Jules Jordan

I have been a JJ fan since he joined Evil Angel. While I personally am not crazy about his stuff lately, there aren't many people who put out a quality product like JJ.

Mainly, all his series seem to be interchangeable. I wish he would use some different outfits and shoot in different locations(like in Darkside) to spice things up.

I'm going to risk the wrath of Walter Burns by proclaiming that porn is storytelling, and you need a few things to happen for it to be good storytelling:
1) You need to get actors to act out the story in a believable way,
2) you need to record the action, and
3) you need to edit the resulting footage to create a compelling narrative.

Surprising as it may seem, it's very hard to find porn where all three of these are done really well. Jules manages to do them better than most of the crowd.

Another thing is that props can make the story more believable or interesting to the viewer, and props is an area where Jules excels.

If I was a director I'd want to set myself apart and do something unique.

Jules seems to film the most beautiful girls, with great butts. He also seems to get a bit extra from the girls he films. The way he follows them with the camera; the super slutty wardrobe; the tease; the blowbangs. He has a winning formula he uses, and the fans seem to like it too.

Jules Jordan makes it a bit less "gonzo" (in its original meaning) and spends time to make sure the women are all glam'ed up - a good thing. Do I want to keep seeing Krystal Steal's perma-sneer, or her ass? I want to see her ass shown right. I think most porn directors don't take the time to show off a woman's body.

Many other directors do the exact opposite. Make hot girls look very average.
The over use of slapping, gaping, running make-up, gallons of drool, sore red arses, cum gurgling and farting can all combine to provide an ugly mess.
I understand the turn on is the degradation and subordination here.... so 'looks' are secondary.

Jules manages to pull off some of these stunts (perhaps not in a Jake Malone fashion) and still have the girl looking sexy as hell.
The Flesh Hunter series is superb.

For me....to really enjoy the scene, i have to be attracted to the girl.

If the scene is really erotic with lots of tease, sexy outfits and a good build up ...i'm getting turned on.

Finally...after some decent sex i really look forward to a solid well delivered cum shot on a pretty face (Jules delivers big time here again).

Jules should be given a special award for getting an anal 'in' and a monster cumshot 'on' my favourite Asian....Charmane Star. Brilliant Scene.

Since then, I have grown to be nonplussed by Jules' work for the most part. It's not that he's gotten worse, it's just rare to see anything new in his films. His talent is definitely for making women look absolutely stunning, and there is perhaps no one better in this department (at least in video).

However, lately the sex seems pretty tame, I think due to the male talent he uses (especially since he lost Lex).

Darkko/Ferrara/Case-Myne/William H have surpassed JJ in my book due to the heat they generate in their scenes, thanks to Manual, Mark Ashley, Rocco, et al.

And, when I say unique, I'm referring to the fact that his is not merely an artistic vision. Many people have a "vision."
Rather, he also has the ability to capture his vision with incredible craft. He makes quality products with "production values." I've never seen a JJ product where he just cranked-out some piece of crap to collect a check.

Not only does Jules cast attractive girls (some of whom you never realized were that hot until Jules shot them), but he puts them in just the right outfit.
His hair and make-up people prepare the girls like Hollywood glamour queens during the height of the studio system.
His crew is professional and treats the process with respect.
The picture quality and sound is, typically, flawless.
I could go on-and-on, but you all already know these things.

Let's consider Jenna Haze: Darkside.
How many directors can produce a single movie with eight scenes built around a single star and every single scene is a masterpiece?
No doubt, I'm a Jenna Haze fan (as long as she's doing B/G). But, I've been so disappointed with countless Jenna Haze scenes, by other directors, who couldn't even get one scene right.

This leads us to another point in Jule's favor... VALUE.
As consumers, we get more genuine stroke-for-the-buck than most anything else out there. And, the shelf-life and repeat value is enormous.

Vision, talent, execution, quality production values, repeat value... it's all there.

First of all, Mr. Jordan, I don't considered being called "gay" an insult even though I am not, so I won't even bother responding to that aspect of your post.

I was simply stating the obvious, that it takes two to tango (or in porn, AT LEAST two) and that if you use male talent that are duds, your scenes are going to suffer as a result.

The men I mention are notorius for bringing heat and passion to a scene, the latter of which I have very rarely seen in your films. At least not in a while. I think everyone reading this post would rather see genuine (or at least, convincing) passion, than whatever fetish rocks their boat (i.e. gapes, facials, etc.) any day.

The ignored compliment I paid you in my original post is genuine. I still watch and enjoy your movies regularly, however the way I watch your films these days is unique in that it's the tease that gets savored, rewound etc. and the sex that often get fast-forwarded.

Lastly, for the record, maybe if you were a little less homophobic (which your reply makes so obvious), your scenes would improve. Certainly the way you constantly talk to the girls while you're behind the camera and avoid f>m rimjobs at all costs, "scream" how very straight you are.

If you're watching his movies hoping that eventually he will do what you want, forget it. The difference between an artist and a commodity producer is that the artist satisfies his needs first.

If the public, likes what the artist creates, then great. If the individual doesn't like what the artist creates, then they either need to pick up a camera and create what they percieve to be missing or buy someone else's movies.

That was unbelievably hot. Take that same girl at some other studio and she's all nude and it's not as interesting. There is no mood being set elsewhere. JJ knows how to set the mood.

Another scene I really liked was with Jenna Haze & Aurora Snow outside on a payphone trying to call for a ride. They look unbelievable because they look normal. Like just two pretty girls hanging out having fun. The guy brings them back to his place and they are laughing, smiling, having fun it's an exicting scene. The mood is set again. The sex is also excellent with some elements of POV in it.

Also, something about his visual work, maybe he has better equipment to shoot with or something..but it always looks flawless. The girls are dressed unbelievably, it's not just porn. It's erotica.

The girl walks in and you see her walking, it's confident, the mood is set, the imagery is powerful in his films. Few directors realize how much the audience wants a solid buildup. Wants solid imagery and a persona.

Nobody just looks at a girl and says I want to fuck that girl. They say I want to fuck that girl working at the mall. I want to fuck the waitress. I want to fuck the stewardess.

JJ realizes that. In Jenna Haze Darkside, the plot/dialogue was unbelievable. Jenna in a confession booth, then she walks over and fucks the priest inside his booth on the other side. It's not the same sex. It's elevated because there is a buildup.

Her fucking a dick through a hole is nothing. But start with her in an unbelievable black lingerie with the guys groping and feeling over her first through the holes, all the hands rubbing all over her body..her not knowing who they are..that is erotica.

That is some shit you read about in a book and go WOW. So when you see it, you are like holy shit. So that's how it would look.

I honestly think JJ's work is getting unbelievably better. I know it takes time to test out different things and get a feel for how you want to make films...but if Jenna Haze Darkside is where he's at now in his work...fuck...I can't wait to see where else it goes from here!

Back in the day i'd rent all the Anabolic/Diabolic stuff. It was so damn good but you never got a chance to really see the woman! Half the time you'd see the credits and all you'd see is her name and three dicks stuck in her! My friend noticed this after only seeing her ass and said "She's Cute!" as a joke. Exactly.

My first movie from Jules I think was "Flesh Hunter". It seemed to be pushing the limits of what you'd normally see in porn. I think one of his movies was the first time i'd ever seen such sex acts as double anal and "gaping". At the time the movie overall was a step above all the Anabolic/Diabolic stuff in terms of picture quality and well, everything else. I clearly remember the best part of them being all the tease scenes. Not just where it's nonstop sex and that's all. I definitely know that he's not the first to have the tease scenes in his movies.

Where some people direct and maybe like it, they still treat it as "just" porn and only something people jerk off to. I don't think this is Jules Jordans thinking, if that was the case then it'd probably be half as good I think. It's just so obvious that more effort is put into his films than any others, just there to do their job.

I guess overall why I like his stuff is that it appears to be much more artistic than all the other filthy stuff out there. He can be doing double anals, creampies and shooting milk out of asses and still make it look classy and artistic. His stuff adds class back into porn, so that's why they're a step above Anabolic and all the rest in my book.

I remember at one time I was so sick of porn. This was when Anabolic was in decline and their stuff wasn't as good. At one point all my friends and I would rent just Jules Jordan stuff. I always said that i'm not renting it for the guy, just that his stuff is consistantly good. Since when have you rented a Jules Jordan movie and absolutely hated it? Maybe you disliked it, but it's rare where you've purchased one of his movies and felt ripped off unlike with other movies out there.

My only complaint (not really a complaint I guess) is that lately some of his stuff has been rather tame. He hasn't been pushing the limits lately like he did with titles such as "Ass Worship 1,2,6", "Weapons of Ass Destruction" and "Space Invaderz". Sure we've got creampies now, but that's nothing. Maybe i'm expecting to much these days. I haven't really re-watched any of his newest stuff since "Ass Worship 6". I have however watched them all, except for a couple. You don't need to always have every title be really extreme and nasty, but perhaps i'm just too picky. It's perfectly fine, do whatever you want to do! However, I still don't think he got to where he is (as porn god) without taking a lot of suggestions from customers.

To be honest, his stuff hasn't always been at #1 in my book when it came to making the best porn. About 6 months back Platinum-X had some pretty amazing stuff. Platinum-X stuff declined in quality a tad though, but it's still good. Probably up there with Julesjordanvideo and Evilangel.

As long as he keeps making movies i'll watch them. Lately, i've just been bored with some of his stuff.

BTW I don't EVER suggest things here on this forum, but maybe he can get Adrianna Sage to come out of retirement to do a movie. I'm sure she would. I was at her webpage the other day, she's so hot! Like a perfect 10 to me. Probably my #1 favorite. She actually looks better now than she did back when she was doing Anabolic movies.
