^ My point exactly. The acting rarely if ever carries over into the sex.

That's why I'm drawn to sites that go for realism, or as much realism as possible.FTVGirls, certain types of casting. Those scenes are structured but decidedly non-acted.

Perversely, this is part of why people look for 'painal' type scenes, or unintentional mishaps. Reactions and dialogue in those brief moments are realistic instead of badly acted.

I disagree strongly that most porn performers can't act. The thing you need to do to get acting into a scene aren't affordable in porn. A Juliard trained actor would look like bad acting in a typical porn scene given circumstances.

I'm tired of porn people trying to do writing and acting, to be honest.

You can't find a normal human reaction in any porn these days because they are all acting like extremely half-witted "characters".

You can't even buy videos of people acting normally while having sex in GG content because the stupid has so overwhelmingly taken over.

^ I get where you're coming from and am also active in the gg thread. There are shining moments from established production teams, but I think this is one area where certain indie/OF based performers are getting things right, or starting to.

I also wouldn't want to discount performers (and production) who do fantastic work in parodies or other types of setups. They're often putting their heart into it (and having fun), and it shows, including the sex scenes. It's simply just not the style under discussion here.

I think there's room for more realism in porn. But is porn alone in that? I mean, it seems we live in a world that emphasises non-realism. Every other Hollywood movie seems to be about comic book characters. AI art. AI generated actor voices. News media spin. Etc etc. The zeitgeist is working against us.

I was very, very, very, very slightly hyperbolic, as videos with people having normal reactions in the sex and situations do exist, but that shit is painstaking to find. Most of the time the performers are acting extremely dumb and the content suffers.

One thing I hate about modern porn is how directors/editors/companies seem really hesitant to include those bits of realistic smaller reactions and dialogue you mention. Like I was watching the new Nikki Benz scene on Naughty America, where she's playing a MILF seducing her son's friend, and when she mounts the guy, a relatively new performer called Lawson Jones, for reverse cowgirl you can tell for a few seconds that he might be a little overwhelmed (and understandably so). You even hear Nikki ask him "you good?" for a brief moment. Yet instead of lingering on that moment and maybe getting something extra out of it, like a small pause or a natural interaction, the scene instead immediately cuts to another reverse cowgirl take, this time in close-up, which is obviously after the guy has somewhat found his cool.

So, the setup of the scene is that a smoking hot pornstar MILF seduces a younger, less experienced guy and gives him the time of his life. Within this basic context, it would make perfect sense for him to struggle here and there. I think a lot of guys watching such a scenario would actually welcome that, because maybe they could then closer identify with him or at least with being in this situation with a woman who's sexually out of his/their league. And you'd also have some payoff in seeing him ultimately persevere through his struggles by giving the MILF a good time too. But no, these days all scenes apparently have to, as Draxxx put it, "revert to doing a typical generic porn scene" all throughout the sex. Even when spontaneous moments of realism, or of slight struggle or hesitation, would actually fit in perfectly with the overall theme of the scene. I get that it's all a fantasy and that porn as a product is about seeing people have sex while seemingly looking better at it than everyone else, but I also think that the paying audience is well aware that it's real people in front of the camera and that sometimes a bit more realism can actually improve upon a scene rather than weaken it.

I don't think most people want "realistic" porn and I don't think people want "realism" in their big budget Hollywood movies. Why? Because in most cases "real" isn't exciting. If someone were to turn a camera on and shoot the average couple having sex, you'd end up with some fairly boring stuff. That's why so many hardcore porn watchers don't like the celebrity sex tapes that used to come out. Those celebs more often than not were having normal typical sex. No crazy over the top pounding with constantly switching weird positions that goes on forever. No real police chase, gunfight, or fist fight looks as cool or gritty as it does in the movies. Real wrestling isn't anywhere exciting as the fake WWF stuff. It all about making entertaining content. Everyone draws a different line in the sand as to when they think it goes too far.

Writing and acting can't go away in porn because there's still an audience that likes a set up or scenario or story to explain why the sex is happening. While I don't hate the acting in porn anywhere near as much as some here, you have to stop any realize that in most porn story driven scenes the situations are silly and over the top. The kind of conversation that happens where two strangers meet and 5 minutes later are having sex isn't a normal thing. The directors and performers in porn aren't concerned with the acting portion of the scene as much as they are with the sex portion of the scene. And considering the people writing the dialogue, giving the performances, and directing the scenes in the amount of time they have to work with I would much rather they all make the sex the priority.

Yeah, I really don't think the porn parody sex in a BIG BANG THEORY parody should look/be the same as the sex in a DEADPOOL porn parody. I think in a porn parody the main reason to watch one is to see those characters having sex or doing things you wouldn't see them do in their movies/tv shows. Having the acting, stories, and performances look just like the original just to suddenly insert a sex scene (usually out of nowhere) that looks like a typical porn sex scene doesn't make much sense to me.

I found a 5 year old parody, a porn video. The scene was not funny and the acting in this movie was not good. 2 girls, 2 men, 1 of the girls were Cherie DeVille, they all got a few lines, a bit conversation. Only Cherie was good, the other girl (a big name) was poor, nearly lousy, I would say no talent to act. But they just are no actors, they are porn performers in the first line, if some of those can act too, it is great, but most of those have zero talent to be honest, IMHO. On the other hand I watched o soft porn version 2 years ago of a movie with Whitney Wright and Michael Vegas, a lot of plot and I was really surprised about their great acting, never expected. Also I watched once a little video on YouTube with Britney Amber, pretending someone of the US TV, I did not know, but the cosplaying in that case was really funny and good. So it depends and surely the movies of Erika Lust are something differernt. Especially the ones where Casey Calvert is directing. Not bad in acting.
