I guess what I mean is that truly skin colour rather then nationality is a better way to describe a person. And at this point the idea of composite nationalities ("african-american") are largely meaningless.
Unless you know what a person actually identifies as, it's best not to assume.

But what's wrong with simply asking...? I met a beautiful man last night that has a tan/ brown complexion - lighter than mine, that might be miscategorized if someone assumed his makeup. I found nothing wrong with inquiring. He happens to be Lebonese and Indian. It opened the door to a conversation about music and culture that we may not have had otherwise.

Exactly. Always just ask, never assume.
Assumptions are generally not polite.
I'm kind of a sucker for a woman who has manners.
EDDIT: Added thoughts.
It's rude to ever assume. Black, White African American, it is rude to assume things that aren't blatantly apparent about a person. I think we are reading on the same page here.

Because interracial sex/relationships have always been taboo throughout history. And that sparks peoples' curiousity and appears more mysterious than same-race sex.

I as a white guy that likes interacial porn. I guess the best way to put it is I don't watch porn to relate to the guys as a fantasy, I do it to watch slutty girls get fucked. There's something hot to me about a black guy, or better yet a couple of black guys, ravaging a blonde who can't get enough cock. That being said I don't think it's necessarily hotter than white on white, or a black girl with a white guy. Name a combination I'm down so long as its hot.

I'd say you are being racist with me now. I never called you or anyone else derogatory names. And as I explained earlier, my word 'colored' has nothing to do with African Americans.
I was talking about people in South-East Asia. These are people with whom I have family ties. And I see no reason why you should feel insulted when I mention and describe my relatives in such general terms.
How would you feel if you were told that you couldn't talk about your relatives freely, just because they are not white? You'd probably say this is racism. Well, that's what I say too in my case. Just because I'm white doesn't mean that I have no right to speak freely and plainly about people who are dear to me.

I think you're confusing Scarlett Johannsen with Charlize Theron, who actually is the only african to win an oscar.

Actually the whole mankind came from Africa and we "whites" are mutants or if you prefere adapted to the lack of strong sunlight in northern latitudes during the Ice Ages, you know we need sunlight to sinthetize E vitamin or so , whereas there's too much in Africa so our skin must defend from it , we had too less of it in Europe so we have to get rid from melanine in order to get as much sunlight as possible to survive, without our modern nutritional abundance in natural condition we "white" as a separate group cannot survive in Africa we need to mixup with local inhabitants then our offspring could have a hope.
White skin and blue eyes (or green or whatever) are minor changes to adapt in different contition and nothing more our only "superiority" if any is our survival ability at our latitudes , but since we don't live in caves anymore it is actually useless or so in our era.

How is it insulting? It's the truth.
Well actually she is the only african to win and acting oscar and the 2nd besides Ted Moore, who won a cinematography oscar in 67. Others like Djimon Hounsou have been nominated but haven't won.

Chinese-American here.
I thought "colored" was just very old fashioned, not out and out derogatory. I know it was used on signs and documents in pre-Civil Rights movement, but that was in preference to n* or negro.
But then I've never known anybody who wasn't a senior citizen to use the term and they didn't seem to mean anything deragatory by it.

Now I've read stuff perhipherally in history where it seems white people were always concerned about others fucking their women.
The "sensual Jew" always wanting to get their hands on white women. Arabs and their harems. Blacks. It is an odd history. I mean, it isn't a constant theme or worry, but throughout millenia it seems to pop up.

ilmatic noted a factor:
See, he isn't white, but he knows some minorities would also look at him and judge him. There is as much issue there as anywhere else.
Well there are death rates and incarceration issues too, if we were to be complete.
As long as we keep our races pure, brother.

+1 of course it does but, to me, it's because it's a celebration of different cultures and complexions merging, not the 'taboo' of 'daddy's little girl fucking the nigger from down the block'.

Neither the death rates or incarceration rates are high enough to account for their continued persistence in dating mostly their own men, much to your chagrin I'm sure.

Taboo throughout history? I guess you have never heard about the slave masters in the American south who were not constrained by any such taboos when it came to forcing their female slave's to have sex with them.

If you keep reading, you'll find that throughout history, many groups, not just whites, have had similar concerns.
Also, since power structures have traditionally been dominated by males, in most cases such groups have norms that say it's all right for their own males to have sex (or concubinage, or mixed marriages) with women from a different group but not the other way around. For example:
In colonial Indonesia (the Netherlands East Indies), European males routinely had Indonesian concubines; not the other way around. If that did happen, it had legal consequences for the woman, who then lost some of her privileges.
Likewise, it has long been and still is common for Chinese men in Indonesia to marry local wives. On the other hand, it is relatively rare for a Chinese woman to date or marry an Indonesian man.
In a Chinese-Indonesian magazine from the colonial period (1920s) I read the same thing; the (male, Chinese) author of that article called it 'biological treason' for a Chinese woman to marry a non-Chinese man.
Muslim men in Europe routinely date white European women and sometimes (though not as frequently) marry them. If a Muslim girl dates a white European man, she risks her life as Muslims from some cultural backgrounds feel compelled to avenge their 'family honour' by killing (or in some cases, physically abusing and/or threatening) the girl, and often her lover as well. Also, Islamic law allows Muslim men to marry non-Muslim women, but not the other way around. In the rare cases where a Muslim woman marries an outsider, he has to become a Muslim first and will henceforth be expected and required to be loyal to the Muslim community.
In sum, until recently, most cultures have tolerated relationships with female outsiders but restricted contacts with male outsiders. This is blatantly obvious in warfare and conquest, where rape of defeated women and slave raiding were routine for much of history in most parts of the world. Conquerors such as Genghis Kahn have spread their genes all over the populations they conquered.
Concerns about the the females of one's ethnic, racial or cultural group being fucked by males of another group are not exclusively a 'white' thing.
However, many non-white groups have measures in place to prevent that from happening, through social pressure, curfews, chaperones, or threats of violence, as well as the threat of being ostracized by their family and/or social group.
Nowadays, it is socially unacceptable for whites to put up similar barriers (at least openly). As a result, similar behaviours are judged differently according to who does it (white women who don't want to date black men are 'racists' or have been 'told not to do so by white men in power'; black women who don't want to date white men are 'showing great loyalty'.

I thought the same. My grandmother used to use the term. As far as I know, she never held any particularly racist views. Of course, she was a product of a time before the civil rights movement.
I never thought "colored" was a particularly offensive term but I haven't ever used it myself and wouldn't feel comfortable using it. It does have a kind of derrogatory ring to it. But then, so does "black". But you have to describe people somehow. I try and use the terms they prefer. It's hard to know without asking or just not saying anything and observing the terms others use and the reactions they get. I think a few times I've used terms that people took offense to. I didn't mean to. I just didn't know they would be offended by it until I said it and somebody freaked. There's a big difference between being intentionally racist and just saying the wrong thing because you didn't know any better.
I think most people these days try to be respectful. However, when someone tells you they don't like being referred to as "colored", if you insist on using that term, I dunno.

Well, I think many white people (particularly those who feel that they're in a position that gives them an opportunity to have a significant influence on how things go) are worried about racial ambiguity. Eventually, there will be no pure black or white or Asian, Middle Eastern or Latino. The great melting pot will eventually create one basic race. Some people don't want that. In a way, it does make sense that people would want to preserve their own distinct race and culture. I don't think that necessarily is strictly a white thing, either. I'm not sure I'd call this racism.
I think it would probably be best for everyone if you really couldn't tell what a person's racial heritage was. But as we've both said in other posts based upon other topics, people will always find something to bicker about. Take away a major source of tension and people will keep looking until they find something else that makes them right and everybody else wrong. Human nature, I guess.
"The "They want our women" thing no doubt began long ago when certain people were concerned about losing racial dominance.
Personally? They're not "my women". If some black dude didn't come along and fuck them, I wouldn't get them anyway. They're nobody's women. If a black guy or a Puerto Rican guy or an Asian guy can reel them in, good for him.

Some confusion here I think
Racism is a cultural behaviour almost unknown in ancient times
In latin there's no word to define an ethnic group except their names which is not an adjective the word barbarus was of greek origin and meant stranger, foreigner, alien and could be used either for gauls in northern Europe or for Arabs nomads in the desert , the Greek also used that word for Persians which were an High leveled civilization
If a Roman had to describe an african he would've said "negro" which was the latin word for black the word lost its "g" in modern Italian and become "nero" wich also means black in Spanish the word remained as it was in modern spanish the word "negro" means black in any case it has no racial meaning it's a color.
All this to say that racism is not a natural behaviour a natural feeling it is an induced one it's cultural.
However to protect or better to avoid or if you prefere to prevent the female members of a human group from any contact or relationship with other groups is a natural instinct to protect the genetics of the same group it is part of survival instinct an extended way to protect female similar to that of an husband preventing his wife from having sex with foreigners , he wants to be sure that his genes will go to their children.
As a group a tribe will do the same to be sure that their offspring if theirs. Any group tend to do the same wether it is cultural or ethnic or religious , in Middle Ages European nobles married exclusively among them.

Except when you focus on age and the 30 and under is attrociously high. These would be the primary dating years. Then there is the long term effect on a person's outlook - if men are like that, why bother dating at all?
But I listed them as additive factors, not individual factors.

They didn't flaunt it. It was known, obviously. Taboo also doesn't mean unknown. Two seperate things. Of course being a slave owner gives the means to indulge in taboo.
Incest is taboo too, but that isn't unknown and you can find references throughout history.
Sure, except I am looking both at persistance and the 80% of the population that makes a market profitable.
I wouldn't say that what you list was taboo in the same way - it is more about keeping the culture 'pure'. Remember that women in those societies move to the family of the husband. The mother often trained daughter-in-laws in household things the way she liked them done, which means cultural immersion. So bringing in women does little harm, while women marry out of the culture, they weaken the whole. Women are sometimes also seen as the carrier of domestic culture.
While the inter-racial mandingo thing seems to be a mostly sexual one.
Does that mean every old-fashioned term becomes offensive? Not arguing here, just trying to find the ground rules.
At first, n* was a debased form of negro and wasn't considered an offensive term unless used to describe a white person. Then negro, Spanish for black, became the accepted term as well as colored. Then people said black.
Now I understand why n* is considered offensive with its history. But why the rest?
But, whatever people want to be refered to.

Not only ancient times, racism seems to be a more recent development. Though several groups thought their culture was better.

I don't think interracial is nearly as popular as it once was. A lot of Same actors/actresses and not enough variety. Its lost its taboo effect and has become really softcore. When this thread was created it was at the height of its popularity. Not the same these days,

I love the contrast but it's certainly isn't about the size difference between the performers. No my love of contrast is purely in regards to the difference in skin color. Give me a black man with a white woman or black woman with a white man and I'm as happy as can be. In fact give me a black woman with a white woman and I'm just as happy.

I might have agreed with you if you had written this a couple of years ago because while it's true that there are a lot less interracial porn producing studios. It's not a question of taste that caused their downfall but economics because we lost far more non-interracial studios during the same period.
Today you have Dogfart who is still producing interracial porn on a regular basis and you can add Blacked, BlackedRaw, Black Ambush and interracial Pass to the list of interracial studios.
The one thing that we have a lack of is black women. I would really love to see more dark skinned women do porn.

Depends on what one means by interracial. I consider White men and Asian women as interracial for example, which reflects reality on the west coast with so many Anglo-Asian couples. The other thought I had is how porn is made and marketed; I have always believed that it is made and marketed to a certain kind of White male who has a particular outlook in the world. That is why White women and Black men is so "exciting" and taboo....to me an artifact of 400 plus years of chattel slavery in the west (EU, etc.). It's a fetish and it comes from a deep psychic place. It comes from a historical place of being able to access and dominate any woman that is part of your slave population or later part of your colonized area. Same with White men and Asian women especially in a world where White wormen are so empowered and there is this history of domination like Vietnamese or Filipino women in the Vietnam war, Japanese women after we won WWII. Asian women are empowered in the real world, but in the porn world they are often portrayed as subservient. Just look at porn titles or descriptions. Notice how often Black men are described by their dicks only...BBC without regard to the character they play in the film. Reducing some one to an appendage is the power to dominate that person......but then there is also the curiosity of taboo that the "other" brings.

For me personally, I would like to see even more interracial, Latino men and Black women, Asian women and middleeastern men, Black men and Asianwomen (David Aaron Clark nailed this...RIP) Russian women and Asian men. The world is becoming more and more mixed, a good thing, porn shouldfollow.

^I was purely speaking in porn lingo where interracial is usually a darker skinned individual paired with a lighter skinned one.
That's why some performers of Hispanic background can sometime be used as Middle eastern or Asian in some cases. When it comes to race. Porn does not follow any logical path.

I gotcha! For dark skinned girls try Italian and French stuff. There are a number of African and Indian girls in those films. Come to think of it even the Asian girls who are regulars are a bit darker than the girls you see in American productions kind of like Kasorn Swan or Lyla Lei if you remember those ladies.

I was and still am a big fan of Tabitha. I'm surprised that anyone remembers her. I really wish she had done more scenes before she left the business. Yeah, She was often billed as "black" but I think girls like her are lucky that because of their mixed heritage they can be cast in multiple ethnic roles. Until I came across this site I would never imagine anyone would really care that much exactly what a girl's nationality was. I never really thought of Tabitha as black but didn't care at all when she was cast as such. I thought she was so sexy I watched anything she did.

I remember Tabitha, big fan of hers!! Interesting how the skin color definitions in porn are so school -childish. For example Lyla Lei was cast as an "Indian" in one film. The Marcela sisters who were Indonesian, cast as Indian and Nyomi was on a Black girl film once. I always am curious about who provides the titles for these things...are they really stupid or do they just believe that porn fans aka the customers are stupid?

^ I kinda get why they do what they do. There's only so many top caliber girls for certain races/nationalities and when a studio is putting together a DVD they may sometime have to round out the cast with girls who may not be of that race/nationality. I don't know if it happens as much these days because the emphasis is more about sites making individual scenes instead of grouping them together. It's also important to remember that most fans simply don't care. I like watching Latina, Asian, white, Brazilian, and black women. I like watching specific women and I never really actively seek out and all Asian or Latino releases. I've watched or bought them but not because I was specifically looking for a specific race but because I like the cast in the movie. So if I'd much rather watch a title good cast than going strictly race accurate. And I think for the people who prefer a particular race they probably are okay as long as most of the cast is accurate.
For the girls, I image they like being able to get the extra work even if they aren't of that race. I just can't see this as being that big deal for the average porn viewer.

Me too , even those with Max and I hated his kind of porn, but here in Europe it wasn't that easy to get .
As for the Marcela Sisters actually a good amount of the Populations in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore , Philippines , Macronesia and even Hawaii are of Malay Ethnicity , they may live in different Countries and speak different languages but the Ethnicity isn't that different maybe even less that say a Southern European from a Slavic one

It's really amusing to see some people touting current IR content as somehow helping to resolve racial issues, showing white women as somehow being 'empowered' to be able to choose black men and break the taboo, etc.
Then you see all the cuckold videos, girls blathering on about how they will only fuck black guys from now on, and so forth. Oh but that's not racism lolol. Or the recent Blowbang scene with Gina Valentina where they literally slap her around and insult the hell out of her. Right, 'empowerment'...
Of course there are thankfully many scenes where the black male stars are respectful, but overall, IR porn serves only to further the cause of reverse racism.
And you will also notice how IR porn is almost always black male stars, and so very rarely black females with white guys. So it's a very specific reverse racism: black males are sexually superior to white males, and very good at defiling the white women if called upon to do so, but black females are still on the lowest rung of the ladder.
To my knowledge, there has never been even ONE scene shot where a black woman fucks a white guy while humiliating her black husband who is watching. Versus what, a couple hundred at least of the other way around?
Then there's the dearth of really popular black female stars. This is just a reflection of the trend in mainstream media, in which black men are regarded as glamorous and exciting, but black women are rarely given even a fraction of the 'glamorous' publicity. I'm not talking about fashion magazines, but mainstream media.
And when was the last time we saw a black female Playmate of the Month? How many of them have there been since the first Playboy issue came out? 4 or 5 maybe?
Black women are not glamorized NEARLY as much as black men in the media. Even in the ultra tame mainstream media, when interracial relations are brought up, the accompanying photos are almost always the black dude with the white girl. If I was a black woman, I'd be pissed off about it, I imagine.

Don't get me wrong. I like a lot of IR porn, provided they don't abuse the women.
I just think it's naive to pretend that it's not--for the most part--a form of reverse racism. And black women once again left out.

IR porn doesn't cause "reverse racism" anymore than watching murder mysteries makes the people who watch them want to kill people.
Porn is fantasies and fetishes. It's the fantasies and fetishes of different people who want to see different things. Some people have the fantasy of watching a big black thug demolish a petite white girl. Some people want to see a girl banged hard and painfully in her ass. Some people want to see a couple having loving romantic love making. Not everyone will be into seeing those premises. As long as the porn performers are respected and not hurt doing a scene and there's an audience for it I don't see the harm in doing any scene even if it's not my cup of tea. It's all make believe for the audience that wants to watch it. It's like saying Hollywood shouldn't make films about murder, or slavery, any sort of scandal because it will influence people to do those things.
"Empowerment" is a personal thing. If a girl says she feels empowered taking on a bunch of guys or taking control of her career or finishing a puzzle...then she's empowered. Others might not see it as an accomplishment but as long as the person doing it does it doesn't matter. So more power to anyone who feels better about themselves and/or feels stronger after doing something that makes them feel empowered. Far better than worrying about what others think.
Because having a black man bang a white woman/girl is a specific fantasy/taboo/fetish that is tied to the messed up history of America. For some or maybe even most hardcore IR fans it's not even about the black guy...it's about punishing the white female. For cuckold fans it's about punishing the weak white cuckold. The black performer is nothing more than a big dick prop to humiliate/punish and the bigger the better. That's why black performers are judged differently than their white counterparts.
White guys banging black girls will never be as popular black male/white female sex. There really isn't a taboo aspect of a white guy banging black female. So that forbidden fruit aspect isn't there. The fetish aspect for WM/BF is basically for white guys who are into black women. Other than that the rest of the people who watch WM/BF are people who are fans of a particular black female performer.
That's just how it works the demand simply isn't there. And of the small pool of black performers that are in the industry there's only a small percentage of the girls who have the looks for the kind of universal that makes the major studios want to hire them. In a world of mostly white people it's just harder for a black woman to make an impact. Sad but it's the reality.

Actually he may have a point about glamorizing Black actresses in mainstream media , but then I think about Halle Barry she was Halle barry even before her portrayal of Storm which was a charimatic Superhero herself even before Halle portrayed her.
She also has been a Bond Girl
So not Black women are portrayed in a glamorized way also back in the sixties Ertha Kitt was chosen to portray catwoman and you can't get any glamorer
so no in mainstream movies they did use black women to portray glamorous women , the actual problem would the the public reception
also more recently Sonequa Martin Green is the protagonist on Star Trek Discovery , i mean she has the main role in one of the most followed shows in the world , there was Nichelle Nichols in the Sixties of course, but she had a supporting role , this time it's different

Social media is probably the reason why there is the perception that IR porn is popular these days. Thing is if you look at upcoming IR movies there seems to be more compilations coming out than originals.
The rise of interracial porn (and all ebony porn as well as anal) as a niche began to take root pretty much in the mid 1980s. It has gone through cycles in the ensuing decades but the one constant is that the taboo aspect of it (WW/BM mainly) has always been there. The one aspect of IR porn that has grown in recent years is cuckolding and white women cheating on their white husbands with black men. Why do you think there is virtually no portrayal of interracial couples in IR porn?
Ironically because the taboo aspect of WW/BM porn will always be a constant there will be a certain level of popularity, no matter what cycles the genre will continue to go through.

Interracial sex has been around in porn from pretty much the beginning. I think in the early days it was seen as taboo but not quite in same way it would in later years. In the 70s in seemed like most of the performers were hippie types and performance artists/creative people who didn't have the sort of hang-ups many people of that time did so for them doing IR wasn't that big a deal. Most of the IR back then seemed to be a scene that would pop up in a movie. If people didn't like it they tended to put up with it because there simply wasn't that much porn back then. Porn was only in theatres in the beginning so people who wanted to watch it had to watch whatever the theatre was showing.
I'm guessing during the video era of porn there was more IR simply because there was more porn in general and it was cheaper to make. During that time they probably started making or making more IR themed movies. Those movies used the word "Black" in the title a lot and it was simply black performers with white performers having sex. I'm willing to bet when IR really took off in porn when they made the shift from black people having sex with white people to porn playing up black stereotypes. The era of "LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT WHITE CHICKS" and the Jake Steed movies with titles that "Black" whatever and or "white bitches" where some black performers playing stereotypical roles. I think I've even seen movies from that time that had watermelons in them. That trend kept up in porn from then all the way up to the BLACKZILLA era. Then the porn biz took a nosedive in sales and everything sold considerably less and many studios went away. Somewhere along the way just before or during the BLACKZILLA era the emphasis went from just black performers simply being black to being huge and black. A lot of the black guys in big but then they started playing it up and the bigger the better. Somewhere in there the "thug" era started and that was popular also.
Of course not all IR movies followed the trends but I think a large portion of the white porn audience liked and responded to the stereotypical IR porn. I think all through the history of IR porn in movies the audience tastes have evolved and changed with the times. BLACKED is very popular now but I don't think it would've been popular 10 years ago. BLACKZILLA was popular years ago but I don't think it would be now. Years from now a different type of IR may be popular.
This is me just speculating based off what I've seen and I wasn't around for some of it. I'm talking in general terms. I know it doesn't apply to every individual.

. I like what you have to say and maybe it doesn't make a diff....all the more reason to get it right the first time. U r so right about compilations tho, those ar dying on the vine...and getting unreasonably expensive when you find one. It is all about the sites as you say. I have never watched Brazzers but the seem to get the most biz.
