for an Indian Jenna Jameson,as far as I know, there is a thriving softcore sex-film industry in India, with some women who are stars based on the "name" recognition that they get on tube sites.I'm half-Asian myself so I don't particularly find it all that "exotic."
Keep in mind Britain didn't legalise hardcore until 11 years ago but that doesn't mean the culture was any more repressive of women than other Western countries. There seems to be this notion that anywhere South or East of Israel is inherently backward or repressive and alien despite the wide availability of Western mass-media. The East has a long history of sensual culture that some of you may benefit from exploring, perhaps?

Well, one begats another. Those choices are the same for anybody. If one comes from a culture where porn is morally, DEEPLY frowned upon, you yourself may follow suit. Doesn't at all change the fact that there is a deep disapproval running through the cultural bloodlines.
And there, we get to the point, that if a girl from this ethnic background WANTED to pursue this career of doing porn, she'd have a lot more external disapproving pressure stemming from an ingrained "moral"/religious mindset.
Well, same here. I'm not denying that, but there are many career paths open to EVERYONE, yet some people still choose porn because they want to.
It's a choice thing. Nina Hartley for example, is a highly intellectual speaker, author, educator and qualified nurse. At this stage, she is free to choose a "respectable" career path, yet she still does porn to this day because it's something she chooses to do and is liberated for it. Answerable to no one but her self.
To enter porn is an option open for everyone (in some form at least). What one has to weigh up is what there is to gain, and (far more tellingly) what there is to lose. Endless, secondary peer strife is definitely a negative factor to consider. To be free of these ties, would make entering porn a far more relaxed option.
More like "morally bankrupt", "decadent" and "deeply unwholesome". Not really aspects of repression.
Well, that's the general anti-porn argument made by anybody who doesn't approve. Is it right, you ask? No... but I can see why from their viewpoint they would possibly think that. A generalised belief belonging to a large enough group (right or wrong) is still valid, when speaking about trends. After all, what is a trend if not a generalised cultural pattern? Ethno-centric viewpoints as a whole, should be understood otherwise how would one learn about general customs or ways to behave in a foreign country when traveling, for example?
Anyway, regardless of all this... whether or not I'm lowering myself to the "crudest stereotypes" (in your words), there's still the overall question that all of this was an attempt to answer: the OP's original query, "Why [are] Indian Girls So Rare in Porn??"...
For whatever reason, it still stands that there are hundreds upon hundreds of well-known girls of white, black, latin and oriental backgrounds to do porn that you can name, yet girls of an Indian/related origin are so rare in this line of work, I doubt you could name more then 10-15 at max. Religions exist everywhere, but that factor still stands.
I spoke about career options - options available for everyone to pursue. WHY with equal opportunities for all, are there undeniably so few well-known Indian porn stars? Could you give me a direct answer that is both 100% truthful and honest AND 100% politically correct?
With people, there are reasons for EVERYTHING. It's a potentially contentious issue when talking about cultural attitudes, beliefs and customs. Sometimes it can get uncomfortable, but that's the way societies are sometimes. It's dishonest to pretend these factors straight-out don't exist.

I'm from Britain myself. The repression here is a mind one, equally stemming from puritanical, outdated "values", and an inherent desire to control and monitor. This is a Big Brother nation if ever there was one in the world today.
Repression rears its head in many forms, but we're talking about one aspect here, and that's the question raised by the OP. These are tangents.

Okay, examples then pulled out of my arsehole:
Shilpa Shetty, Bollywood film star arrested for "obscenity" charges at Mumbai Airport for publicly kissing Richard Gere. Want more on it? Here's the BBC follow-up.
That's KISSING remember. What would've happened had she fucked him?
Aylar Lie, Norwegian citizen (but Iranian-born) current pop singer and former porn actress, received death threats, and forced never to return to Iran in fear of her life.
Why include a Muslim girl in these links? Because in terms of porn, the look that is desired but not ably catered for is the general Asian/arabic look encompassing Hindu, Sikh and Muslim girls. A number of the famous porn star names mentioned on this thread (and other similar topics) ARE Muslim.
I say again, these girls are brave to go into porn.

You are again equating cultural standards with repression. I don't doubt that cultural factors play a role. What I doubt is that it is a the primary one or even one of repression.
Here is a quick definition of repress
1. to keep under control, check, or suppress (desires, feelings, actions, tears, etc.).
2. to keep down or suppress (anything objectionable).
3. to put down or quell (sedition, disorder, etc.).
For it to be repression it isn't enough for it to be something that is generally shunned or frowned upon but rather something that must be actively controlled. Not doing porn because your family might not like it is not repression. That is one factor among many that is weighed when adults make any kind of important decision, concerning adult careers or otherwise. If a women feels whatever she would gain from a career in porn is not worth endangering her family relationship well that is for her to decide. Adults make compromises everyday. For repression there should be some kind force keeping down all the masses of Indian women who want to be in adult films and can't. I agree it is very brave to make films under the threat of death and it is a horrible shame and this is real repression, but you are giving one example (from a country that is nothing like India BTW) and assuming all other women of this ethnicity (excuse me general skin color) must face the same potential violence. That is painting with a pretty broad brush.
The OP also did not ask about repression he asked if they were too conservative that's a big difference. Other posters including you have made the claim that it is due to some kind of repression.
As for why there aren't more Indian pornstars I can only speculate but here are a couple of my speculations. In India many of the women who are engaged in sex work are very poor. I don't know if they have the equipment to create films. I imagine this is true of many developing nations. I may be wrong but I don't know if you can name too many porn stars that are in films produced in PRC or on the African continent but I sure can't. Additionally here more than anywhere I would agree that cultural norms, not repression, play a larger role than say the US or UK. Still though there is as another poster posted a Indian soft-core industry with stars and such.
As for the US I already speculated that it had to do with population and demographics. There are less than 3 million Indians in the US a country with a total pop of over 300 million. Say half of those are female. Then figure out which ones fall between 18-35. then which ones of those are attractive enough and willing to do porn. I don't think you will be left with too many people. We are talking about a small fraction of <1% (% of total pop of US that is Indian) of the total US population.
I can't speak for the UK as I don't know much about it but there was a post from a UK Indian adult star in which she mentioned several other Indian models. Other posters have added more. I agree it is not a huge number but it seems like the UK with an even smaller South Asian population numerically than the US seems to be doing better at producing Indian adult models per capita. I don't know maybe they are less repressed than their US counterparts.
See how that works? I did all of like 3-4 google searches for population statistics and used a little critical thinking. Maybe it is too politically correct for you or whatever. Seeing as how it doesn't conform to your assumption of wholesale repression as being the only factor to consider or at least the major one. Of course these are still just speculations but I seem to think they pass the bullshit sniff test a little better.
Let me just say this though as an Indian guy I agree with the OP. Can we please see more Indian adult models!

So, your understanding of repression is the same as mine. I never said the two distinctions you made above are mutually exclusive. When something is frowned upon, at the very least it's cognitive pressure equating to points 1 & 2 of your definition.
Any further action that may occur within the confines of a family (behind closed doors and such), equates to numbers 2 & 3. Furthermore, external pressure takes form in different ways and different levels of mental (and at times, physical) manifestations. That is obvious.
Also, as I some leg-work and provided links (because I was more or less asked to), did you not read what happened to Shilpa Shetty? How is that not repressive?
Indeed. I'm aware that the cultures are VASTLY different and I was genuinely loathe to go down that route in trying to make a general point.
Trust me, I KNOW India and Iran are nothing alike, and I know Islam is vastly different from religions stemming predominantly from India (aforementioned Sikhism and Hinduism), but that was another example separate from the Shilpa Shetty/Mumbai one - which was made to deal with in regards to specifically India (which incidentally, you didn't address in your response). Nevertheless, traditionalism and conservatism are cultural boundaries that exist, and are at times made exceedingly difficult to transcend should the wish be there.
As far as grouping in terms of skin colour, well... unfortunately this is a porn board. One brown skinned girl doing porn automatically gets lumped in to a general "type" based on skin colour, simply because porn is visual and all we can respond to is visual skin tone. Is it right in that regard? More than likely not, but visual stimulation transcends a stranger's personal belief systems. Porn is essentially, about finding adequate visual stimulation to aid in one's need to whack off. It's just the way it is.
Porn and political correctness aren't comfortable bedfellows - you'd only have to see some of the ludicrously racist (but en-masse accepted titles, especially related to IR). I'll admit, a porn forum is maybe not the most appropriate place to to talk in-depth about cultural heritages, when ultimately the sole aim is to find something to jerk off to. But believe me, I'm striving for some form of objectivity.
As for this statement:
I tried to address that at some length. Please refer back to an earlier post.
That's a problem I'm starting to see here, there's been so much written that points are getting lost in the mix. I don't wish to keep repeating as it becomes a total waste of time, I'll continue onward (for a while anyway).
China or Africa...? China's got a highly repressive governing regime, and some countries in Africa are putting up with terrible plights. So no, I can't either... for obvious reasons.
Brazil on the other hand, is a poor nation - although recently, they've had a sharp uprise, but nevertheless has (and more impotantly had, even in less wealthy times) a successful porn industry. Even if a country's poor, sexual imagery would be got at if allowed.
As far as equipment to create films in India, as I said, Bollywood is massively successful. Porn would be too, if it were deemed more socially acceptable and shown in theatres, in lieu of home viewing (analogous to how it was seen in America in the 1970s, before VHS). Consequently, a full porn industry would be born.
Softcore ain't hardcore. It's human nature to want more; the fact that it allegedly exists means there's an unsatisfied demand for the real deal.
Okay, THANK YOU! This is more like it! A genuine alternative reason for a lack of U.S. porn stars of Indian dissent (opposed to endless bickering about our own ideas on who is repressed and who isn't). This is a good point and one worth making... Praise Whomever! We're getting somewhere!
Just a thought, is the bit I quoted and underlined in bold, sarcasm or a genuine figurative slip of the tongue? Hard to tell.
Well, you're speculating, I'm speculating. The demographics points you made are a solid counterpoint, but I still feel that you choose to ignore the more uncomfortable elements on the points I raised.
That's fair enough, I'm not going to keep hammering at this evermore. I understand if some of the less desirable things I allude to, could possibly be taken in a negative way. If that is the case, I apologise. It is genuinely not my aim to cause offense by stating things that I myself, do not feel wholly comfortable in writing.
I'd further state, that I believe repression exists in some form (to greater or lesser degree), in ALL societies, or wherever there are people who form any kind of overbidding political or ethical belief system. Basically wherever people reside... even in families. Therefore, if it exists, nobody should be immune for criticism on it (and that applies to ALL races and cultures).
Undoubtedly in some circumstances, women are coerced into doing things to get somewhere (the infamous "casting couch" for example). It DOES exist, but by and large in western culture, women have a lot more freedom to pursue careers as they wish, and are in charge of their bodies and actions.
Once again though, with people and sex and money, there are a lot of sleazeballs willing to manipulate and take advantage of. These behaviours are readily seen in most places; shouldn't be denied or forgotten by anyone, anywhere.
This is a HUMAN problem, and doesn't belong to any one society.
YES! 100% agreement there!

Ok man this is my very last reply.
First your two examples.
The Shilpa Shetty one. Frankly I didn't respond because I thought it was a dumb example but this time I will. Shetty was not arrested. A lower court issued a warrant and the supreme court suspended it. There were protests by a bunch of fundamentalist idiots. Ironically it occurred at an event to promote safe sex among truck drivers. I agree that obscenity charges are far too extreme for this but this is no different than some incidents that have occurred in the US. Take for example this
http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/luther-campbell-and-fellow-2livecrew-members-are-arrested-on-obscenity-charges
happened on June 10th oddly enough. I also remember that they arrested record store owners who sold that album and had protests of religious fundamentalists destroying their CDs. Does this mean that any women in the US who doesn't go into porn is a victim of some deep seated repression?
As for the the fact you used an Iranian example. Yes the difference does matter. You are talking about cultural repression and to take someone from another culture and use that as an example of the repression of a separate culture does not fly. No matter what the similarities in skin color are. You are the one who claims the lack of porn actresses is due to repression which is cultural you need to find an appropriate example. You are playing way too fast and loose when it suits your needs and then justifying after the fact.
Really though when it comes down to it I am not arguing with you about what you think. What I find objectionable is the incredible arrogance of your posts. When it is called out you claim some kind of distanced objectivity.
You response to my demographic argument is telling. I made that argument in a post earlier in the thread. I am sure you didn't read it because from what I can tell you came into this thread and found the first post that disagreed with your preconceived assumption, random_precisions speculation on lighting difficulties, and responded with this.
"Nothing to do with it. Strictly comes down to the fact that if found out, the girl generally has a fuck-load of repressed wrong to deal with. It takes a brave girl of this ethnicity indeed, to do porn.
There'd definitely be a willing market for any more that did."
This is not a speculation this a statement of fact that you then backed up with some of the lamest examples yet. Additionally I and another poster who are Indian said hey I think there may be other issues at hand while conceding the conservative nature of Indian culture. Your response is to then start acting as though you were just making reasonable speculations from a position of objectivity and then somehow say we are just being too sensitive because it is hitting too close to home.
How incredibly condescending.
You seriously speak of objectivity? Let us take your example of the comparison between Brazil and India. You mention that Brazil is a poor country and India is a poor country yet one has a porn industry the other does not. Good point. If you were being objective you would spend some time gathering data as to why this might be the point. Instead you claim this points to your initial assumption that has somehow been decided as the default position. This is the exact opposite of objectivity. Instead of doing the research an objective opinion would require you lazily validate your pre-conceptions with unanswered questions.
Additionally your so called objectivity is plainly not in effect when comparing an example from western culture to one from Indian culture. With Indian culture all leeway is given to show how even the slightest hint of a cultural attitude is a manifestation of "mental" repression. On the other hand when it comes to Western culture you speak of casting couches and the actions of sleazeballs. You make no room for the subtleties of power that you do with Indian culture.
For example the fact that many women in Western Cultures need to often act non-threatening in order to get ahead in the workplace. That in many cases women who are too assertive or do not find the proper balance in playing off their sexuality will be dismissed by men in a professional setting. Women have to constantly navigate what they would like to do while making sure not to damage a man's fragile ego. Did you know that Jessica Simpson is a rather smart girl. She plays up the dumb blond act so men will not have to worry that a women they find attractive might be smarter than them. All this and women still get payed less for doing the same job that men do. This in your eyes is not repression though because there was no casting couch and these women could easily make a fortune taking off their clothes and having sex in front of a camera.
If that wasn't enough you act as though poster such as David-cop-a-feel and I are incapable of seeing the objective truth that you can. This due to our oversensitivity and lack of objective insight no doubt. Here is a little bit of knowledge. You know all those Indian cultural attitudes you speak about. Some people actually experienced them first hand. Had to navigate them within their own lives and was able to compare the experiences they had within that culture with the experiences they had within a larger culture. This might give them a little insight into those differences and their influences. It makes you look arrogant and frankly pretty stupid when you discount them out of hand as being obviously not as objective as your assumption that you garnered from I don't know where.
Finally extending the idea that people different from you are probably just as complicated as you are is not called "politically correct" it is just correct.
That's it I will not post anymore on the subject. I would not be surprised if your response is full of more deflections. Either way you get the last word.

^Yeah, that's all good. You made your points very well, whilst accurately calling me out as to what a arrogant, condescending cunt I am (which I'm aware of - as I'm sure you can imagine, you're not the first person who's noticed that about me). As for my objectivity? Well, the intent was there, but with such an unjustified, ludicrously inflated ego such as mine, it's bound to get a little compromised at times.
And so here it is... my reply. I don't have any conscious plans to deflect - but if my answers come across that way, then so be it. At least I tried to engage with you on this issue (which I notice I was alone in doing, as I was not the only poster who responded on this initially), and regardless of what you personally think of me, at least I was willing to stand up, potentially exposing any ugly prejudices I may or may not have, and discuss the matter with ideas that rightly or wrongly, I am not alone in having. It's out there and it's for others to judge (I'm sure you've made up your mind on that matter, anyway). It's one of these topics on here, that one is fairly aware that they're in for more trouble than it's worth as soon as soon as they hit "Reply". But, fuck it... "Reply" is what I hit, so that's that.
Just a one or two points (more on the celebrity-based examples than anything else), before putting this fucking thing to bed (having said that though, feel free to come back at this if you wish - I know you said that your last reply was to be your last on the subject, which I can appreciate as it's quite long and draining I'd imagine for both of us... I don't mind some form of continuation provided that we're not for all intents and purposes, repeating ourselves too much, and the conversation moves forward... up to you). Anyway...
About the Shipa Shetty thing: Multiple reports at the time that are currently online, specifically said she was arrested. The Daily Mail here said that she was "interrogated" and held at the airport, which to me, sounds pretty much the same as an arrest without charge. Regardless of the mix-up over whether she was legally allowed to leave the country, she was still being held also on potential obscenity charges for no more than a kiss.
If that initial, spur-of-the-moment example I used is "dumb" in your opinion, then okay. I think it's as valid as anything externally used here to back up a point, but it's up to you on how you wish to take it.
As far as comparing to to the 2LiveCrew case, well, they caused a lot of OTT controversy at the time (oddly yes, almost 21 years ago to the exact day), but by today's standards their stuff is pretty tame, so would it happen now? Not sure. Ridiculous? Yes, absolutely. Parts of the U.S. are definitely more fundamentalist than others. Never denied that.
Following on...
Some are. Depends if they particularly wanted to go into it, but may hail from particular states that would make that harder (the whole 'Bible Belt' for instance). I don't see that as being in any particular way, any different. As I said a few times, it's about choice and if that choice is being hampered in some way.
If you choose to answer, I ask you this (which isn't snark - I genuinely do not know, and would be interested): As an Indian, are you aware of a part of India considered less conservative in general (kinda like how in America, California is considered less conservative, than Alabama is, for example)?
Going back to the celebrity example thing (chatting about it for the sake of it, really): In regards to Jessica Simpson acting dumb as to not intimidate men who worry that she may be smarter than them... Well, as far as I'm concerned, Jessica Simpson is as culturally significant and as important to me as an amoeba. She didn't have to go down that route - if she had an ounce of personal integrity, she would have tried to formulate a career based on talent, but in-light of a lack of said talent, she develops a persona that becomes her schtick in order to become rich, very rich. Definition of a sellout.
Not all female singers go down that route; you won't find Kate Bush, PJ Harvey or Jarboe selling themselves out like that. They earn a more modest living as singers, but are attractive, never attempt to hide their intelligence, highly respected, keep their integrity AND make great music.
If Jessica Simpson is as intelligent as you say she is, then it would have had to have been her descision on what was needed to get that far (if she was being coerced into it, she can't be that clever, as being coerced and manipulated is a naive act). Her 'dumb blonde' act, is one created to enable and manipulate a career based on getting a whole heap of money off the back of little-to-no talent in a music industry she's alleged to contribute to. Even Lady GaGa, with all her image antics, Madonna-aping and the like, doesn't try to hide her intelligence, and in Pop music, I don't think there's anyone bigger right now. Once again, Jessica's choice to come across as an idiot. No one else's. Her personal responsibility.
That's it really. As you correctly pointed out, I did miss your earlier post on the thread in regards to demographics... I thought I saw all that was posted, but obviously I didn't. Therefore, sorry for missing it when you first brought it up.
So if that's the last word on this, then so be it. I've found it stimulating but quite hard-going. I'm off to post an answer in something lighter and less controversial like the " Last Thing You Drank?" thread.
[SPOILER ALERT: it's tea.]
Later.

I can say with absolute authority that Priya Rai has not retired nore does she have any plans to quit in the near future. I'm in touch with her on Twitter on a day to day basis and I can say that retirement is nowhere on her horizon.
166856_158606877523453_100001224263772_346661_2775344_n.jpgPriya Rai is these days known as Priya Anjali Rai and is very much active in the porn industry. She has slogged her butt off and reached where she is today. She is actually an Indian icon and an inspiration for not just Indian xxx artistes to invade the global market but is also proving that indeed India was the land of the Kamasutra.

However the real brand ambassadors of Indian porn in the global market were Anjali Devi but alas she passed away most suddenly leaving a vacuum that was filled many years later by ANJU LEE KAPOOR who transformed into ANJALI KARA the head honcho of Killergram. Her contribution to Indian porn extending across entire Asia is tremendous. Not only in front of the camera as a performer bu even promoting Asian talent across the globe Anjali is a true crusader for Asian pornstars on the global platform.
It is no surprise then that Killergram boasts of maximum Indian and Asian pornstars in it's stable than even the best chain of porn labels across the globe.
