I think its really really hot. But I just wonder why its popular than all other piercings among porn chicks. It seems like almost all the chicks have had it, or have it in currently. What makes this piercing so ubiquitous?

When was the last time you sucked a navel? It's a place to stick some metal without blocking porn action. It may also be a way to highlight a flat belly. Keeping it flat is a lifestyle commitment.

I think it's equally ubiquitous amongst young women outside of porn.

Doubtful. The number of pornstars with navel piercings has to be upwards of 50%, more like 75% if you count girls that had them and took them out

Reminded of a bit in the Something Awful review of Café Flesh.

Last time a sucked a navel was last night, and grateful my girlfriend doesn't have it pierced and enjoys the attention I give it.. If she's wearing a midriff baring top, great place to start licking...if she is into it. I've dated a couple women in the past that didn't like it licked or touched. I do agree with the fact a piercing does highlight a flat toned belly, but still would rather not have the metal in the way for a good licking.
