Whether you're in porn or digging ditches, the less ammunition you give others to use against you, the less problems and politics are going to play a part in your career. Can you avoid them completely? Not a chance. But if you're professional, come in and do your job to the best of your ability and don't start bullshit because your ego is all you care about, you will almost always be supported when people that don't act that way start pulling politics and character assassination on you.
