My favourite is from Belladonna: My Ass is Haunted - "blasphemous activity". I guess it´s still the year 1600 in the UK.

Very much agreed. It has been legal in the US and the rest of Europe for decades; we have had it for like 5-6 years.

So in England you can only buy adult movies when they are rated. And if an adult movie isn't rated you can't buy them?
Can't you buy them online in the USA and import them so you have the uncut version?

Sucks to be you. Sucks to be in parts of the USA too, some zip codes can not be shipped to. Some of those zip codes are near mine. Luckily mine isn't on the restricted list. But, if it were, I'd just buy the porn and ship it to my friend in Jersey, hell, I'd even let him watch it, then have it shipped to me. [:P)]

I like how they changed "Rocco: Animal Trainer" to "Sex Trainer" and I am kinda surprised to not see Joey Silvera's Service Animals on the list, nor any of Max Hardcore's titles. By those ratings, both Joey and Max's work would be edited to nothing (just about).

I also had to look up "urolagnia" today was the first time I ever saw the word.

You can import the uncut versions from overseas. These will pass through HMCE (customs) without problems provided they arent named something like 'Stranglers and Rapists' and such like.

The UK law concerning porn is very messed up but nowhere near what it was 5 years ago. It is still strange however that you can get away with importing porn very easily that is restricted by the BBFC and not for sale within the UK.

I don't know for myself but I think if I did try it, the DVD would more than likely get confiscated at customs.
That is just stupid. What loony toon comes up with those laws. I appreciate that some things may have to be edited out I really do but...

51m 45s WTF (errr... excessive)
94m 13s WTF (very excessive)

blasphemous activity (plain f*cking ridiculous)

I'm sorry but... Blasphemy... how many f*cking priests do they think will be stroking to this stuff.

Would a priest or anyone waste there time to complain

Dear sir/madam

I am reverend Ashcroft from the Methodist Church of England and I was very offended by the severe arse fucking the woman received from a crucifix in “My Ass Is Haunted” please remove or replace with a standard dildo.

Thank you

That would be the Supreme Court. Obscenity is supposed to be defined locally, so as to avoid conservative Podunk telling liberal New York what it can watch. Of course, the BushCo Feds disrespect the intent, if not the letter of the law, in their fight against 'obscenity.'

More on point, I'm not sure where these companies get their lists, but if it seems that a company may face prosecution in districts contained within a certain zip code then they simply don't ship anywhere in the zip code.

As a UK resident and porn viewer, I have had no problem importing porn, especially as I use a company that imports their titles from Europe / Amsterdam (BLISSBOX ) and they pay custom charges, therefore bipassing the customs straight away.

I think there would only really be a problem if you were not using a UK company, say getting stuff direct from Evil Angel etc...

I'm in the UK and have only had minimal problems with importing DVDs from Five Star, Laser's Edge and Movies By Mail (all US companies I believe).

The only problems I have encountered are customs charges. I have never had anything confiscated by Customs and a fair few packages have been opened and cleared for delivery.

Many companies have the good grace to fudge the total value olf the delievry to avolid customs interference but sometimes they still get checked.

Well to be honest with you guys, this is really a shock to me. I thought there would be a problem, as my cousin has tried this numerous times, quite a long while ago though, and in most cases he had the tapes stopped. I guess things have changed quite a lot since then, or he is just damn unlucky.

Well thanks for the info, my cocks in for a treat.

The cuts are amazing so i just refuse to buy them.

Not really any problem importing uncut titles. There is only a very samll risk of seizure.

"I think there would only really be a problem if you were not using a UK company, say getting stuff direct from Evil Angel etc..."

only problem i had was that i had to pay import tax, which put me off.

I've imported stuff from vidshop, quite extreme stuff no problems.

I mainly use Blissbox.com. They're great but could do with having more titles listed.

Yeah Shock - go for it and you'll be in for a treat! You may not be able to legally buy them in the shops over here, but I've ordered tons of hardcore porn DVDs from both America and Europe and NEVER had anything stopped by customs. The only things you have to worry about are spending too much money in one go, as if you import goods worth more than £17 (i think) customs stop them and charge you VAT plu post office charge you as well - buy your discs 1 at a time. You will probably only have trouble with customs if you buy something on the very dodgy end of the scale (eg piss/scat films or violent theme movies).
CDUniverse are good, as are Vidshop (in fact I think Vidshop ship from within the UK anyway).

Oh - and you can also rent uncut porn films from www.dvdmonthly.com - I've been using them for a few months with no customs problems.

Here's a direct link to the main Adult Universe home page:

Another tip to avoid Customs interference might be to not request the plastic DVDs cases but rather just the disc and artwork. These tend to be less conspicuous - and of course less heavy - and most companies package the stuff safely to avoid damage.

No problem importing to the UK. jadedvideo are very reliable, and they ship in the little wallets and not the DVD boxes. Avoid using Fedex or anything like that (as you will get customs charges).

Regarding the UK and porn

#1 The link in the first post refers to edits made a few years ago "The list includes certificates awarded from the first hardcore R18 on 16th August 2000 up until 1st Jan 2004. Thereafter only cuts of significant interest have been included."

I think if those films were re-submitted to our BBFC today there would be less cuts.

#2 For those outside the UK:

Certification in the UK is carried out by our BBFC (British Board of Film Classification). Our R18 hardcore films can only be bought in person in a shop that has a license. These can cost £50k a year. Porn has to be bought in person so the retailer can verify you're over 18, the legal age :)It is illegal to distribute porn internally in the UK, whether by post or a courier, but it isn't illegal to import films from outside the UK using the post etc.

Over here our encrypted adult satellite channels can't show any form of vaginal/anal insertion. We have live shows and the models have to move to an angle, so that the insertions cam't be seen. UK producers have to shoot both hard and soft versions if they want their folns shown on tv over here as well as being released on Dvd. This has been argued about for a long time. The answer is that as a child may find a way to access the channel when the patrents are out, it isn't secure even with a password, we can't see real X rated programmes.... DUH. On the other hand we have a lot of unencrypted channels which are text/call in programmes where the models can work up to topless...

That's porn in the UK in 2006

Surely a joke?

'Adultvideouniverse' is the one company who refuse to take dvds out of their cases to ship and refuse to flexible with their customs declaration.

The only tip i have received from them is to order no more than 2 dvds at a time to avoid customs charges.

LOL

This is confusing again.

So from people who know i should do the following...

Order in small amount.

And

Try not to get them in DVD boxes. Just the plastic sleeves.

If I get them in the plastic sleeves I will still receive the DVD box cover, yes. So later I can purchase some cases and place the cover in.

So, it still is in-fact illegal to do this within the UK, yet not illegal outside.

I will try and order my first DVD from one of the companies mentioned and I shall report back.

Thanks

Sh0ck, it might also help you to read the international shopping forum on this site, there are lots of UK members there. That's the best place to ask for advice on shopping related matters, and you will find plenty of information on recommended suppliers.

I have experience of using AdultDVDEmpire and JadedVideo. All of the DVDs have turned up. The ones from Empire are shipped in their cases, and I have on occasion been charged customs fees. The one time I used FedEx (as I thought it would be safer) was a nightmare - they turned up but with all sorts of extra costs added.

I now use jadedvideo - they renove the DVD cases and the inserts, but they are very reliable and I've never had any customs charges or problems.

I live in England and I've bought loads of DVD's from US/Canadian websites.

Adult DVD Boxoffice is particularly good as they include free shipping worldwide no matter how small the order. I even had Jenna Jameson: My Plaything 2 go missing in the post and they sent me another copy without any fuss.

I've bought at least 3 times from http://www.cduniverse.com/
and everytime at least 5 or 6 dvds, all received in cases without problem.

As stupid as it is, blasphemy (only Church of England so Catholics or anyone else is fine) is still illegal in the U.K. Maybe you wouldn't get convicted now but as it is, the BBFC can't just ignore it. When you submit a video to them, you're paying them to "check it over". If you got arrested for blasphemy you might well blame the BBFC.

So annoying though. In Britain you hear over and over about how we live in a free society with a long tradition of free speech and tolerance. But it's a joke. It's a joke that we aren't allowed to see anything that isn't approved by the state. Sure you can get around it but that's only thanks to the incompetence and plain lazyness of Her Majesty's Customs.

They're still as far i as i know in consultation about jailing people for porn that is legal in America and all of Europe.

Hardcore cable porn was almost a reality but it didn't help that the porn shops (who would loose cutomers) joined the anti-porn campaigners.

I know of a scene that Ben Dover did, I can’t remember when but it was a scene from his compilation DVD “Fancy an Indian”. I think it was the last scene on the DVD, the girl was a virgin or so she said, and Ben had sex with her. That whole scene after the oral sex was cut because; even though the girl gave her consent she “did not appear to be fully consentient” or something like that. So the BBFC demanded the scene cut. Ben read the letter he received from them to the camera after the scene.

That´s why the internet is so important to everyone. To "overcome" the censorship created by goverments or whoever thinks he or she needs to "think" for others. Any Adult should have the right to watch movies in the "uncut" Version !!!

The blasphemy is why I like My ass is haunted so much... I don't think I would like politically incorrect movies so much if they weren't just that. 'Raise your left arm, extend it gently, now extend your index finger'

But thats a music site.

They are the same people as 'Adultvideouniverse'. And they will NOT send dvds without taking them out of their shrink wrapping and they WILL charge full value on the customs sticker.

As soon as you go over £18 Royal mail will leave you a nice little note asking you to pop down and pay a customs charge and a handling fee before you can receive your 'bulky' conspicuous parcel from 'Adultvideouniverse'.

I know, but that doesn't mean it won't be checked by customs (parcels come under more scrutiny than envelopes....most likely to be looking for other illegal items but they will be interested in checking out adult material) or be a more tempting target for theft.

this is something that really make me laught, porn is know to be more extreme in europe, when max release a new movie he always call his full version ``euro`` But then british is in europe...so i can`t see why they don`t do like the rest of europe. Actually they really seem to take themselve too seriously, especially when you look at the way all the other country pay with the ``euro`` now exept britain...weird.

Probably something to be with being an island - we're technically part of Europe but then most of the time we seem to be sucking up to the USA instead, and most of the population would probably be against any further integration with Europe. Unfortutnealy that means we have our own draconian cencorship laws!

By the way, be careful when you purchase a Max Hardcore Euro dvd : British "R18" versions exist (I know it makes no sense), the "real" uncut euro versions wear a Gold label.

Logically, the British version should be tamer than both the US and Euro cuts.

Trust me when I say we Brits dont take things too seriously. The Brits I know are some of the most sex obsessed, filthy, nymphomaniacal people I have ever met. I arrived at this conclusion following several years of travelling around the globe with my work. Theres something about having to appear to be conservative that makes everyone so liberal and depraved behind closed doors!

Sorry for going out of topic but i just wondered if Death/Black Metal bands are still having problems getting distributed in the UK because of the silly "blasphemy-law". I remember in the early 90s the swedish band Dismember were ruled as being "Indecent and Obscene". Naturally they called their next album "Indecent and Obscene".

Really? How often do you order with them?
I had my fingers burnt once with a customs charge (and an associated long delivery delay) and have since only ordered under the £18 limit.

I have written to them several times asking them to only ship dvds/covers and be more flexible with their customs declaration.
On all occasions they wouldn't budge citing their shipping policy.
I remember kicking up a stink about it on the forums here.

I certainly wouldn't like to risk it again without them confirming they have a new policy.

Their cheap prices are offset by the limitation of 2 dvds at a time (adding up a nice shipping bill).

I have ordered over 400 dvds and the only problem i have had is the customs charge with Adultvideouniverse.
All the other retailers on here have been fine including:

Adultdvdtoday
fivestardvd
x-rent
Adultcdmovies
moviesbymail
adultdvdempire
lasersedge ($1.99 shipping did take a long time)
adultdvdnow
adultdvd69 (no longer in price search, but still trading)
playtimecinema

I have also ordered successfully from:

Erodvd (based in Holland...had letters opened a few times by customs but resealed and sent on)
Orgazmik (swiss)

Bah… I need a credit card now; I thought I could order with my Visa Electron card.

I have had a look and I don’t know which one, although I have absolutely no credit history. The only one I can find for people with no credit history is below.

Someone have a look at this and tell me if it is good, I don’t know WTF it is talking about. I have never had one before. What the hell is APR is that how much I will get charged for having one. I’m a noob help.

Anyone from the UK have this card.

APR = Annual percentage rate. It's the interest you pay back should you not clear your balance.

If you pay your balance off each month you won't have to worry about APR rates.
